Summary: have you ever do skyjumping?
Review: it is not snipes best movie...but one of the best movies about skyjumping. this movie brings you the feeling of jumping out of a plane staight to your tv. the action sequenzes are very realistic and the story is full of suspense. if you are interested in skydiving, watch this movie one thumb up

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not Very Real, But Good Fun
Review: Let's face it, this was a fun movie and I liked it. I enjoy most flicks with Wesley Snipes in 'em. And, although a novice, I love skydiving. That was the fun part. From Yancy dumping Snipes from the Porter sans parachute to their makeshift tandem nighttime landing on a rooftop, it was ridiculously fun in a silly way. Imagine becoming skilled enough to jump in a major big-way in what, two weeks' time? Great. And the absurdity of the skydivers being anything but friendly and open to a "whuffo" (a ground-grabbing outsider) made for a top-order, unimagineable fight scene. Great stuff. I just hope that when my main canopy snivels and I can't break away, I make out as well as their jumping buddy... i.e., live through the experience. Blue Skies and Fair Winds! Watch the movie, then jump from a perfectly good airplane from 2 & 1/2 miles up.

Summary: Save your money and go skydiving for real
Review: The consistent recommendation that this is the "greatest skydiving movie ever" hardly pulls DROP ZONE from its plotless, actorless nosedive. After all, how many skydiving movies have there been? Even taking into account the sporadically engaging drop sequences, this film is hardly worth renting, much less owning.

The movie's single biggest flaw is its script, which is plagued by a wafer-thin plot. Worse, it never manages to give its audience the sparest reason to care for any of the characters. Nor are its flat lines delivered with any real enthusiasm. Wesley Snipes is so entirely sleepwalking through this production that he gives up even trying to LOOK like the star of the picture by the end, where he's too-often seen in a ridiculous motorcycle helmet more appropriate to an episode of FAT ALBERT than to a major motion picture. Gary Busey is particularly laughable as the heavy. Granted, he's given some of the very worst lines in the script, but even his body language conveys no sense of menace.

There's not even a real romantic subplot to distract the audience from the inadequacies of the main plot. Rather, Snipes and Yancy Butler dance around the edges of emotional involvement but never really take it anywhere. Given Butler's as-yet-undiscovered acting talent, that's somewhat of a double tragedy.

[DVD Notes: There's nothing here. Really. Nothing.]

Summary: Unmemorable aerial suspenser
Review: The plot of "Drop Zone" is virtually a scene-for-scene rehash of Snipes's more solid and more action-packed "Passenger 57". The aerial hijacking, the formula revenge plot and the final confrontation with the chief villain are transferred from the earlier film with very little variation. Some of the skydiving stunts are simply breathtaking; the rock score is brilliant, but, eventually, the film is let down by its modest script, its lack of a sexual interest and unmemorable storyline. Unlike "Passenger 57" it is an aerial thriller that fails to go airborne but crash-lands unspectacularly into a sea of forgettability.

Summary: Outrageous Stunts
Review: This could have been a five-star film. But the directors excised Wesley and Yancey's love scene (it didn't fly with test audiences, pun intended), and these two have tremendous chemistry (plus, any chance to see Yancy Butler nude must be pursued). But the stuntwork is incredible, and even the hokiest stunt -- Snipes' mid-air pursue of a parachute-less Butler -- is romantic. Great INXS song at the end of the flick.

Summary: When i first saw this mid-air action, it blew me away.
Review: This is one of the best Skydiving Action thrillers ever made, Wesley Snipes is brilliant as a US Marshal whoses brother is killed by airjet skydiving terrorists lead by actor Gary Busey, who captures a passenger. Snipes shaken up by his brother's death, decides to team up with skydiving experts, to find the terrorists, and stop them from robbing a high-rised bank on Independence day. This film has great action scenes, special effects filled skydiving sequences, and a good song at the end.

Summary: A must see for all skydivers and "wuffos" that wanna be
Review: This movie besides being action packed conveys the excitement of skydiving to the viewer in an astoundingly real way. It is a must see movie for anyone that has or wants to ever skydive!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: People actually LIKE this movie?
Review: Well for a weak plot, and inferior effects, I guess it's ok. Who am I kidding!? This movie was not good at all! Snipes has done much, MUCH better than this, although it wasn't all his fault. I believe the most entertaining part was with the photocopier, and if I had to pick one outstanding pathetic part, it would be the chick saving Snipes' rear end, without safety gear. (By the way, physics determines that little flying upwards stunt utterly impossible) Why one star? Because I had to put something! Anyway, if you liked this movie, all the power to you, but I did not find it that great.
