Summary: PURE DELIGHT
Review: This is simply a pure delight. If you are the adventurer type you would LOVE this very well executed movie. People who didn't like this movie are the kind of people who wouldn't enjoy Indiana Jones movies. The movie so well captures the spirit of adventure, the scenes are so spectacular, the music so magical, its a delight to watch. I have originally seen in on the big screen and this is where all the splendor of the movie is really felt. Less dramatic than Indiana Jones movies, Cutthroat Island is still old-fashined fun with the best tradition of sit back and have a great time. Highly entertaining.

Review: I have seen some reviews on this movie, some of them I will never understand. Cutthroat Island is a sweeping, HIGHLY entertaining action movie. It is fast paced, never boring with great plot. It is on the light side of drama, and quite amusing. A person who wouldn't like this movie, is a person who will never enjoy a movie in his life as this is what fun is all about. Worst movie ever made? I think you are the worst critic ever existed.... Forget the critics and enjoy a purely entertaining fun ride!

Summary: Not as bad as its reviews made it out to be.
Review: Cutthroat Island had lots of potential, but didn't quite live up to it. Not that the movie is bad. It's just that some of the acting was disappointing. For the first half of the movie, Geena Davis' character, Morgan was kind of unbelievable. However, Frank Langella's portrayal of the villain, Dog, was nothing short of spectacular. Awesome sets and beautiful costumes make this movie a must see for any pirate fan!

Review: I'm a big-time film buff and this movie holds the title of "WORST MOVIE EVER MADE" - which is no small feat. This is the movie by which I compare all bad movies I see to... I say something like - yeah that movie sucked, but it wasn't as bad as Cutthroat Island! or I'll say - That movie was almost as bad as Cutthroat Island. Avoid this movie at ALL cost! It's not even bad in a good way - like so bad it's funny - there's nothing funny about this heaping pile of worthlessness waste of time.

Review: This has got to be the most crappiest, idiotic, pointless, shallow, boring film of all time! It has no logic whatsoever and the props are atrocious! The actors like Geena Davis and Matthew Modine are horribly miscast. This movie has no meaning and my friend said he'd bet me 20 bucks that I can't stay awake during this garbage. I asked, "how bad can it be?" I rented it, he watched over me so I wouldn't fall asleep. I lost the $20......

Review: Cutthroat island was a simply awesome movie. A Beautiful heroine, pirates everywhere...Both classic and modern. About every 6 out of 10 people watching it would think it was an awesome movie. The music in it is classicly cool while the filming breathtaking.....Put it all together and you have got yourself one awesome movie.

Review: If your family enjoyed "The Mask of Zorro", you should give this movie a try as well. Geena Davis played a great role. Pirates, sword fighting, a little corny on the comedy side, but still quite fun to watch.

Summary: I loved it. It was pure entertainment.
Review: This movie is the kind of thing that lets you escape into a fantasy world of long ago. The stunts were excellent. The scenery was beautiful. The battle scene between the two pirate ships was so realistic. There are plenty of action scenes and the conflict between good and evil is classic. This movie makes me feel good every time I see it, and I have seen it 7 times to date. If you are a fan of swashbuckling movies and have a love for the legends of pirates, I highly recommend this movie. Genna Davis as Mogan Adams was totaly sexy and I must say, she could pilage my treasure anytime.

Summary: Granted, it's not the best movie of all time...
Review: Well, to say the least, Cutthroat Island is an absolute bomb - it earned scathing reviews and hardly any money. Still, as a bomb it does its job. Granted, this movie's plot should be clear to you once you have read the blurb on the back of the carton. Granted also that the movie features lines such as "do you think I was born last tuesday?" And yes, Geena Davis can't act and Matthew Modine looks like he needs a pee break in the near future. But please don't tell me you watch pirate movies for a plot! If cannonfights, swordfight, kicks in genitalia, carriage chases, fistfights, treasure maps, explosions galore is what you are looking for - you've got it. And better done than in many superior movies: The setpieces are beautiful, the action scenes bombastic. Just fast-forward the plot-driven parts of the movie... or laugh at them...
