Rating: Summary: Sink me! What a great movie! Review: OK...So call me obsessed...I LOVE this movie and have seen it a ton of times! I know all the lines...although you really don't want to hear me recite them... and think that Andrews and Seymore did the BEST acting in this film ever! Although the ending differs from the book, it is JUST if not MORE enjoyable than the wonderful classic. :o) Odd's fish, m'dear-- it's the best movie of the year! (You see, I'm a bit of a poet--and you did not know it! What?! heh heh.) And this is SO not a chic flick (even though okay, I AM a girl), but it also has a ton of adventure and guys-- listen up --if you want to REALLY impress your sweetheart, say some of Percy's lines. ("Chauvelin is very powerful in the government, Sir Percy." "The only power I can see at present, madame, is the power of your beauty." AHHH!) Buy it. Watch it. You'll LOVE it!
Rating: Summary: Its great with wonderful costumes! Review: And what a lovely picnic basket
Rating: Summary: Sink Me! Had a devil of a time finding a better movie!!! Review: Wow! I have seen the Scarlet Pimpernel I don't know how many times and I can't quit watching it. Sir Percy Blakeny and Marguerite are perfect. YOU MUST WATCH THIS MOVIE!! Action, suspence, intrigue, DEFINITE romance. No guys, this is NOT a chic flick. My 21-year old brother loves it as much as I do. He's forever quoting Sir Percy ("Sink Me!, "Look you here sir!", and "I ask you") He also hooked his best friend. A definite must see for anyone who has any taste at all!! I also higly recomend the book by Baroness Ocrazy, you'll love it. Give it a try, you'll be hooked!! Guaranteed! Just see if you don't catch yourself quoting Sir Percy's hilarious lines. The Pimpernel is our definite #1 -Michelle Patterson age 19
Rating: Summary: I LOVE this movie! Review: I first saw this movie when it came out on television and fell in love with it. Anthony Andrews is SUPERB as Sir Percy Blakeney (aka: the Scarlet Pimpernel)! He conveys so much emotion with his eyes and his facial expressions are terrific! He is hilarious! Romance, adventure and comedy all rolled into one! You'll want to watch it over and over again!
Rating: Summary: A fabulous adventure and a wonderful romance. Review: This movie is a must have for any Jane Seymour collection. The action is non-stop and the romance superb. It grabs you in the first moments and never lets up. I have read the book and this is actually better. A wonderful treat for that rainy day or when you don't know what you want to do. Just pop in the "Pimpernel" and be off on an adventure!!
Rating: Summary: A delightful comedy Review: This movie is soooo funny!!! I mean you never stop laughing. The Pimpernel is classic. At every corner he slaps you in the face with sophisticated humor.
Rating: Summary: It's my favorite movie! Review: "They seek him here, they seek him there. Those frenchies seek him everywhere..." The Scarlett Pimpernel is a classic. It's got romance, suspence, trickery, & it's hilarious. I promote this movie 100%. You WILL NOT be disappointed! Have fun!!!
Rating: Summary: Romance, adventure, and comedy all in one great movie. Review: My family and I all love this movie. We have "Pimpernel Parties" where we invite all our friends to our house to watch this video. This is a "must see" movie! A movie that is simillar to this is "The Princess Bride". You have to see them both!
Rating: Summary: IT'S SOOOO ROMANTIC!!! Review: I've seen this movie so many times, on TV, on video, but I never get bored of it. It is a very fine pice for romantic people and for Jane Seymour fans it just has to belong to their video collection. A fine team: Seymour and Andrews. We can see them in The Woman He Loved, too, and they are just terrific together!
Rating: Summary: great acting but ending slightly different from book Review: I've seen the original movie with Leslie Howard and Merle Oberon and they also did justice to their roles as Percy and Marguerite; if you love old-time flicks, go for it! This more updated version with Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour is just as entertaining. In both versions, the acting is superb and the scenes and sets are perfect. The only disappointment is that neither of the movies endings quite follow the book and usually as you read the book, you already have in mind how the story is to unfold. Nonetheless, for the hopeless romantics out there (gentlemen take note--this isn't just a chick-flick), pop a version into your VCR, cuddle up with your sweetie and enjoy the fun!!! It is classic romance at its finest with all the pomp and circumstance of merry old England!!
