Rating: Summary: This movie's an excellent bad influence Review: Action is action, but the thing that makes this movie worth one's time is the dialogue. If your tongue is getting dull, this film makes a wonderful whetstone. It is not really either star's best work, but scenes from it are among the first images that come to my mind at mention of Woods or Fox. DVD technology is a major asset, because it brings the experience as close as it can be to sitting in the theater -- which is, really, the way films are designed to be enjoyed.
Rating: Summary: Funny, exciting Review: Different type of movie that offers amusement and at the same time fullfills your need for action and adventure.
Rating: Summary: An underrated action/comedy thriller. Review: Director John Badham(Stakeout Films, Saturday Night Fever, Short Circuit) bring out one of his most entertaining movie and certainly his best work as a film director. Micheal J. Fox(The Frighteners) and James Woods(John Carpenter`s Vampires) gives over the top comic performances in the picture, highlight this one. Fox plays a top hollywood star named Nick Lang, desperately needs a good role for next movie, he`s very tired to playing cartoon characters in his action/blockbusters. He decided to go in New York City, for doing reseach to play a cop. NYPD Cop John Moss (Played by Woods) is forced to Babysit Lang, pretending to be his new partner on the force. While Moss is (angry), he`s not the case on searching on a serial killer named the Party Crasher(Played by Stephen Lang). He`s trying his best on his search at the same time, while babysitting the actor Lang. Moss didn`t expect that Lang will follow everywhere he goes, including his personal lifestyle and his new girlfriend(Played by Annabella Sciorra). The movie has well know cast including:Luis Guzman(Boogie Nights, The Bone Collector), LL Cool J(Halloween H20, Deep Blue Sea), Delroy Lindo(Ransom, The Cider House Rules), Film Director:Penny Marshall and a young Christina Ricci(Sleepy Hallow). An very good movie for the early ninties don`t miss it. One of my favorite movies. Grade:A. Panavision.

Rating: Summary: my favorite film, yes really! Review: i love james woods and michael j fox, and i like john badham as a director, to put it simply it hit all the right marks for me.a true classic for me from the goofy old buddy movies of the early, early ninties.
Rating: Summary: High-energy action-comedy, great fun film for a Friday night Review: I've always thought of The Hard Way as more of an action-packed comedy than an action-adventure film. The humor hinges on the dialogue, not unlike the comedy of films like Arsenic & Old Lace -- though the vocabulary of this dialogue is not suitable for the young, naive, or terribly reserved. Mixed with the punch lines, there is quite a punch of action -- which is visual and exciting. If looking for literary storytelling or heavy drama,I'd look elsewhere, but this film is fast, fun, and very entertaining, without a downbeat.
Rating: Summary: Hillarious, James Woods proves to be quite a comedian. Review: Mixing Comedy and Action always makes the greatest movies in my books. the Beverly Hills Cop movies, Stakeout, Tango & Cash, 48 hours. These are all brilliant comedys that mix comedy and action perfectly. The Hard Way is no exception. Micheal J Fox is as hilarious as ever, James Woods proves what a brilliant and Versetile Actor he is. This film has all the elements, but it falls short of five-star fare because of a couple of flat spots. But its a worthy addition to any self-respecting film fans video library.
Rating: Summary: Great film! Review: Nick Lang(Michael J.Fox) is an actor who goes into partnership with a New York City cop(James Woods). They get along THE HARD WAY. Nick is spoiled and he even complains that nobody except himself wants him to "grow up". Great support from Annabella Sciorra(CADILLAC MAN) and a great special appearance by Penny Marshall, late of TV's Laverne & Shirley. Director John Badham's previous films include 1977's SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER and 1990's BIRD ON A WIRE.
