Summary: The Only Thing Thats ''Gone'' is your money....
Review: Gone in 60 Seconds is a movie About a Retired car-theif who comes out of retirement after his brother has got-in-over-his-head. So Nicolas Cage and His team round up to get 50 cars in 4 days. Now ''Rounding up the old team'' takes about 1/2 the movie. Angelina Jolie is Nick's Ex-Girlfriend who is so poorly used in this movie when she has potental to spare. The last 40 mins. is a pulse- pounding car chase but your so bored you don't really care. Gone in 60 seconds ends up trying to be as fast as ''Ronin'' and as funny as ''Smokey & the Bandit'' but fails each time.

Summary: Great car chases and funny
Review: I'm a fan of any movie with car chases, and this movie had some great ones. There were a few new elements added to the chase scenes to make them different than other movies, but it had some of the standard Dukes of Hazzard stunts which were very cool to watch. I was also surprised at how funny this movie was. If you love action packed flicks, go check this one out!

Summary: Rock'n'roll
Review: As expected from a Bruckheimer production, this adrenalin pumping movie was visually stimulating & entertaining. The soundtrack complemented the movie well. I particularly enjoyed the car chase scenes. A lot of cameo appearances by cars such as Porsche, Ferrari, Lambroghini, Bentley, Benz, Beemer, hotrods, & even cadillacs but the star of the show would definitely be the Mustang'67 which Nicholas depicted as his 'unicorn' or the jewel of the crown. For petrol heads, or car enthusiasts like myself, it's just sheer enjoyment listening to the grunts & revs of those beautiful machines in the movie. The story line was simple enough, younger brother of Nicholas Cage (acted by Phoebe's brother from Friends sitcom or the Doctor in Savings Private Ryan) followed the foot step of his elder brother in 'boosting' or stealing cars. Due to one of his fumble, his stolen cars were impounded by the Police & thus, his inability to produce the cars to his client (who happened to be a mean person who had craving for wood furniture) who would subsequently sold the cars to his South American clients for a hefty profit. So, unless Nicholas Cage (a legendary retired car thief) managed to steal 50 cars within 3 days time to redeem his brother, his brother would be returned in a coffin. Nicholas knew that he couldn't do all the stealing all on his own but he had to seek help from his ex accomplices who had since turned a new leaf. There were notably Robert Duvall who had since married & run a garage, a black guy who had become a car tutor, Angeline Jollie who played 'Sway' as a bar waitress & car mechanic & Nicholas' ex-love interest, a charismatic 'Sphinx' character played by this retired English soccer player who debuted in Lockstock Barelled Guns. Naturally, they came to Nicholas' rescue or else, the movie wouldn't be able to continue. Doesn't this remind you of Bruce Willis seeking the help of his misfit crew in saving the world in the movie, 'Armageddon'? Anyway, to make the movie more interesting, on top of having Nicholas stealing all those cars in 3 days, he had to be ahead of the cop who wanted to pin him down. Then, human element set in. Because Nicholas saved his life in the end, the cop would then set him free. A good ending which all audience are looking for. This is predictable of Jerry Bruckheimer's movies as displayed in 'The Rock' which Sean Connery was let go by the cop (played by William Forsyth) & the chemical specialist (played by Nicholas Cage), or even Nicholas Cage in 'Con-Air' working hand-in-hand with the cop. Funny slapsticks, beautiful cinematography, booming soundtrack, alluring vehicles with stunning car chase scenes, charimastic actors & actresses, well, 'Gone in 60 Seconds' have got all the right formulas for a blockbuster or money spinner. As long as you go to the cinema anticipating for a great rock'n'roll movie but not a arty farty or mentally challenging movie, then, you would definitely get your money's worth.

Review: This was a great movie. If you love great sound, fast cars, and good chase sequences, this is your movie! I'd go see it whenever you get the chance. The best movie I've seen this year. i hope The Patriot will be as good as this movie.

Summary: GREAT CAR FILM!
Review: "Gone in 60 Seconds" exists for one purpose: to show off some of the hottest cars in existence. The storyline is kind of hokey, but the cars more than make up for it, especially the GT 500. The car chase at the end is one of the best ever filmed! All the actors (Especially Robert Duvall, who can never give a bad performance) do fine in their roles. All in all, "Gone in 60 Seconds" is a one @#*& of a ride! Also, don't miss Christopher Eccleston (plays the villain, Raymond Vincent Calitri, in this film) this January, when he resurrects one of the greatest characters of all time, the Doctor, in BBC's new "Doctor Who" series. BBC plans to send it to American TV stations as well. Movie Grade: B+

Summary: Good Movie...Cage Needs More Sleep
Review: When I first went to see "Gone In 60 Seconds", I had never heard a word of it in previews or word-of-mouth. I never liked or could sit through any Nicholas Cage movies until this one though. Cage plays a rather lathargic Randall Raines, a reformed car theif who is unwillinglly drawn back into his old profession to save his younger brother Kip (The Wonder Years' Giovanni Ribisi) from death. Kip takes a car boosting job for the meanest car-theft ringleader in town (A part which even I could've played better than this guy), and faces the ultimate price for mistakes. To keep the big boss from killing his brother, Cage must round up old collegues to pull off the biggest boost of their lives. Some of his partners in crime include Angelina Jolie, Robert Duvall and my favorite...Vinnie Jones as The Sphinx. Each with his/her own special tallent, they work at moving 50 cars in 2 days to save little Raines. The one thing that kept the movie from running out of gas at the box-office I think, was the fact that they went in-depth as far as methods of boosting the cars...instead of knocking on someone's door and stealing the keys from the kitchen table. And there's a lot of laughs along the way that keep it from seeming like a re-run of CHIPS. Up-beat comedy makes the movie a lot better than it could've been, my favorite part was Nicholas Cage taunting a seriously ghettoed-out rival theif from inside a diner who was out kill him. The movie does have a few corney scenes that were obviously forced by a nerdy director...but the action, the laughs, and all the new stuff you learn about stealing cars these days is what makes it a good pick for me. I think this movies' like alcohol though, if you get in a car after it youre gonna feel like driving like a maniac. Nicholas Cage deffinately hits a mark with this one.

Summary: Its all about the cars
Review: Years ago Randall "Memphis" Raines (Nicolas Cage) was a legendary car booster. When he retired and left the Long Beach area auto theft went down fourty seven percent. His little brother Kip (Giovanni Ribisi) wants to be just like Randall and takes a job from a mobster who goes by the name of "The Carpenter". When Kip fumbles the boost Memphis is forced out of retirement and back into the life he thought he left behind. Randall then re-assembles his old crew and attempts to steal fifty cars in one night with the cops already on to them. You have to take this movie for what it is. Yes the dialoge is bad but it was still fun and very entertaining. What more do you expect from a Bruckhiemer film. This movie also has a great cast including Angelina Jolie, Delroy Lindo, Will Patton and Robert Duvall. However they were not used near enough. The only part I don't like is the jump scene on the bridge. The DVD has a decent amount on it including several featurettes and a trailer. The film is presented in widescreen DD 5.1 surround.

Review: A retired master car thief must come back to the industry and steal 50 cars with his crew in one night to save his brother's life. Gone in 60 seconds is a hidden gem in the Jerry Bruckheimer collection. Gone in 60 seconds and Raising Arizona are my two favorite Nicolas Cage movies. I really like the way Cage is the hero, and character you root for, without him having to be a tough guy. Cage's character is smart, crafty, and witty. He doesn't come off as tough or larger then life, which I think is ideal for a Cage character.
Dominic Sena (Kalifornia and Swordfish) directs this marvelous movie. He also directed the Janet Jackson video Rhythm Nation 1814. He does a fabulous job developing each character without providing you much of a background on any of them. The only thing you know about each character is they worked with Cage in the past.
Angelina Jolie plays a previous girlfriend who Cage skipped town on. She is reluctant to help Cage, but is sympathetic to his situation, and reluctantly joins in. Robert Duvall plays the father figure in Cages life who taught him all he knows about cars. Since Cage left he turned his chop shop into a classic car restoration center. Again, Duval reluctantly assists Cage, not because he was burned by Cage in the past like Jolie, but because he too is sympathetic to Cages situation.
Chi McBride provides the comic relief. McBride plays a character that used to run with cage in the old days, and now works for the DMV. His driving scene with the Asian girl where he makes the analogy about her not being able to drive and he not being able to swim is an all time classic. Vinnie Jones plays my favorite character in the movie, The Sphinx. Vinnie Jones may be better known for his role in Snatch, and like Snatch, his character in Gone in 60 seconds has an aura to him that oozes from the screen.
Gone in 60 Seconds is a fabulous movie, which is fun to watch, well directed, well put together, and is entertaining on multiple fronts. I truly think this is what Fast and Furious should have been like if it had this type of cast, and great people putting it together. Gone in 60 Seconds is a far superior movie in my opinion on all fronts: story, theme, plot, and acting. A should have in your DVD collection.

Review: I don't get these people.Gone In 60 Seconds is one of the most entertaining movies ever.With great characters and alot of bad ass cars,action,and everything else.Sure this isn't Lawrence of Arabia but what the hell indulge yourself once in awhile.
