Summary: Don't mess with Bronson's melons!
Review: They never learn. Now they want to screw around with Bronson's melon crop! All Bronson wants to do is get his melons in, but every one and every thing seems to be trying to stop him. His biggest obstacle being a mafia hitman who wants Bronson dead, dead, DEAD! Bronson doesn't so much as frown when his workers are kicked off his land, and his buddy's legs are broken, but watch his pained expression and clenched fist when he sees his melons shot to ribbons! Then all hell breaks loose! This is one of Bronson's best quality films. His perfromance is actually perfect for the character he plays. A definite for your Manly Movie Night.

Summary: How to drive your wife crazy
Review: This is a great 'guy' movie that can be watched over and over again. Poor Charles Bronson, he just "wants to get his melons in." This is a classic David pummles Golieth story.

Summary: Excellent Movie! But it needs DVD treatment
Review: This is a must for Bronson fans. Its about a simple melon picker who fights the evils of society .

Summary: Melonhead
Review: This is a ridiculously contrived revenge drama penned by one of the most over-rated hacks in America, Elmore Leonard. A melon farmer who happens to be an ace Vietnam combat veteran butts heads with a mob assassin. Happens every day. The film is packed with stereotypes, from the noble Chicano melon-pickers to the gruff police detective to the punk labor contractor to the polyester-enveloped 70's gangsters. It limps along from one poorly staged scene to another until Leonard apparently ran out of cliches. It should have been played for straight comedy since there are so many unintnetional laughs in it. Bronson was strictly a supporting character actor and when he stepped into leading roles he simply didn't have enough depth as an actor to put himself across.

Summary: Melon farmer vs. the mob
Review: This is about your average (no better, no worst) mid-'70s Charles Bronson actionier. Vince Majestyk is a Vietnam vet turned small farmer. All he wants to do work his crops, but then he is harrased by a small time hood (Paul Koslo)assalt. After he is arrested for assault. There he meets mob hit man Renda (Al Lettieri). In a botched escape, Vince tries to return Renda to prison, but then Renda gets away. After that Renda swears vengence on Majestyk. What follows is harrasment and then escalating violence until the final shoot out at a cabin in the woods. This movie would fit in perfectly with the bunch of southern justice movies at that time ("Tick, Tick, Tick", "Rolling Thunder", "White Lightning", ect) except for the geographic location in Colorado. Otherwise it fits in prefectly with backwood justice and angst against big city vs small town. Production values (helmed by Richard Fleischer of "Conan the Destroyer" fame) are just about average; good but nothing exceptional. Acting is the same story, no real stand outs. Do not get me wrong, it is pretty good, just nothing special.

Summary: DVD???
Review: This is probably one of Charles Bronson's best films. I cant believe it is not on DVD yet. With all the garbage they release lately, a film like this does not deserve to be NOT on DVD. So MGM/UA should release it as soon as they can.

Summary: Filmed in the florence and la junta area's.
Review: This movie was filmed in colorado with film shot's in a field near florence, colorado and just south of canon city on top of oak creek grade and at the very end of the movie you can see the sangre de cristo(blood of christ) mountains in the back ground.the film has alot of good shot's of certain areas around colorado and I had to watch the movie several times to pick certain things out the looked familure such as buildings, street signs, roads with intersection's of highways.this movie drew me to things that were landmarks.I think this is how a movie draws attention. too people who are familure with the surounding area's such as a movie being shot in los angeles, california those people who have been there or live there would notice certain things about the area and therefore that would draw them to the movie but also the movie would need to have a plot to it whether it would be a drama or action or comedy.a must see movie and also a collectors Item(my opinion of course).
