Summary: THE EYES TELL-ALL!!
Review: Of the short stories written by Philip K. Dick and made into movies (that I have seen, the order would be (1) blade runner, (2) Minority Report, and (3)
Total Recall, and last but not least (4) Impostor.I was pleasantly surprised to find Cruise really put-on the acting ability. This was quite a heavy load for him to carry. Second flick for him to do facials this on similar to vanilla sky, but different. The cinematography and action scenes were nothing short of pure alchemy, esp. the scene of Tom and the robo-cops duking it out while flying thru the air on back-pack -jets. Pure genius!! The cities and cars and general background was for the most part was realistic. Oh, don't forget to save room for a few chuckles as there are some lite hearted dialog and scenes and if u are not thinking this is a sometimes laughable movie it will pass u by. Max von Sydow plays his part to the hilt as always> He is Tom's mentor and CEO of the PreCrime development org. Anna Marie Horsford plays a delightful part as the eccentric programmer of the Precogs program, which consists of three teens floating in a bath of neuro fluids which enable them to see premeditated murders and when they have a psychic reading there is a machine which spits out a ball with the murderers name on it. Tom gets the ball and thru a series of telepathic sequencing from the Precogs-produces the crime scene on a screen and he uses his finger pointers to capture what is relevant to the crime. Once they know where the murder is going to happen they as a unit go after the pre murder-murderer.
this movie is a very good sci-fi movie with some twists and turns and enough action to keep ur eyes glued to the screen, speaking of eyes P. K. Dick has a thing with eyes. He seems to think that we will only be able to do business with the screening of the eyes. The cameras are everywhere and as u walk along thru the corridors of the Malls each shop reads ur eyes and says ur name and the last time u were in and bought something. In parting listen closely when Tom goes shopping for the Precog. I gave this flick (4) rating.

Summary: Boring and Long
Review: Although the special effects were good I found the film to be long and boring. I kept thinking it was going to end but it seemed to go on forever. Went with a friend and she as well was unimpressed. I realize most people seem to be giving this film a high rating but I guess it was just not for me. Not even the color of the film was impressive as it seemed dark and blue tinted. I would not ever sit through this again. I guess my report fits the title minority report as my views are in the minority of other reviewers.

Summary: Brilliant Guest Appearance from the Carnivorous Plants
Review: But the movie? Well it failed to engage the emotions by and large, whilst being more significantly more cerebral that your average sci-flick, dramatic tension was present, but not exceptionally realised, whilst visuals were good but not stunning or overly original. The plot was overly convoluted, but as others have pointed out, didnt stand serious scrutiny. The central premise of the movie, whilst philosophical interesting is not really scientific, though it as a common enough theme in SF. But its exploration of old fashioned fortune tellers in a futuristic guise lacks the social relevance AI might have had if Spielberg had been able to fight of his apparently overwhelming desire to fuse Bladerunner and Pinnochio to the detriment of all else. All in all its worth seeing, but don't set your sights at the highest level, this movie doesnt cut the mustard with the likes of Clockwork Orange or Bladerunner.

Summary: a new slant on the future
Review: Wow, this movie was great fun to watch. The best part was how my thoughts kept coming back to the movie through the days since I have seen it. It gives me exciting possibilities about the future of our country. Violence has been so prevalent and a huge concern to us all and now I can actually seee a future without all the violence. Think of it, a great action movie with no buildings exploding, cars crashing and people's dead bodies flying through the air. I get so sick of violent movies and this movie showed me the possibility of something even more exciting than the thrill of normal action movies. Also intrigue and a ton of possibilities for future technology. This excites me.

Summary: Weird
Review: This movie would have been great if Stephen Spielberg wouldn't have tried so much weird stuff. Some of the movie is in Black and White, some isn't. Some action scenes are filmed by someone running with a camera which makes it nearly impossible to focus on whats going on and took me totally out of the movie.
This movie should also be rated R. Numerous murder scenes shown throughout the movie, eyeballs being taken out of peoples head and carried in ziploc bags, and multiple sex (not love) scenes carry this movie, in my mind, past the PG-13 marker.
Still for the two hours of the movie that were entertaining I give this movie three stars.

Summary: Spielberg's best work since "Schindlers List"
Review: Easily the best film so far this year, "Minority Report" is well worth the money and the time of even the most casual moviegoer. MR is filled with entertaining and unexpected plot twists, as well as enlightening predictions about the future of the American criminal justice system and the basic future of the human race. Most important, however, is MR's thought-provoking messages about fate and pre-destination. "Minority Report" is a very fine film well worth the hype. I couldn't recommend this film more.

Summary: better than Vanilla Sky
Review: I had pretty much thought Vanilla Sky wasn't worth the effort--and after seeing the trailer for MR..I was a bit reluctant--but I was glad I went. This movie was unbelievable in it's setting, characters and plot. I was completely blown away by the storyline and the conversations that ensued after the movie was over were great!

Summary: Thought-Provoking and Visually Stunning, But Weak Plot
Review: This movie has undoubtedly some merits. The richness of visual imagery is at the same level as "Star Wars - The Attack of The Clones," "The Godfather," and "Blade Runner." Spielberg is without question a master at moviemaking. In general, I cannot criticize the artistic side of this movie. It is artful, sophisticated, rich in details, and, as a whole, a pleasure for the eyes. From this point of view, I agree with the movie critic Roger Ebert.
But I did not enjoy the movie that much. Plot-wise, I think it was weak. What ruined it for me was that I figured out who the guilty guy was after about twenty minutes, and that is not acceptable in a suspense movie. Now, since I do not consider myself a genius when it comes to figuring out thriller outcomes, I figure that there is something inherently wrong with the plot itself. It was too schematic, and, therefore, predictable.
The philosophical aspect of this movie was interesting, but not in the way some movie critics or reviewers want us to believe. I read a review by another movie critic, who was praising all the mind-boggling questions regarding predestination and free will raised by this movie, and I disagree with him. It is like dedicating years of intensive study to the history of eastern and western philosophy with awe and respect and then finding out that the Book of Ecclesiastes had already addressed, digested, and settled those arguments once and for all three thousand years ago. This movie critic wants the viewer to believe that this movie kind of leaves the viewer in a similar frame of mind, wondering about predestination and free will as soon as the credits start rolling. Maybe most viewers will, and maybe this movie will start a fierce debate between Calvinists and Anti-Calvinists, but it does none of that to me. Actually, if this movie proves something philosophically, it proves that even if men could foresee the future, they are so morally degenerate and unmerciful that that capability would be extremely dangerous. If you want evidence, just look at how they treated the Pre-Cogs; did those poor guys not have any rights of their own? They were treated worse that slaves, always forced to live in the future and never in the present.
In conclusion, I think this movie is worth watching. It is a feast for the eyes and raises philosophical questions, indeed. The answers are out there.

Summary: AWSOME, AWSOME, AWSOME!!!!!
Review: This was one excellent film. Visually dazzling. Spielberg is one hell of a director. This film is not what I expected, but it was just pure greatness. Great acting, great script, great dialogue, sweet action scenes, and of course great directing. I just loved the look and feel of Minority Report. Of course not everyone will enjoy it as much as me cause it was different. 2 thumbs way up. Highly reccomended.
