Summary: It ws allright
Review: It was good, but the main character was sleeping somewhat. When the ship was sinkingit was very exciting. I would recommend the book . Some of the real facts were missing I have study this diaster very closely. Like I say it was good but not exact.

Summary: Bloody awful and vastly overated
Review: Oh heavens, this film is simply terrible. I can't imagine what all the fuss and hype were about after seeing the video. The two leads had no chemistry whatsoever and the dialogue was laughable. (Really, we were howling at times.) Kate Winslet is a wonderful actress but she couldn't overcome this mess. However, to be fair, the costuming was lovely. Really the best part of the film. Why do people rave about this film???

Summary: Nice, but extremely over-hyped
Review: Titanic is a nice movie, with great sets, spectacular special effects, good looking leads, and a romantic plot. However, it has been unbelievably overhyped. No, it is NOT the best film ever made (I would have to go with Citizen Kane or Schindler's List on that), it is NOT the most romantic movie ever made (The English Patient features a much more adult love story, and Zeferelli's "Romeo and Juliet" captures the young love). It is not even the best movie of the decade. HOWEVER, it is sweet, sad and in places, very heart-warming. I confess to crying, but the situations did feel manipulated and staged on occasion. The acting was good: kudos to deCaprio and Winslet for being able to (mostly) carry off the very simplistic dialogue. That is the biggest weakness of the movie: it is not well written. If you want a great script, see Good Will Hunting, because you won't find it in Titanic.

Over all: See it, but don't expect greatness, and you won't be dissapointed. You'll enjoy it.

Summary: Everyone got sick of It, but it's Great!!!
Review: The problem is that everyone got so sick of this movie that they ended up hating it. After going to the theatres for the 2nd viewing, all you could do was but fidgit and find something to munch on to pass time. TITANIC isn't really overrated, just over commericalized and over seen by the public, that's all.

Maybe in a year or two I'll actually spend some time and watch this video, and I expect it to be a new and fresh experience.

Summary: The movie of a lifetime
Review: I have reviewed this movie several times before, but so many people review it that within two days, your reveiw gets buried. I absolutely think this is the best movie of the century. I am hoping that there will never be another attempt at a movie about the Titanic, because it would only look dull in comparison to this movie.

Nothing and no one can ever equal this movie. I love it all, from the completely nervous expression on Rose's face when Jack sketches her to the joyful exclamation "I'm the king of the world!" to their tender last moments together and her promise to him.

I have never seen such a touching movie. It is clearly deserving of the un-ending stream of praise and love for it. Nothing can ever top it. It's majestic, just like the Tianic herself was, with the band playing until the end and the great ship, so elegant, so proud, and the sad songs sang tearfully in a voice that says it all.

Now we get down to real business and straighten a few things out. No, I'm not a fan of Celine Dion's. Yes, I am a fan of Leo's, but I don't know why that means nobody will listen to the reviews by people who don't spend their spare time putting him down. No, it's not completely historically accurate, and yes, I know that not everone has the love for it that I do. But I also know that the people who see it with technicalities in mind are missing a great deal from the emotions of this movie of the century.

It's just as wonderful as the real Titanic was, and I'm so glad to see that it is getting the praise that Titanic never got.

Summary: There is nothing "Titanic" about this movie
Review: When the "Titanic" craze first began, I was eager to see the widely-declared film. However, when I did finally view the film, the film sunk just like the Titanic, in my mind. What was the big deal about this film? I thought it was unrealistic, childish, and very soap-opera style. Maybe the director should air the film on NBC's daily soap operas. I've seen better movies.

Summary: Amazing !
Review: Ever since I heard about the film , Titanic , I couldn't wait until I could watch it . I know I'll never forget it , it's going to be one of those films that you make your grandchildren watch in years to come ! I found the movie to be one of the best and most exciting films I had ever seen , expressing such emotion and love . The story line creates an idea in my head that there must have been a situation like it on board the Titanic, which is why I found the film to be upseting . Amongst the love and tragidy , there is humour . If you don't watch this film , then you're missing out on something incredible - believe me . Snuggle up to your loved one , stuff your face with chocolate , and relive - the Titanic .

Summary: Hey, Cameron...it's over, buddy.
Review: You know how one day, at a certain age in your life, you see this REALLY great film and it just haunts your mind for days on end?

And then, you turn back and see it again, and instead of thinking it was great, you could picture it on the next episode of Mystery-Science Theater?

That's how I felt about this movie. Seriously. I just have to say, I was seriously hooked into this film and hypnotized by the freakin' Enya-like music that droned on and on, letting up only when there was an action scene, when the music was then replaced by pieces of Horner's ALIENS that must have been left on the cutting room floor of that film. And I must have seriously been on something when I thought that Kate and Leo were really, really good. It took Siskel and Ebert's annual movie-trashing right before the Oscars to wake me up.

Yes, this movie is haunting and yes, for a moment, everyone DID enjoy that stupid song by Celine Dion. Now, she can proudly hoist that film up in the air and join the ranks of the other stupid "diva" singers like Houston and Streisand who think that they're so great when, in all reality, they're nothing but over-rated, over-blown lounge acts.

And I DID pick TITANIC accurately in the Oscars. Not because I liked the film that much, it's because I knew that it couldn't possibly lose due to the budget of a small country and the wanna-be epic-like production, reminscent of Forrest Gump(another piece of overrated junk that gave Tom Hanks the ultimate complex and somehow convinced himself that he could be a great serious actor).

All I have to say now is that I am sorry for EVER thinking this movie was great. It was basically the Wizard hiding behind the curtain instead. James, all I have to say is suck it up. Open up the last of your champagne, get drunk, try and call your ex-wife who thankfully left you(perhaps because she escaped the hypnotism?) and apologize to her for being such a moron to her.

Why, you ask? Because STAR WARS is coming. Everyone took their eyes off it because of TITANIC. It ain't happening again. And all you little young, teenage girls who weep and sigh when Leo shows his pre-pubescent chest to you can go ahead and tell me that nothing will ever beat TITANIC. I have news for you, ladies. When people sell-out theaters for THE WATERBOY and MEET JOE BLACK just to see the new STAR WARS trailer, I think that means that Lucas is about to repeat history. Especially when critics and box-office analysts predict that it will make $200 Million in the first week, I think that means that TITANIC will sink again.

And all the doubters will sink with them.

Good night and God Bless,

Matt Perri, Pleasanton, CA
