Rating: Summary: Boom! Side by Side! Boom! Review: Hilarious! If you have a good sense of humor and need a laugh get this movie. You will be rolling on the floor laughing. But be careful and not die laughing too hard. I love the scene where they sing Side By Side.
Rating: Summary: A MOVIE WHICH MAKES ME LAUGH Review: I like the movie HUDSON HAWK very much.why? because is starring the one and great BRUCE WILLIS.
Rating: Summary: How do you spell perfection? Review: Quite simply, it took my breath away. Never before have I been so utterly moved by any piece oof film. The 90 minutes I spent watching "Hudson Hawk" was a time of absolute joy-- an epiphany, of sorts. The legendary Willis turns in an Oscar-worthy performance, with terrific supporting help from Della Reese, Sherman Hemsley and the late, great Esther Rolle. I laughed, I cried, I hugged my wife, and I'm a an all-around better man for having seen this movie. An absolute must-see!!!
Rating: Summary: Under-rated just plain fun movie! Review: This is a fun movie! Don't bother if you are looking for serious plot or a movie that takes itself seriously. This is a movie that obviously was fun in the making and playing, which results in fun in viewing it, too. This is a vehicle (or vanity) film for Willis, but among the better vehicle movies in my opinion. If you like silly, fun movies, then you'll probably like this one. Some of the irreverence to "proper" film making that we saw and loved in "Moonlighting" is present in this film, which suggests that Willis introduced a lot of creative input to that TV show. If you haven't seen Hudson Hawk, rent it before you buy, but I'm sure you'll come the same conclusion I have that this is one you must own. As others have said, it's one of those movies you can just pop in when nothing else sounds just right. Finally, this is one movie that has never before been released in widescreen - an injustice in my mind. I pre-ordered this way back in January and can't wait to get it next week!
Rating: Summary: I LOVE THIS MOVIE Review: It's a film I can watch when I'm in any mood. It's got lots of silly humor and cool stunts and is quite bizzare too. Quite refreshing really.
Rating: Summary: Much better than the critic conspiracy leads you to believe Review: As for the actual movie, Hudson Hawk is one of the most hated and debated movies this decade (the 90s). Critics never forgive big-budget box-office bombs (like Waterworld and Godzilla), but in this case they made a fatal error. They condemned a movie that was actually one of the most brilliant, entertaining, nonsensical pieces of art brought to the big screen. This movie is the utter definition of quirky. It brings the audience action, locales, twisted plots, and lots of humor (weird and unmistakable). Willis plays Eddie "Hudson Hawk", a catburglar released from prison after ten years, who attempts (briefly) to walk the straight and narrow. Along with his friend Tommy Fivetone (Danny Aiello), Hawk gets involved in a complicated scheme to recover objects to make a gold machine. The key players in this conspiracy include (take notes!) the mafia, crooked cops, the CIA, the Vatican, and billionare eccentrics out for WORLD (pause) DOMINATION! Naturally, this is not everyone's cup of cappucino. If you lack the ability to let go of "movie reality" (where you expect the movie to follow certain, predefined rules seen countless places elsewhere), then you might really come out of this experience with a partial lobotomy. But for those of us looking for the new, unusual, and fun, Hudson Hawk is one of the freshest movies out there.
Rating: Summary: Hudson Hawk Review: I don't care what the critics say, this movie is hillarious, and one of my familys favorite. I think this movie was one of Willis's best, it is a great movie. At least see it before you judge, well worth seeing.
Rating: Summary: Hudson Hawk is a lite hearted romantic spy spoof. Review: Bruce Willis and Danny Aiello lead a excellent cast in a very enjoyable "It Takes a Thief" / "James Bond" spoof with witty dialog , romance and "Mission Impossible" gadgetry. James Coburn also throws in some excellent "Our Man Flint" character. You don't have to think hard, no one try's to force thier political or social agenda down your throat, just sit back and enjoy a fun movie highlited by some beutiful Italian sites. The movie has some very minor language and is otherwise fit for all family members.
Rating: Summary: Lots of unique fun!! Review: Although following the plot in spots of this film is, admittedly, confusing (hence the one missing star), this movie is just FUN. The chemistry between Danny Aiello and Bruce Willis is a joy to behold, and Andie MacDowell is subtly funny as a disguised Vatican nun and tour guide. Sandra Bernhardt ("Bunny, ball-ball!") is wickedly funny, too. The heist scenes are cleverly concocted, and the premise of a scheme to recreate DaVinci's alchemy machine is an original one for a movie caper. I have never understood the scathing reviews of this film!
Rating: Summary: Not bad, just misunderstood! Review: I was walking with two friends, one of whom really enjoyed this film (as I did) and one of whom disliked it intensely. The friend who disliked the film said to the two of us, "I'm sorry, but you can't build a whole movie on Bruce Willis and Danny Aiello wisecracking with each other." We looked at him in disbelief and said, in unison, "YES you can!!!" That pretty well sums up the Hudson Hawk experience. If you go into it expecting a typical Bruce Willis film, you'll be disappointed. It's a fast-paced film full of bizarre humor and great lines and scenes. The closest comparison I can draw would be if you were to mix up the "Taming of the Shrew" episode of Moonlighting and a 60s action film. The dialog is quick-paced, and there's *nothing* in the film which isn't a joke. If you're looking for a serious or sane film, look elsewhere. But one way or the other, if you've ever wanted to really laugh at Bruce Willis, this is the film to do it in. ;)
