Rating: Summary: Don't miss EXCESS BAGGAGE! Review: The critics didn't know what they were talking about and unfortunatly I put off seeing this film for a long time. Bad mistake. I now wish I had seen it on the big screen because this was one of the most unique and entertaining films I have seen in the past year. Alicia Silverstone and Benicio Del Toro are great together. This film was a very pleasant surprise. Don't miss it!
Rating: Summary: Agonizing Review: The only movie I've ever walked out of a theater during because it was so painful to watch...
Rating: Summary: Silverstone can't even keep this comedy afloat. Review: This film has bad acting, bad plotting, and bad writing. The film was obviously made only to showcase Silverstone's charm so comically shown in "Clueless", but she, nor any other cast members, is not given enough to work with. Only gets 2 stars for a couple of funny (but not that funny) lines, and the fact that I loved "Clueless"!
Rating: Summary: Kind of fun...del Toro looks great! Review: This is a silly film, but I liked it anyway. Emily (Silverstone) never gets any attention from her rich dad. Mom died when Emily was very young, so she has been richly neglected for years. Emily stages a kidnapping, only to be inadvertently kidnapped by a car thief played by Benicio del Toro. I admit, I rented the film to see him. I wasn't disappointed in seeing del Toro in this film. The story is not that great, but after I saw it the second time (to see del Toro, okay!) it kind of grew on me. Christopher Walken plays Silverstone's uncle to perfection.
Rating: Summary: correction .1 star, sorry Review: This is the lamest of the lame. Alicia Silverstone can't act, sorry to say she never could. It totally lacks a plot, writing, talent, anything else you can think of. This is a horrible attempt at entertainment. I cannot reccomend this "movie."
Rating: Summary: I got a twinkie in the car . . . Review: This movie cracks me up. It's amazing how much charm Benicio Del Toro is able to infuse into a mumbling car thief. Walken is superb and there are some very funny moments. Alicia Silverstone manages to play 18 and full of it very well indeed, and of course she always looks attractive. The script and direction are perhaps at odds with producing high caliber performances, but overall, I really enjoyed it. Filmed in Victoria, apparently.
Rating: Summary: A great movie Review: This movie is about a spoiled girl named Emily (Alicia Silverstone) who's father doesn't love her. So she stages her own kidnapping and locks her self in the trunk of her car. But before her father can find her, her car is stolen by the charming Vincent played by gorgeous Benicio del Toro. Benicio del Toro is sooo charming in this movie, you will just fall in love with him. I first went to see this movie and I didn't like it. But one day I was at the movie store and I was at a loss for what to rent, so I rented this. Thank God I did! This has been my favorite movie ever since. Two days after I ran out and bought it. One of my all time favorite lines comes from this movie. It is said by Vincent (del Toro) "I got a twinkie in the car. It's all yours if you want it."
Rating: Summary: The underdog gets his girl! Review: This movie is excellent! It provides you with humor and (unlike a lot of recent movies ex. Mars Attacks) a believable plot! del Toro is excellent in playing the shy underdog who gets the girl!
Rating: Summary: Great movie underrated and overlooked Review: This movie is hilarious, witty, intelligent. Del Toro, Silverstone, and Walken are great in their roles. Certainly not for everyone, but this quirky, dark comedy is for those who are looking for something more than the staple romantic comedy.
Rating: Summary: Bad, bad movie. Bad movie. Bad. Review: This movie was not only far-fetched and pathetically scripted, Alicia Silverstone's performance was awful. She was in the movie for one purpose: to show the audience that the set was cold. Very cold. (And if anyone doesn't know what I mean by this, watch about 16 seconds of the movie. Remember, only 16 seconds. Longer exposure could cause permanent damage). Bluntly put (as if the rest of this was tactful) Excess Baggage was very, very bad. Granted, that is my opinion. If you don't believe me, watch it. I just didn't want anyone's stupidity on my conscience. Remember: bad movie. As always, rather than watching this movie, I'd recommend watching The Terminator again.
