Review: I'll be the first to admit that when this movie was released, I wasn't in a rush to see it. Needless to say, I ate my words.
I absolutely love this film! "The Crow" tells the story of Eric Draven, a young rock star who's life is devoted to his art and his fiancee, Shelly Webster. When hoodlums brutally murder them both in their apartment on Halloween, Eric is resurrected and returns to avenge his and Shelly's murderers one by one. The Crow is born.
Yes, the movie is dark, gloomy and violent, but that doesn't take away from its substance. This movie has heart. It tells everyone that true love survives even in death. Brandon Lee, forever remembered now for is accidental and ill-timed death while this film was in production, has never looked so beautiful. He plays this tortured soul so effortlessly but still adds a little humor to the somber mood. The action is great, the dialogue is great. In a nutshell, everything about this movie is great. You'd be missing out if you refused to see this. As Eric Draven said..."It's not a good day to be a bad guy."

Summary: Fantastic is an understatement.
Review: For those of you don't know this movie is Brandon Lee's last. Tragically, he died during the last days of filming. This film would have catapulted Brandon Lee into major-stardom. Knowing this only makes the movie darker, sadder, and more heart-wrenching. Based on the comic book series of the same name by James O'Barr, the movie stays close to its comic book roots. Dark imagery, up-close shots, and stark contrasts add to the comic book feel and gothic look of the movie. The music in the film, both soundtrack and songs, convey thoughts and imagery. The Crow is a story of love and revenge, loss and retribution. It is a portrait of the struggle between the pain of seeing the past, and the peace of gaining closure. Director Alex Proyas did a wonderful job of capturing this struggle on film. While the bulk of the supporting cast is at the very least believable, Michael Wincott is disturbingly creepy as the main antagonist "Top Dollar." Ernie Hudson, here playing a cop who thinks he's seeing a ghost, delivers an even performance.
But the movie is ALL Brandon Lee. He brought his martial arts background and talent to this film and gave 200%. He was also the movie's fight choreographer. This means: sit up and watch! This movie is 80% action, 5% comedy, and 15% heart-wrenching, tear-jerking tragedy. Be prepared to sit on the edge of your seat, and use up a box of kleenex.

Summary: The Myth of the Crow
Review: The Crow opens with a voiceover reading this myth: "People once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with it, and the soul can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes, the crow can bring that soul back, to put the wrong things right." The Crow is mythmaking at its best. Eric Draven (Lee) is brought back from the dead to avenge the rape and murder of his wife and his own murder. While filming the scene where his character is shot dead at the beginning of The Crow, in order to return to life as an immortal Jesus figure, the cap from the blank hit him and lodged in his spine, and Brandon Lee died. The way Lee's death on set at that particular moment fit into the myth of the movie is just as much to do with the cult status of this picture, as its fantastic gothic landscape, exciting story, gorgeous score and irresistable central figure. Brandon Lee, being interviewed about The Crow, was asked about death and his character in the film. He said this: "Because we do not know when we will die we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. And yet everything happens only a certain number of times. And a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood. An afternoon that is so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it. Perhaps four or five times or more. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless." He died not long after. This was his last interview.

Review: EXICTING,THRILLER AND TWO THUMBS WAY UP!! TO THIS MOVIE! AS I remember (when i first saw this "film" back in 1996 i wasn't REALLy into it) And so i didn't pay much attention, the fact being known that "brandon lee" was in the movie made it worth watching, because of his Dad's past/career and martial art movies. Basically now that i've seen it a couple of weeks ago I have really gotten into the movie and everything, plus the fact my b-day is on halloween (makes obivously to me):)that i like these kinds of movies and of coarse "Martial Arts" Nonetheless,
BUT MOVIE IS A ASTONISHING CINEMA WITH GREAT CHARACTORS AND ROLES AND EVERYTHING WAS SET-UP ALMOST PERFECT, EUPHORIC MUSIC AND THIS MOVIE IS A 5star and is in fact worth watching with friends or girl-friend (recommended) Oh by the way....Eric (Brandon Lee) mentioned in the movie.

Summary: Justice Prevails, Even after Death
Review: Sadly, this film was thrust into the stuff of legends first by the untimely demise of its star, Brandon Lee. Then by it's beautiful story. The story should have been enough, Lee should have lived to make other films. But that's just wishing in the wind. The story of a murdered man's return one year after his death to exact vengeance on those who killed him and his wife is based on the popular comic book. The idea of love transcending the borders of Life/Death allow the violence to be overlooked, if not accepted as just. Filled with darkness and rage, Eric Draven (Lee) seeks out those who killed him and his wife, guided by a psychopomp crow. Brandon Lee's portrayal of the tortured spirit is nothing but masterful. Alex Proyas's direction is both superb and haunting. The script by John Shirley brilliant. Not only was The Crow one of the best and most memorable movies made in the 1990's but it did a wonderful thing in this age of teenage illiteracy, it prompted teens to seek out and read the source material. Even if it was just graphic novels, kids were reading. Interested in the written word. Because they had been shown that magic could be found on the page. A killer soundtrack didn't hurt either. A movie that will one day be hailed as a classic. To me it already is.

That's just what happens in 1994's comic book-based "The Crow," a dark, beautifully gothic tale of violence, revenge, and justice. One year after his death, Eric (Brandon Lee, in his tragic, final role) returns as an unstoppable force of vengeance, with a supernatural Crow as his guide to those whom he must destroy. One by one, Eric takes out the scumbags that took his life and love, Shelly. As his work becomes more challenging, he enlists the aid of kindhearted Police Sergeant Albrecht, played by beloved Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson. Together, they protect a young girl named Sarah, as Eric goes on with his vigilante executions, eventually leading him to a much bigger source of evil. The Crow is a masterpiece of modern film. The first in the now popular style of dark, gothic tales of supernatural Urban warfare. The tale is cold and unforgiving, yet equally touching, and straight from the heart of creator James O'Barr. The film is dark and graphic, and perfectly matched to the story it tells. The acting is superb, the writing poetic, and the attention to detail baffling. This is a film that is truly an event to watch, as simple as the story may be. The DVD is loaded with extras that really give you insight into the depth the film-makers went to bring The Crow to the big screen. You'll also get a keen understanding of the comic and its creator, or at least, as best as you can without reading the comic yourself. Tragically, Brandon Lee was shot and killed while filming this Masterpiece of a movie in a somewhat suspicious "accident." Who knows what wonderful films we would have today, had that accident not occurred. As it stands however, this film will go on as Brandon's gift for generations and generations to come.

Summary: Pure dark gothic goodness
Review: The Crow is a terrific movie, it really is, the entire movie is dark, except for maybe 4 or 5 minuites of color, Brandon Lee plays his part very well, too bad it was his last movie, he was shot by mistake on the set and that was the end of him and his courier, the DVD is great with DTS 5.1 sound and awesome picture, truly worth watching

Summary: Nothing short of spectacular
Review: I watched the other 2 crows before this, and I thought they were just pure garbage. One day I was flipping through channels and saw the crow 1, I was thinking this might have been the garbage that started it all. But when I saw it , it had something the other crows didn't have, potential, charisma, energy, ambition, and a wonderful plot.
This is a story about Eric(Brandon Lee) returnung from the dead, and avenging his love Shelly(Sofia Shinas) and going up aganst a large gang that goes on a rampage on their personal holiday called devil's night.
Brandon Lee delivers his greatest, and sadly his last performance of his carrer.(I'm sure this promised him a successful movie carrer). This movie does a great job of combining fantasy, drama, romance, and action it. Anyone who loves action/goth/fantasy/type movies sould definitly give this movie a shot.
Interesting fact:Brandon Lee just like his father Bruce Lee died on the set. Bruce Lee died from Cerebral Edema, and Brandon Lee died from a cap of a .44 shot(When he got shot up by all of Top Dollar's men. It's sad how this is sort of a "father like son" saying.
P.S.:When Brandon Lee died, it's like he took the crow saga with him. The other two sucked; it's like what happened to the Matrix, and Robocop. Why did they stop making the crow saga? Cuz when the first one came out, the sun shined, then it started to rain when the other two cam out. I guess they figured out the first crow's saying "It can't rain all the time" peace
