Review: This movie has everything, comedy, horror, love story, special effects...what more can you ask for? Only problem with the movie was that it was way too short. I thought it ended really quick, well...maybe I was the only one. But still a great film to watch with a group of people.

Review: Yowzers! What a fun film! Who among us was NOT shouting to the screen telling the human characters to RUUUUN! Or to HURRY UP AND Get OUTTA THE WATER! Or was NOT in awe of how our boy the Crock took on the bear--Jiminy Crunketts, I think I would have left the country if I saw THAT in person...Betty White did a little bit of her Rose from "The Golden Girls" persona on this, but, of course, she turned out to be a little more twisted...this is good, this is fun! Get the popcorn out for this one...

Review: I have to agree with some of the other reviewers; Lake Placid was somewhat cheesey. I found myself rooting for the crocodile during most of the movie. This film should have been 2 hours long so as to allow for more character development. Betty White gives the best performance here; she gets creative with the saucy language too !

Summary: Edge of your seat....full of laughter
Review: This movie wasn't what I had expected it to be... I expected a typical horror film with a typical plot. During the course of the movie I was at the edge of my seat laughing, tense, and sometimes screaming at the characters in the movie. The main point of the movie in my point of view wasn't the horror, but the hilarious wise-cracks and interaction amongst the characters.

Review: I was Expecting Lake Placid to be dull, and boring like Deep Blue Sea, but it suprised me! Lake Placid Is more of a comedy movie, then a knock-yer-socks off action packed thriller! I rented this movie, and im anxtiously waiting for it to come out on VHS. A very good movie.

Review: This movie is an entertaining flick to see and see again. The special effects are OK. Not as good as 'Deep Blue Sea', but still good. Although slow at times, 'Lake Placid' is the perfect movie for boring or stormy nights. If I were to change it, I would have the croc kill more people. Only 2 people get killed and that is not enough. The opening scene in which a swimmer get chomped in half and lives to feel the pain (for about 6 seconds) is without a doubt the sickest part of the movie. Go pick it up now. You'll be glad that you did.

Summary: a suprizingly great film
Review: I was genuinely suprized when I saw this. It works on so many levels. The effects are great and gory. The characters are very funny and interact well together. But overall, it is an excellent homage to earlier Giant Animal movies (such as Alligator or Prophecy). A brilliant big-budget B-movie brought to a new level. Anyone who didn't like it obviously either didn't see it, didn't get it, or just wasn't paying attention. This is a great film, and probably one of the most underrated ones of the decade. So if you like good gore effects or dark humor...definately get this one. Accept no substitute and listen to no naysayer.....

Review: My husband and I received this dvd from my dad, who bought it and saw nothing redeemable about it. We, however, loved it! I had assumed this was a "Jaws" type flick, but instead discovered a clever, hilarious little gem. Don't look too deep for plot or substance, just enjoy the humorous interaction of the characters.

Review: I think one reviewer went overboard calling this movie "brilliant"? Yes it was campy and over the top. Betty White's character was kinda sorta funny but it was so obvious they were trying way too hard to be shocking. Of course hearing Betty White say the f word is gonna make your jaw drop. Lake Placid tried to capitalize on this approach and at times it worked. The humour was shocking and offensive but also overdone. It became tedious at times, each scene getting worse and worse as the movie went along. Finally, the movie disinigrated towards the very end. I was actually hoping the alligator was going to kill all of them (except for the cow in the sling), which by the way was a very cruel tactic. Who I really wanted to see get it was Oliver Platt's character. Why wasn't he thrashed by the alligater? He deserved it! The jerk! Did anyone notice the bad rhinoplasty on Bridget Fonda? Try using better lighting! I'm sure Bridget was not pleased!

Review: i really dont know how i was able to endure this bomb. i guess it was because i was watching it with my friend and his dad who picked it out and i didnt want to offend them. but no doubt if i was by myself i would have fallen asleep or walked out after the first ten minutes of this loser
