Rating: Summary: This move is really judgment day Review: For Ice T and Mario Van Pepples that is. Two of the worst actor to ever grace the screen star in a movie together and whatz worst hollywood is still givin this cats money to make more films what the f--- are they thinkin. If you want to rent a movie with a fine woman(Shireen Crutchfield) rent this movie if you want a good movie rent something else. Mos def!
Rating: Summary: Excellent plot, low budget? Review: Judgement Day is similar to Armageddon and Deep Impact, which came out around the same time in 1998-1999. But if I had to choose the best PLOT of any of the "big rock hits earth" movies, it would be Judgement Day. However, there are a few actors who just do not fit the roles they are cast in. Yet the three primary actors are Ice-T, Suzi Amis, and Mario Van Peebles. Their roles are solid and convincing. There are about fifty dollars worth of special effects in the movie and, being a "big rock in space, hits earth" movie, that should tell you something. If you get this, do so for the story. The plot (with minor development) is by far excellent compared to any of the other movies of this genre.

Rating: Summary: You will probably not find this review helpful Review: Ok, so call me shallow, but I guess I tried to watch this movie a couple years ago, and I found it again the other day on my DVD shelf. I could not figure out how it got there or why I didn't remember much of it. Well, I figured it out pretty quickly. The female lead looks like she forgot to take off ghoul makeup and put on wrinkle cream or any other makeup. I mean seriously she looks so weathered that it pretty much ruins the movie, which otherwise is generally entertaining. I would have preferred looking at a fat lady for 90 minutes to looking at the lines all over her face.
Rating: Summary: SHOOTING STARS Review: Okay, so the back of the DVD box is really misleading, since they show several asteroids hitting NYC, which is erroneous because the asteroid is one big chunk and decimates the San Francisco area. But since packaging isn't worth docking a movie, I'll focus on the film itself. JUDGMENT DAY while not big budgeted like similar DEEP IMPACT or ARMAGEDDON is nonetheless entertaining on its level. Rather than focusing on pyrotechnics involved in destroying the asteroid, we get to focus on FBI agent Suzy Amis (once married to the King of the World James Cameron) and convict Ice T (in one of his more tolerable characterizations) trying to find the one man who can stop the asteroid from obliterating manking (Linden Ashby). But enter religious fanatic Thomas Payne (played rather controlled by Mario van Peebles), who believes the asteroid is God's judgment so he kidnaps the scientist to prevent him from destroying the asteroid. It seems rather odd that there would be only one man capable of affecting such a global catastrophe, but it's Hollywood, man, so anything goes. Director (former actor John Terlesky of Deathstalker II) keeps the pace tight and delivers what you probably would expect from this straight to video release.
Rating: Summary: Average production, but interesting story Review: The premise: A giant meteor is expected to crash into Earth in amatter of days -- a crash that would cause global devastation. Oneman can stop it: Dr. David Corbett, the creator of a Star Wars-esquemissile defense system. The feds aren't the only group looking forhim; militant religious cult leader Thomas Payne believes thatjudgment day is rightly upon us, and will do anything he can to keepCorbett from stopping the meteor. The government is forced to enlistthe help of Payne's arch-enemy Matthew Reese, a convicted killer, whois the only man who would know Payne's whereabouts. "JudgmentDay" puts a new and different spin on the whole "meteordestroying the Earth" story. Rather than concentrating ondestroying the meteor, the movie largely deals with finding the manwho can and stopping the man who would let the Earth be destroyed. For this, it gets three stars. The acting isn't the best, but itisn't the worst I've ever seen. Ice T is probably the worst of thebunch. Since I really don't remember how the rest did, I'm notawarding any stars for the acting. I don't remember it being too goodor bad though. In short, if you want to see a different spin on themeteor arc, check this film out; you might like it.
