Summary: A SECOND RUSH
Review: While I loved "Rush Hour" I couldn't stop laughing during "Rush Hour 2." I believe I started laughing when Jackie and Chris were singing "California Girls" and I didn't stop laughing until the outtakes where Chris says, "Oh you know he aint gonna be in Rush Hour 3" (When Ricky Tan gets kicked through the window by Jackie). I give this movie 5 stars because it delivers all the action you want and more comedy than you can handle. I'll be the first in line to see a third "Rush"...

Summary: Great action packed movie and very funny
Review: I thought Rush Hour 2 was the funnist movie ive seen in a long time. Jackie Chan and Chis Tucker reprise their roles as Lee (Chan) and Carter (Tucker). Lot of great scenes in the movie and lots of great fight scenes. I thought this movie was better than Rush Hour. So if you are a Jackie Chan fan or just want to see a great funny movie then this is for you.

Summary: Horrible -- Chris Tucker movie instead of Jackie Chan.
Review: As a fan of Rush Hour -- I thought it was great and enjoyed it thoroughly -- I had heard the bad reviews of Rush Hour 2 but went figuring I'd just have a good time and not expect a great movie. WRONG. I didn't laugh once for the first hour of the movie, the script was horrible, and Chris Tucker was unfunny. Where to begin? 1. The plot was racist and sexist -- leering at scantily clad asian women, lots of unfunny stereotypes about whites, blacks and asians. 2. Jackie Chan was completely out of character -- in the first he was self effacing and moral, apologetic as he beat people up, here he was alternately a leering peeping tom or someone who'd lie to his partner. 3. Stupid Plot -- no credibility, lame plot devices (the bad guy was Jackie's father's former partner -- sure.....), no credibility. 4. Chris Tucker unfunny and obnoxious -- and what member of the KKK wrote his part. No one is that stupid. 5. Stupid comic/social commentary on supposed racism against blacks at the hotel gaming table. See "the Animal" (? -- about the police candidate who gets transplanted animal parts) for a really clever running commentary on racism that pays off in a great joke at the end. The action finally got going and was clever in the hotel scenes at the end, but unfortunately sitting through the first hour of the movie didn't make the payoff worth it. This was embarassingly bad. Save your money.

Summary: "I have a dream..." (and it was terribly funny)
Review: Get ready for a second rush when JACKIE and CHRIS kick back in RUSH HOUR II. This time, picking up after the first film, Detective Lee (Chan) and L.A.P.D. Officer Carter (Tucker) are off to their vacation in Hong Kong. When Chinese smugglers are on the loose, the fastest hands in the east and the biggest mouth in the west must take action once more- again reprising Lee's kick butt martial arts and Carter's crude, fast mouth humor! From Hong Kong, L.A., to Las Vegas, Chan and Tucker leave behind a trail of action and humor every where they go! MY REVIEW: "It is time to laugh your head off till it explodes! With the same action and fun, Chan and Tucker still remain the best duo of them all- like GLOVER and GIBSON, CRUISE and EDWARDS, CLOONEY and O'DONNELL, J. FOX and LLOYD... it's all fun! THE ACTING: "B+" (Fun, hilarious, action-packed, and believable) THE STORY: "B" (Good, fun, but its a sequel which doesn't capture that originality, and hilarity. We knew what to expect this time.) THE ACTION: "B-" (It was deascent. There were some cool stunts from Chan like sliding through a tiny pay slot, running across the side of a semi-truck while hanging onto a chord, and climbing up a wall of bamboo. Tucker wasn't in the action as much except for him trying to pretend to be the karate master we all know he isn't. Like his excuses: "I'll take the stairs.") THE COMEDY: "B+" (This time, it is both Chan and Tucker that equally get the high bar for the comedy, where as Tucker did mostly in the original. EXAMPLE: Earlier, Tucker made a comment to Chan about B-tch slapping him back to Hong Kong if he ever tries that sh-t again. LATER: Chan and Tucker are tied in a big truck stocked with statues filled with cash. Chan and Tucker argue and Chan says: "You better shut up Carter or i'll B-tch Slap you back to Africa!" The comedy is hilarious, but I expected most of it.) THE DIRECTING: "A-", (Brett Ratner always makes funny films like RUSH HOUR and MONEY TALKS. This film is just downright fun and funny! I had a good time watching this for an hour and a half.) OVERALL: "A great slap-shot action comedy! A great, worthy and fun sequel! An excellent way to spend an hour and a half your time! Tucker and Chan are geniuses- the ultimate duo this summer!"- MJV & the Movies.

Summary: Great Way to Spend an hour and a half
Review: Rush Hour 2 is a great example of pure entertainment. Jackie Chan is very funny, in his innocent Chinese way. Chris Tucker gets annoying, but it adds to the odd duo relationship between Chris and Jackie Chan. The plot and storyline aren't superb, but it's more than expected for an action-comedy. The laughs are either very funny or stupid, but most laughs don't involve outrageous amounts of unnecessary cussing. Overall, the movie is funny and entertaining, with well choreographed fight scenes. Make sure to stay for the hilarious bloopers at the end.

Summary: Another winner from Jackie
Review: I missed the first Rush Hour, so I can't compare this one to it, but I thought this one was excellent. If the first one was half as good, I'll probably rent it.

In the midst of the mediocre lineup of movies playing the silver screen this summer, Jackie Chan's latest is another winner. Jackie continues with his amazing ability to create one of a kind martial arts scenes and stunts, and Chris Tucker as his sidekick has a mouth that is as fast as Jackie's hands, spewing out insults and funny one-liners at everyone and anything.

Jackie's dialog isn't as funny as in some of his previous movies, but that's okay, as Chris is pretty much the comic force in this movie. But Jackie's comic timing is also amazingly good, and I hope he'll bring some of that back in future movies.

The fight scenes in the movie are top-notch; one can't help but wonder what would happen if Jet Li and Jackie Chan got together. In fact, I wasn't that impressed with the fight scenes in Li's most recent movie, notwithstanding Li's amazing abilities, but it looks like he could use a little help from Jackie to make the best use of his talents on-screen. I can't imagine a better martial arts duo to bring something like this to the screen than Jackie and Li.

Anyway, this movie was a refreshing break from the boring lineup (although Shrek is excellent) so far this summer.

Summary: A good example of a bad movie
Review: Is this a Kung Fu movie or comedy? Well the fights where boring and unimaginative. Unlike previous Jackie Chan movies. This movie pales in comparison to movies like Drunken Master and Rumble in the Bronx both in the comedic and action sense. The comedy on the other and relies mainly on Tucker's character being a village idiot. Witch at times made me chuckle just out of pity. I do agree that the out takes where the funniest part of the movie. In closing I would just like to say don't be suckered in by all the advertising brain washing that says this is anything but a B rate movie

Summary: Best Action Since Rush Hour 1!
Review: This movie has it all, it's got action mixed with humor it is fun for any age. It is not that violent and has a lot of cursing but it is still apporiate for children. This is a movie that you must see. You and your friends will love it. It is about 2 cops who take on the triad (a crimal organization). This movie reveals who Lei's father's killer was.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A good kick - but nothing else
Review: Jackie Chan does his thing. Chris Tucker talks does his thing. A good laughs, A few good action shots. Put together the movie is your average action-comedy flick. Nothing exceptional - usual shaky story line.

If you're on a tight cinema budget and are looking for a funny action flick check out the Kiss of the Dragon first. Overall not worth the [money]. Without the novelty that Rush Hour had, it is just an average mildly amusing action flick!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: ONE OF THE SUMMER'S BEST MOVIES
Review: While Rush Hour 2 isn't excellent, it still delivers all the humor and action that it promises. Chris Tucker's remarks are as funny as ever and so are Jackie Chan's stunts. But it is hard to say which of the two movies are funnier. Last time, it was a kidnapping, this time it's a crime ring. The story and villains in Rush Hour 2 are it's biggest drawback. The villains aren't as good as the original ones. Aside from the girl, the villains are pretty boring. If you liked the original, you'll probably like this one. If you didn't even like the first one, this probably won't change you mind.
