Summary: Not Good
Review: I really didn't care much for Deep Blue Sea.I've read a lot of reviews comparing it to Jaws.I won't.Even if there had never been a Jaws this would be a bad movie.I thought the acting was bad,the sharks looked bad,(the CGI ones, anyway)and director Renny Harlin has done much better.(i.e. Cliffhanger,Die Hard 2,The Long Kiss Goodnight)I think Samuel L.Jackson is a great actor, but his talent is wasted here.Saffron Burrows looks good, but her performance wasn't too great. That's about all,as there really aren't a lot of good things I can say about this movie.Of course, this is all just my own personal opinion,if you like the movie, great, but there are just so many better movies out there-so why bother with this one!

Summary: You may not believe me but almost as good as jaws!!!!
Review: As my title for this review goes...''Deep Blue Sea'' can rival the famous ''Jaws''!!!!

When a group of scientists try to invent a cure for alzeimers disease they test this wonder drug on a few sharks. But when all hope is lost, out of the blue...IT WORKS.... But as a side affect [ lets face you gotta have a side affect these days ] the sharks get smarter and before you can say ''Dead in the water'' the crew begin to get bumped off by the sharks one-by-one...

''Deep Blue Sea'' in my opinion is ''Jaws'' for the 21st centuary.Renny Harlin took a fantastic job as director and LlcoolJ,Thomas Jane and Samuel. L Jackson give great acting although you could iron a shirt on Saffron Burrows back as she is so stiff and wooden as her character!!!!But all in all a great movie was had by all!!!!!!

10 out of 10

Summary: Lets explore the Mysteries of the Deep Blue Sea
Review: To sum it all up this was a pretty good movie, and if you said it was scary thats your opinion but I've seen scarier movies. As lots of People said this doesn't live up to Jaws, but it was humerous too. I found it to be quite an amazing movie. More blood and gore then I expected to see and not the most thrilling at the end since LL Cool J always lives in the movies he stars in. Not as predictable as most movies are but you could tell who was going to die and who wasn't. It was pretty good if you ask me though.

Summary: Deep Thriller!
Review: This is the best shark movie ever! Jaws is weak childrens G-Rated Material compared to this vicious, raw, brutal, blood-soaked movie. These sharks are killers! Dude...great movie and good features. This is a terrific DVD. The best way to watch it is on a big sony WEGA or HDTV late when its dark. YOWZA! bite me.

Summary: Quite awful
Review: I spent most of this film in a state of total disbelief, feeling I had blundered into an old set for the Poseidon Adventure . What on earth were the Aquatica sharks made of? They gleamed like lovingly polished Ferraris in a car show room, and on occasion moved as if the controls had seized and stuck on fast forward. The cer-unch ce-runch of the manequins being eaten...the shot of the shark in the last reel...; seriously bad. "Jaws" doesn't have a thing to worry about.

Best line: "You ate mah bird".

Summary: Deep, Deep Excitment!
Review: Researchers on the undersea laboratory Aquatica have genetically altered the brains of captive sharks to develop a potential cure for Alzheimer's disease. There is one unexpected side effect. The sharks are getting smarter. Which could mean trouble for the researchers. And lunch for the sharks. You can swim but you can't hide when a tropical storm floods Aquatica, plunging Samuel L. Jackson, Saffron Burrows, Thomas Jane, LL Cool J and the rest of the crew into a harrowing battle of wits against sleek killing - and thinking! - machines.

Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2) directs, squeezing nerve-jangling suspense and thrills from a film that's a monster movie, a chase movie, a movie that snaps hold and won't let go. Dive in.

Summary: It's not supposed to be Jaws. Ignore the nits.
Review: The Sharks were not left out of Jaws because it was 'scarier' not to show them, or some other artistic merit reason. According to Spielberg they were left out because Universal did not know how to construct a believeable, realistic Shark at the time. Renny Harlin, 20+ years later DID have advanced sharks, and he makes the most of them. (It took the DVD commentary track to confirm which sharks were geniune and which were artificial) That being said, Forget about ANY comparisons to Jaws regarding Deep Blue Sea. They both take place near large bodies of water, and that's it. Thomas Jane (Face/Off,the Thin Red Line) has a standout performance in the otherwise mostly forgetable cast. LL Cool J provides about the same function here as he did in H20. If you liked him there, you'll love him here. The plot is on par in 'silly motivation' as any other action movie about science gone wrong. Is it any sillier to think Scientists might harvest Shark protein for a remedy than the Amber jelly of an acid secreting xenobiological? No ,it isn't. If you're expecting a horror flick, you'll be left wanting. If you're looking for an action flick where many of the tried and true conventions are tweaked, watch this film. The DVD contains some deleted footage, DVD ROM extras, and the website, but the highlight is the Commentary track, provided by Samuel L Jackson for the first hour or so.

Summary: "JAWS" ON STEROIDS!
Review: I enjoyed this shocking shark thriller. A surprise at every turn, absolutely the worse nightmare come true for an unfortunate group of researchers. Shocking and gripping without relying on gratuitous sex or profanity. Overall quite well done, including the astonishing special effects. Thumbs up for Renny Harlin!

Summary: Intense and entertaining
Review: The story - hopefully just fictional ... with only minor logical errors. The effects - breathtaking, terrorizing, just great! The actors - nothing special, besides the cook ... and his bird! The ethics issues - yeah, well, there are these somewhat ruthless but not very evil scientist, but this is not what this movie is about. The sharks - you won't dare to take a dip into your pool for several days after this movie ... The blood factor - nothing for those delicate flowers out there, but not as brutal as one might expect. The humor - well, kind of dark, actually more on the pitch black side of the street. The verdict - very entertaining, intense and captivating. The prophecy - there will be a part 2 ...
