Review: I believe that was probably the single most substantial line of dialogue in the entire 108 min. movie. Even better is that Paul Walker delivers the line with as much sincerity as a second-grade poetry recital.

You movie marathon-ers looking for a PAINFUL guilty-pleasure double feature? Try "2 Fast 2 Furious" followed by "The Matrix." Ouch, kids, definitely do NOT try that at home -- certainly more pain than pleasure.

This is the one out of the two that I had not seen, so I screened it first. Well, I got out of it exactly what I expected: video game street-racing that looks less convincing than the original "Midnight Club" for PS2, acting so amateurish that your high school drama club were thespians when compared, and lots and lots of hot ass. It fills almost every frame, so should I consider that a saving grace...?

Spilner has quit the police force, juiced up a new Mitsubishi, and booked for Miami. Supposedly, the criminal influence from the original was just too overwhelming. His status is secured within the street-racing leagues as one to be reckoned with, but he gets busted after the Skyline race at the beginning. So, the cops coerce him into doing some "police work" undercover, racing down to the Keys to intercept a package for a shady kingpin, and recruiting a childhood friend, Roman (Tyrese), for additional driving skill. Until the old friends hatch a brilliant lit-ul skame to advance themselves financially after the cops get the perps in shackles. Didn't Schwarzenegger make a movie like this in the '80s or something?

The only actor worth any mention is the menacing adversary played by Cole Hauser (lead skinhead in "Higher Learning"), whom definitely did the most with the minimum that John Singleton gave him to work with. I mean, if he has to level a shotgun at Eva Mendes' face just to get her to go away, I guess you've got to give him some respect. That's the way Singleton sees it, anyway.

I would've turned off my brain like other viewers had the racing scenes been engaging, but they just aren't that cool. The Chargers owned by the Vatos stole the show for me, but they aren't featured enough. Half the racing footage is actual, half of it is digitally composited -- yet it only amounts to "eh."

I suppose having a movie comprised entirely of eye candy can easily get made, but it ain't easy for said movie to make any money. I really thought Singleton could be coming back since the impressive "Shaft" remake, but...

Look, for fans of this movie, this review is completely bi-partisan, regardless of whether or not you agree with me. Want stone-cold proof? I'm good friends with Devon Aoki's brother, and prior to the LA Premiere, he told me he talked to her to confirm his invite on the red carpet, then asked her if she'd seen it yet. And Devon Aoki, Suki the pink racer herself, called it, "a piece of sh-t."

There you have it, straight from the cutesie-pie horse's mouth. But, hey. I read a lot of decent reviews in newspapers for the flick. So, please, don't take my word for it.

Review: Paul Walker can act as well as a brick wall. He is that bad.
But beyond that the movie is semi-watchable.

The Skyline race at the beginning was the highlight of the film and the rest just went downhill. The cars rocked in the first one from old school muscle to tricked Civics and Supras. What do we get in the sequel? Two Mitsubishi stinkers.
Did Mitsubishi pay off the director or something to have their dying car lines in the movie?

All in all it was an ok popcorn movie but it is a total waste when compared to Diesel and the first movie.

Summary: Much better then the first...
Review: I enjoyed this movie much better then I did the first. There was non-stop action this whole movie. The first race & the big stunt was awesome. I figured the rest of the movie would be great & I wasn't disappointed. Great racing the whole movie. Tyrese was a great addition to this movie & he'll give you many laughs. I highly recommend this movie to anybody who want to sit back & see some good racing, awesome cars & neat stunts.

Review: First, let me say that I decided not to watch this movie when it came out summer 2003. I was so turned off from the first one (Fast & the Furious) that I though the sequel will be a waste of time & money (most sequels tend to flop nowadays). The cars in the first movie were ok, but there was no plot...basically none...nada!! Not to mention Ja Rule only showed up in the movie to get dissed? lolol...serves him right. Fast & Furious was lame overall, but Vin Diesel stole the show (hands down). So, I'm disappointed that he wasn't in this sequel though.

So I rented & watched the DVD 1yr later expecting to see another dumb sequel.

I was wrong...

This movie finally has a decent plot that gelled all parts of the movie together into one exciting rollercoaster ride.

The cars, were much better, waaaaay faster, not to mention the girls and the setting (how can u beat Miami?). The first race totally blew me away. Incredible Car Stunts!! Not to mention the cars. Skyline? Spider? Evo VII? The 2 Hemi monsters? American Muscle?...What more cars could u ask for Man? They even rolled out the whole pack of cars near the end. The police aren't that stupid. It's just flat-out fast paced action from the word "GO!" The driving maneuvres during all chases were well done.

Paul Walker's a pretty cool actor...I respect the man. Tyrese was just too funny. Eva Mendes is so pretty, that I've stopped dreaming of J-Lo. Ludacris & Devon Aoki look so cute together. Not to mention the villian (Cole Hauser), he was stoned cold. All the actors were tight.

How can I forget the soundtrack? All the tracks are flat-out club bangers that fit the scenes like a glove. That track during the buildup to the 1st race (when the skyline was driving in) was my favorite. You'll be feeling the beats for real.

To me this is one of the hypest movies I've seen that really lived up to it's name...definitely one of the best urban movies I've ever seen in a while now. You won't get tired of this movie, and you'll want to watch it over and over again. This movie is a keeper for all car-lovers.

Should they do "Fast & Furious 3" with Vin Diesel back in with Paul Walker, Tyrese in it, true justice will be surely be served.
