Summary: One you will never forget
Review: The first time i saw this movie 27 years ago i was just a child, It kept me on the edge of my seat then and it does the same now. A classic!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A BREAKTHROUGH IN CINEMA - BUT NO CLASSIC
Review: They say that time is a healer, sadly however this is not the case with Boormans 'Deliverance'. As thrillers go it stands up well to todays regular 'trash', however failing to ever impact on the viewer enough to leave you on edge. Despite commendable performances and harrowing scenes the film drifts along for long periods with no saving grace from the script. Indeed, you could also argue the case for a rapidly composed ending, which seems to leave many relevant questions unanswered for no apparent reason. Saved by scenes such as the 'dualling banjos' and Boormans classy direction, Deliverance is rightly plauded by the critics for its cinematic bite and influence on Hollywood. Alas, it really is a shame the storyline is largely toothless.

Summary: One of the most under-rated films ever
Review: It is Burt Reynolds' greatest performance (narrowly beating his performances in "Boogie Nights" and "The Longest Yard"). Jon Voight is great in this film as well. I admit I do not like most of Boorman's films, but I have seen this one dozens of times and I still enjoy it. I would also recommend the novel by James Dickey (it includes background information on the characters which is only hinted at in the film).

Summary: Keeps you on the edge of your seat!
Review: Not a dull moment in this. I have never seen a movie that was so full of tension! You just never knew what was around the next bend of the river. This was Reynolds and Voigt at their best! All the subterfuge at the end continued to heighten the tension even more. That last scene in the movie was something I will never forget! What a nightmare!

Summary: somewhat terrifying
Review: while i can't say the whole film was terrifying,i'd have to say the first half or so and some scenes after were terrifying.

Summary: Hear That? Five Stars!!
Review: Worth it, if nothing else for the very end. THE scariest ending of a non-horror movie EVER.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: JUST STAY HOME!!
Review: Forget "The Blair Witch Project",this is the real(scary)deal. Might make you re-consider taking that weekend camping trip.

Summary: Horrific and stunning!
Review: A great example of the fine line between the civilized world and the need to survive that is within us all. John Voight is awesome as a mild-mannered businessman who must think and act to get himself and his friends out of a terrible situation. His climb up a side of a mountain to stalk the gunman stalking *them* is a classic.A tale of survival, of man at his best... and worst.

Summary: Can you squeal like a pig???
Review: Great movie, plot, actors etc. A classic that you should add to your list of must see movies.

Summary: You'll Never Want to Go Camping or Hiking in North Georgia
Review: This 1972 film packed a powerful punch when released that still holds up today. Burt Reynolds gives the finest performance of his screen career as one of four Atlanta businessmen who decide to spend a weekend canoeing down a river before a dam is built that changes the course of the river and the terrain of the area around it. Jon Voight, Ned Beatty, and Ronny Cox are unforgettable as the remainding members of the foursome. Action, thrills, terror, and a brilliant soundtrack make Deliverance one of the true classics of the American cinema.
