Summary: Excellent Family Movie!
Review: I'm extremely pleased with the release of Snow Dogs on DVD. I appreciate seeing good family movies that I can also leave my kids alone in the room and not have to worry about what they are viewing.I really enjoyed the story line and I thought that Cuba Gooding JR. as always did a wonderful job acting this part. The movie captured both children and adults attention and is easily enjoyed by any age group. This movie became an instant favorite at my house and will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Summary: Snow Dogs is alright
Review: I bought the VHS thinking that the dogs actually talked throughout the entire movie. It is only in a little clip that they talk, and it's in Cuba's dream where this happens.
The movie kind of reminded me of two other movies. One is Cool Runnings, and the other is Coming to America, Starring Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. I liked the humor, which didn't turn out to be sick humor, but actually sentimental, clean fun with a good moral. Cuba Gooding and James Coburn make quite the pair in this movie. Coburn plays a cold, almost lengendary person who fits his role well. He is as cold as ice, with such a soft side. Not once did I get aggravated by watching Snow Dogs. I think that if you want really well produced movies, with well picked cast and fantastic acting, you gotta pick this movie for what it's worth.

Summary: A Good Comfort Movie
Review: Whenever I'm a little down, all I have to do is pop in this movie. I rented the movie expecting a cheesy movie about talking dogs. What I got was a more sophisticated Disney movie about a man, played by Cuba Gooding Jr., trying to find his place in the world when he discovers that he was adopted. When he recieves the will of his real mother, he travels to Alaska to sort everything out, and hopefully discover something that he has been missing out on. Something that maybe he was meant to do with his life. What he gets is a group of sled dogs. Gooding did such a wonderful job with this movie, and James Coburn, who plays The Mean Guy Who Doesn't Like Anybody, is really funny. Do not get this movie if you are expecting the dogs to talk. They only talk in a dream sequence. This movie isn't really about the dogs anyway. It doesn't detract from this movie at all, though. This is a wonderful movie, with some very funny scenes and one-liners. You won't be disappointed.

Review: Snow Dogs was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Cuba Gooding Jr. was excellent (he always is) and James Coburn has the "mean ol' man" act down to a "T". Good clean, wholesome fun movie. Wonderful for the whole family. A real breath of fresh air.

Summary: Awsome DVD
Review: I really enjoyed this DVD. It was definetly enjoyable. Sure, the trailer was indeed misleading, for the dogs don't talk for real. It's just a dream Ted (the main character) has. I like Demon (the lead dog husky), he is funny is an evil way. The dogs are cute, and basically this is a funny movie with cute dogs and good comedy. You can tell the movie's going to be good just by the plot...a Miami dentist going to Alaska. Big deal the DVD isn't big screen, we should be concerned with the movie itself, not the way it is shown. Certain parts of the movie may get a little blah, but most of it doesn't.

Review: I figure they did this to sell 2 copies. In a year?? you'll be able to buy a deluxe edition that has both formats. Just had to respond to NJ. If it's not in widescreen why did you have to push full screen to remove black bars? You are among the majority who watch dvds on your huge pc screen? Did someone say DUH?

Summary: ELEVEN YEAR OLD REFUSES FULL SCREEN FORMAT
Review: My family and I really enjoy this movie and want to add it to our collection. However, my eleven year old daughter asked me not to order this DVD when she found out it was not presented in widescreen format; the way she saw it in the theater. Come on Disney, even young children are savey enough to notice Pan & Scan just doesn't cut it! With all the negative comments regarding recent Disney P&S releases, when will Disney ever give the consumer what they deserve?

Summary: Just For Kids Who Love Dogs and Never Complain
Review: First, don't be a fool like me, believing that those lovely Siberian huskies can talk in "Babe" fashion in this film. They don't, in spite of the participation of Jim Henson's studio. Second, adults, don't expect anything original from Brian Levant, who sat on director's chair before with the films like "The Flintstones" and its sequel, and "Beethoven," another movie in which a dog steals every moment. Cuba Gooding Jr. plays a dentist in Miami, who receives a surprise present in Alaska. That, as you know, turns out to be a pack of dogs trained for a dog race on the snow, and before saying good-bye to them to go back to the sunshine, he begins to feel a kind of tie with them, as you expect. And he finds love in Joanna Bacalso, strong-willed and cute bar owner there, so why hurry then? And it seems that he got a score to settle with James Coburn, headstrong, veteran dog racer who has somehow something in common with him. So, he stays for all these contrived reasons, and you get a chance to watch him holding the reins of very wilful dogs who appear to dedicate themselves to annoying him. The story is as weak as that, making no sense or showing any moment of getting us involved, like that of "The Flintstones." To make matters worse, the film attempts to get laughs whenever it is given a chance, but in most cases falls flat because it doesn't know anything but too obvious, clithe-filled slapsticks. If you think of only kids in mind, it makes little difference, but to adults, it is often excruciating to watch them repeatedly between cloying sentimental moments despite the best effort coming from Cuba Gooding Jr. The dogs are cute and lovely, and those who love them may find the film likable, but their screen time should have been longer, considering the fact that these funny dogs easily steal the scenes, in fact, so easily. Especaily the leader dog "Demon" will impress you more than any humans in the film, including a special appearance of Michael Bolton. The film also shows Nichelle Nichols, Uhula of the original Star Trek series, and Graham Greene of "Dance with the Wolves," but their presence is sadly overshadowed by unfunny, banal physical gags you might have seen years ago. The location is beautiful, and the heroine Joanna Bacalso is good, but the film meanders too long before it reaches the goal, as if lost in a snow wilderness.

Summary: A great family movie
Review: When we rented this DVD I was excited to see it but I expected just a cute kid's movie with cute dogs. Well this DVD was a cute kid's movie but it also had a great story, something I hadn't expected. This DVD with it's touching moments of rescues from the fierce Alaskan storms, to the funny moments of Dr. Ted Brooks, a dentist from Miami played by Cuba Gooding Jr., trying to learn to "mush" is a great family film. My 8-year-old sister loved it and my mom and I, a 13-year-old, enjoyed it also. This is a DVD I would recommend for the whole family.

Review: Funny and entertaining - yes, but very predictable and a bit too unbelievable.
I do think the movie does a good job in conveying the different personalities of the dogs. But all togther, it's kind of weak, and before it ended my intrest was melting. Seen it once and that was enough, it's one of those kind of movies.
