Summary: Great movie.
Review: It seems that whenever Hollywood produces something that is deserving of that vague label "spiritual" that critics blast it and it is received negatively by movie goers. I always wind up disagreeing with the critics and the popular opinion.I thought DRAGONFLY was a great movie. Costner gave a very deep, reflective performance as did the children in the movie, Kathy Bates, and the Catholic nun. I think Tom Shadyac did a great job on this, his first drama. As Costner's character realizes more and more what is going on, the audience goes with him and it's pretty darn exciting in my opinion. Sure, we have a pretty good idea what's up, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. The ending is pretty action packed and contains a few nice surprises. All in all, I really liked this one.

Review: I can't believe this movie is excellent , because it stars kevin costner. this guy is probably a good actor but has made wrong script choices in past which made me a little hesitant to rent this film from my local blockbuster , but i thought why not give kevin another chance i mean come on don't we all, so i did was'nt dispointed . the story use the temporal & spritual plain as compass suggests that we use both to gain where we are & where were going . i wish i would have seen this one in the theater it's a gem i think the director ought to stay in genre rather than dabble in comedies i was'nt happy with the nutty professor or too thrilled with liar , lair it was ok but this was one of his better ones . the cast was great & believable such moving picture, i'd recommended this one if you like m night stuff this is in the same vein sort of.. i'd rent or buy it.

Summary: Incredible and touching
Review: I had heard really bad things about this film, but I decided to give it a chance anyway. It was definitely worth that chance! This movie was the story an emergency room doctor who finds out that his pregnant wife has died while she was in Venezuela on a humanitarian mission. He begins to receive messages from his wife in the form of symbols drawn by little kids who've gone "halfway to Heaven" and talked to her, and from various other methods. He begins to question if his wife even died. It's a little confusing in some points, but in the end everything falls into place, and you'll be either in tears or near tears because it is just so sweet and kinda sad. A definite must-see, though!

Summary: Disapppointing
Review: I saw the previews for this movie and I thought it looked interesting. Then, I rented it. I looked forward to a good movie and started watching it. Slowly, disappointment started to sink in. I started getting that uncomfortable feeling that you get when you start thinking, gee this isn't very good. The acting seemed unconvincing, was the first thing. Then what bothered me was that to believe the movie, you would have to believe that Kevin Costner, no matter how irrational he acted, could magically avoid arrest or institionalization, when it surely would have happened to the rest of us. He manages magically to get in to see sick children, fly to south america, get tackled in the hospital, jump in a river and be saved from drowning when he couldn't save himself, raid a remote village without permission, and the end little miracle he found adn the condition he found it which I won't spoil that was even more unbelievable. This all happens as if he were superman and beyond police, doctors, administrators, medical boards and hostile natives. Doesn't the man have to work and pay bills like the rest of us? He really does act like he has thrown all reason, training and rationality out the window which you think he would be hanging on to, to retain his career, self respect, and income. Cathy Bates does her usual good job but in the scenes with her, Costner is eclipsed. And what ever happened to that stupid bird? And what does he think of what Kevin brings home at the end of the movie? It was an in teresting premise but it just didn't work and I found Costner unconvincing and the story beyond belief. As he went into the village, I found myself thinking he might say, it's okay guys, I am the guy who was in Dances With Wolves. And by the way,how did the photo of his wife survive the dousing in the river? Like I said, beyond belief...don't waste your time.

Review: The commercials for this film made me believe , this will be a very good movie . Commercials was wrong ! This was ( and still is ) just a medioca film with very good actors .
Kevin Costner is a one of the best actors in the USA ... but even him couldn't save a very downhill script . Welcome to reality !? Story is promissing : his wife died in acsident in South America ...but he can feel her around the house ... he can se her ... he can tell , she is still around ! And she wants him to get the massage ! We don't know , what the massage is ... but we understand - there is one to exist . Nobody believes him ... all his friends thinks - he is getting crasy ... you are all wrong !- we feel . Exellent field for intrigue , developing of the story ... it didn't develope anywhere ???! We found ourselfes in the dead end . I don't know why ... May be ... not enough talant ??? May be . But not in the actors side . They performed on highest level !

Summary: The first 20 minutes...
Review: ...or so are promissing and even a little eerie - then it all goes down hill. Fast. Really fast. Really, really fast. The last 20 minutes are so incredibly ridiculous that we found ourselves laughing out loud. This is NOT the thriller you expected. More like something you would expect from Lifetime TV, only not as good.

Review: Let me star off by saying I'm a big Kevin Costner fan, I've seen all his movies, even the bad ones, but this one is his worst. Kathy Bates is great, but the rest of the movie is garbage. Watch The Postman again, at least that one had great views and it was funny, this Dragonfly is just shameful.

Review: Dragonfly tires hard to achevie an ethereal quality, but the mundance script keeps it relentlessly earthbound. The film is neither suspensful nor romantic, nor intriguing enough to makeit truly effective as either a thriller, a love story, a fantasy or - as the film undoubtedly would prefer - a combination of all three.

Summary: Pointless and boring
Review: This movie is soooooooo terrible, because the script could have been written by a random-cliche generator, you could see some of the more talented actors questioning why they were in this movie as they delivered their dead lines and the plot is so boring that I would rather slowly cut my own fingers off with a rusty spoon than watch this movie again.
