Summary: Cool bike scenes, poor movie overall
Review: I love to ride. I own a customized R6 that I rebuilt myself. So I'm not some cage riding adrenaline-wannabe. The movie was awful for its poor writing and even worse race sequences. No offence to the writers/directors, but a quarter mile on a nitrous-enhanced Hayabusa takes under 9 seconds. So ya, make those races just a tad shorter, and believable. And race tires don't grip do well on dirt roads. But if you just want to see this movie for the entertainment of checking out a lot of sweet looking bikes, it's fine. But plain and simple - if Smoke's as good a driver as they portray him, then he could never lose to Kid (it's as simple as a GSXR1300 Hayabusa vs. a GSXR1000 on a straightaway - the one with more HP is going to win - there's little skill involved).

My two cents.

Summary: To Fake
Review: I rented Biker Boyz with a lot of expectations. I'd just seen Antwon Fisher and saw a wonderful performance by Derek Luke. I was also looking forward to seeing Laurence Fishburne, one of the most underrated black actors in Hollywood. What I found was an unbelievabele mess of nothing.

The movie to me wasn't believable at all. The race scenes where shot crazy and ridiculously fast. The stunts the guys pull on the bikes are impossible. There is no way they wouldn't lay those bikes out. At least make it a little believable.

I couldn't believe Fishburne and Luke did a movie like this. They are both way to good for a movie of this caliber, Especially Fishburne. I can see Luke doing it because he's young, but it doesn't justify the mess the movie was. Kid Rock was actually one of the better performers in the movie.

I just think it's a waste of money. I didn't really find it to be a Fast and Furious knock off. That movie far surpasses this one. I wouldn't waster my money or time on it. But if a ridiculous and totally unbelievable plot is your kind of film you should like this movie.

Summary: American International Pictures lives on!
Review: I think that American International Pictures made a template for these sort of movies 50 years ago, and with some updating, special effects, a wider ethnic mix and dirty language, the same movies are just being rehashed over and over again. Think about it,is the plot the same with minor variations as a hotrod movie from the 50's? Of course it is, and 50 years from now, they'll probably do it all over again. But, having made that statement, I LOVE THESE MOVIES. True, they're no brainers, but who cares! Nowhere does it say any motion picture has to be realistic. It's good fun and I enjoyed it. And, I'll watch it all over again many times before my time is up. Who cares if it has the mother of all weak plots, what do you want? "One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest" So what if the stunts and the races were unrealistic, if I want realism I'll watch "The English Paitent" providing I can stay awake that long. But I had no trouble staying awake thru this one. See it and enjoy it and please, don't take it too seriously.

Summary: Surprisingly Good
Review: I was very "ify" about this movie. In fact - I didn't even want to see it. But a friend of mine bought the DVD and then talked me into watching it. I must say - it grabbed me from the beginning. I won't spoil things, but I will say that the film opens with a very impactful scene - in fact - I found myself identifying with and feeling for the characters right away. From there it had my attention. The movie is well done - very entertaining - and actually has some depth to it that you probably wouldn't have expected at first glance. Of course you have to admire Laurence Fishburne, who plays the famed Morpheus in the Matrix trilogy - and it surprised me to see Brendan Fehr in this flick as well. I remember him best from The Forsaken - loved him in that. Biker Boys appears to be a carbon copy of The Fast And The Furious - only on motorcycles - at the surface. But once you pop it in the DVD player and settle in, you realize right away that you were mistaken. Similarities? Yes. But this is no copy, it stands on its own. There is far less focus on the vehicles themselves and far more spotlight on the plot. Put comparisons aside, and prepare yourself for a few surpises when you watch this one.

Summary: just plain {wasn't good]
Review: i wish there was a lower rating to give this movie than one star, because even that seems generous. the movie starts off with cheesy music and really poor camera work. then it went downhill. i am trying to come up with something positive to say about it, but there is nothing. there was not a single good performance, even from the one or two talented people that were in it. the music was picked from the 99cent rack at a rap store. the writing and dialogue were amateurish at best, and the directing was worse. the final nail in this miserable piece of [garbage] coffin was that even the race scenes were laughably bad. now i understand why this movie made about thirty seven dollars at the box office!

Summary: A different slice of life...for a change
Review: If you are looking for a film with great performances, interesting characters, intelligent drama and some fun action sequences then check "Biker Boyz" out. It is a great story set in a sub-culture of the multi-ethnic bike clubs that exist nationwide. I saw this movie in the theater and thought it was a lot a fun. Some of you folks take your action movies too seriously; if you want thin storylines and non-stop pointless racing look elsewhere, there are plenty of bad choices out there, This isn't one of them.

Summary: fast and furious it isnt
Review: It may have been inspired by the same series of articles on daredevil speed freaks, but this film does not have the same feel as fast and furious. Not to say that it is a bad film, it really isnt, but it just seems to never get in high gear, And Kid Rock as almost the only whitey in this group is almost laughable.

While the action sequences are pretty good and the soundtrack shook my surround sound for sure, still it leaves something to be desired, but thats just my opinion, you may love it.

Summary: Fast & Furious Wannabe
Review: It never fails. Every time a movie ( like Fast and Furious ) becomes a surprise hit you get a load of copycats. Will Hollywood ever learn? Please! Save yourself and don't even think of watching this mess. This film has the intelligence of a dead dog and the excitement of Sesame Street. With good actors like Larry Fishburne, Vanessa Bell Calloway and Larenz Tate I expected more. Well, no I didn't but I didn't think this film would suck this much. How can something with so much glitz be so boring? The guy who plays Larry's son is an actor who's popped out of nowhere and wasn't terribly impressive. He's good looking but he didn't fit the role. I recommend anyone against this unless you want to see cute guys on bikes. Other than that there is nothing to see this for.
