Summary: there aren't too many "good" Norris movies.
Review: There are some detailed fight sequences, and the idea of crossing an action movie with science fiction made this weird movie worth viewing. There aren't too many entertaining chuck norris movies out there, this and Code of Silence, Invasion USA, Good Guys Where Black is about it.

Summary: chuck wooden but great supporting cast
Review: This is truly an underrated classic. Granted Chuck's acting is as wooden as usual. But the premise (horror/action cross) is intriguing. What really makes this film is the excellent supporting cast. Libby is pure, mindless evil as John Kirby. (Libby can currently be seen in "The Green Mile") Furst is quite funny as the comic deputy. And the trio of mad doctors are marvelous. Silver is excellent, as usual. Keats (who unfortunately commited suicide in 1994) is very intense. And William Finley ("Phantom of the Paradise"), one of the most underrated character actors of the '70's and '80's is simply flawless in his usual geeky way. All in all, well worth a rental. Very creepy, and action-filled. Now, if only Chuck could learn to act ...

Summary: A fun thriller
Review: This multi-layered, many-textured exploration of the inner determinants of phychological motivation can be a watershed experience in your life, if you have the requisite desire and an open mind. A stunning love story is woven within the ever-varied fabric of an adventure tale, a horror story, a medical drama and a sophisticated comic farce. Dan and Alison want nothing more than to move on with their life together, buying a small ranch near Navasota and raising mohair goats, but fate cruelly intervenes with an unstoppable psycho-monster created by scientist Ron Silver in this, the greatest movie role of his entire life. Fortunately, we are occasionally rescued from drowning in tears by the remarkably deft and cerebral comedy of Stephen Furst, in one of his glittering early silver screen outings. The true star of this movie, though, is the plot. The producers, the crew, the actors, all knew they were working with an irreplaceable treasure of a plot, solid gold in story form, and their devotion, their energy, yes, their LOVE is evident in every frame. This is one of those magic films of which you will never tire, no matter how many times you see it and see it again -- it is the 1980s version of that incomparable 1943 classic, "We've Never Been Licked," starring Robert Mitchum, which in turn was loved by an entire generation. The day after I saw Silent Rage, I bought some cowboy boots like Chuck Norris was wearing (didn't I TELL you this film changed my life?) but they were stolen a few weeks later -- still, I remember them to this very day. Do not miss Silent Rage. It will burn a permanent, enduring, lasting, persistent, turgid scar on the Mobius strip of your soul, with white light searing the ineffective sunglasses of your mind's eye while impetigo dances with the hair on your scalp. Thank you Chuck Norris, thank you Ron Silver, thank you Brian Libby. The world can never properly repay you for making a movie like this one.

Summary: Chuck should see a doctor.
Review: When not totalgymizing (the next best thing to free weights, actually!), Chuck Norris interferes with bad boys, spilling their blood and ripping off their guts. That's quite a mess, as this movie classic so clearly indicates us. Chuck might be the greatest actor that has ever stalked the material plane, but this movie inflicted me immense pain during every minute it lasted. The plot was poor - actually, was there one at all? Chuck is at his very best in Walker, and in the Total Gym commercial, of course, but this movie is crap in it's purest form. We have indeed seen better Norris than this.

As I have learned since I saw this puky excuse for a movie, it is originally titled as "Silent Rage". Creepy, but somewhat that seems to even make some minor form of sense after all, as here in Finland it invaded the cinemas in the old 70s with the title "Mieletön Raivo" - "Mindless Rage", that is. That's when it crossed my mind for the first time - and has remained there ever since - the idea that Chuck should see a doctor. No man can endure that much pain and survive.

Summary: It's Chuck Norris v The Bogeyman, guess who wins?
Review: Who better to test an invincibilty formula on than a crazy sick lunatic? Well...if cinematic scientist's ever learn not to boldly tread where they are not supposed to then we wouldn't get movies like this. I know, some would argue that that's a GOOD thing.

Regardless of its silly and contrived plot, Silent Rage does have moments of genuine suspense and a few well done action scenes. Norris, though still really wooden at this point in his 'acting' career, remains a likable enough screen persona. This horror/action hybrid may not work well as a whole, but it has enough character to it to make it worth checking out for those who like b-movies.
