Rating: Summary: To survive 80s action movies.... Review: Ok, so the Rambo trilogy isnt a big brain bustin' adventure. They were not meant to be. Who cares. This box set is the first DVD collection i've purchased. The box was neat. Metal, with an embossed Stallone being his usual killing machine. The inside was handsome, but i was shocked. Two sided DVD's, what a nuance. Not one, but two sides to avoid getting finger prints and scratches on. I only watch the widescreen versions, so i guess its not a big deal for me, but still, this shouldnt be this way. Dual layer, please. All the bonus features were pretty cool, I guess, and it possessed a surprising moving documentary on Vietnam, although I believe that this was included to be somewhat politically correct. Don't let the box fool you, half the bonus features on the 4th disc are just like extended trailers of the three movies. However, these are my only complaints, rambo looks great on wide screen. This is 80s action at its finest.

Rating: Summary: Good movie's...Not so good special feature's Review: The "Rambo Trilogy" is a great series of movies for those guys who like explosions but not much substance. Rambo 1 (or "First Blood") has Vietnam vet and former POW John Rambo looking for an old war buddy, but gets hassled by the cops instead. Then he wages his one man war against the cops. "Part II" takes Rambo back to Vietnam to look for other POWs. "Rambo III" has Rambo going to Afganistan to find his old war commander, Col. Trautman. Sylvester Stallone carved out his second most famous charactor here, after Rocky, and proves he can say fewer lines than his competitor at the time, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The first movie is the only one with any real message, but it is obscure at least. The real star here is the explosions and the enormous body count. Stallone himself keeps getting a little bigger biceps and torso each movie, but he has less lines in each progressive film. All the preaching is left up to his father figure commander Col. Samual Trautman, played by Richard Crenna. With all the gloom and doom of this Armageddon on two legs, there are some bits of humor that crack through every now and then. This should be a requirment for anyone who loves full speed action flicks.

Rating: Summary: Quality action films! Review: The first of these three is a classic. Stallone as the vagrant Vietnam veteran falsely arrested and escaping to rage a one man war on the officers who are after him. With a great atmosphere and a small death count, you see that action films don't necessarily have to have lots of people being killed to succeed.First Blood part 2 is not as good but is still enjoyable and takes the format of a normal action film with Rambo rescuing P.O.W's from Nam. Rambo 3 is again similar to 2 with Rambo mounting a rescue mission to save his friend Colonel Trautman. Overall, many hours of entertainment that you will enjoy, and despite a slightly dodgy third installment, still worth the money.
Rating: Summary: A masterpiece Review: The perfect hero, the perfect actor, the perfect story. These movies are the best movies ever made. I have been watching Rambo since the age of 2. My first movie was Rambo II. I love these movies and I wish he would make another one. They don't get better then this.
Rating: Summary: The First one is the real gem here. Review: The problem with the other reviews here is that they are mostly about Rambo II. The truth is that the first film is the most socially relevant, about what happens to people who go through high trama, due to war. The second is really good no doubt, but they are really different films. The third film however, lacks the realism of the first, or the all out mayhem of the second and settles for just being a sequel, but the trilogy wouldn't be complete without it.
Rating: Summary: Incredible to say the least Review: There was probably a lot of discussions to release this trilogy on DVD, in fact they are already available in one format or another. But this is what you would call the ultimate edition, encased in a metal casing ala Terminator 2 this is just packed with stuff. Besides the fact that you get one of the best trilogies of all time you also get stuff like an interview with the guy who wrote the story first blood, documentaries galore, and that's just scratching the surface. I have yet to fully explore the depths of this set but there truely is a lot in this. This was probably a confirmed released after post Sept. 11 but it is so worth it, and at a beutiful price as well. A must buy.
