Rating: Summary: Biggest Disappointment since The Mummy Returns Review: I saw Collateral Damage at a press screening in Los Angeles this past Thursday. Four words: I won't be back. The acting is average. Arnold makes a valiant effort at real acting. But, he falls short by an Austrian mile. I do give credit to John Leguizamo. In Collateral Damage, he makes a big jump from the days of " The Pest". The movie is predicatable from the beginning. You only need to watch the first half hour and figure out the rest of story without watching it. Does anyone really think that Arnold could lose against the baddies? Of course not. If you want to save yourself $7 dollars, just watch the trailer. Arnold disappoints. I hope he has better success with T3, because this movie is only adding another nail to his movie career coffin. And to The Customer From Earth, how about you learn to spell before writing a review. I did read the Jesse Ventura review, and he was right about many of the topics that he discussed. How have Arnold films helped society? Do any of his films have anything to say about the struggles and complexity of our society? And no, Collateral Damage does not discuss the problems of terrorism. Terrorism is a lot more complex than fighting bad guys in a hand to hand combat. Also, films like this one do not help the audience escape the real problems of society. The last thing I want to do to get away from the 9/11 attack is to watch a film about terrorism. Collateral Damage is an American patriotic film that forces the audience to believe that terrorism can be solved through violence and bloodshed. It can't.
Rating: Summary: Looks great Review: Watching the trailers and following the news regarding collateral damage, i think it looks like it could be one of arnies best movies. The action scenes in arnolds recent movies have been dissapointing in the face of modern blockbusters, but Collateral Dammage looks to have some impressive visuals. The director Andrew Davis, made the fugitve and should hopefully have created a classy action thriller.
Rating: Summary: This looks Great! Review: Arnold's new movie looks fantastic! I can't wait for it to be released as Arnold looks like he's back on action form and its being directed by Andrew Davis whom directed the smash hit 'The Fugitive'. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the king of action, noone can beat him!Oh and jesse ventura, whatever your name is,movies are made for entertainment, fun,an escape from reality. You've just wasted about an hour writing all that nonsense. Are you jelous of Arnold cos it sure looks like you are. Noone can change what happened on september 11th but if we all censor violence, sex whatever it means the terrorists/badguys win. Anyway feedback on collateral damage has been extremely positive and looks to be a big success as with all of Arnold's movies. (Well barring Red Sonja!)
Rating: Summary: Arnolds Back: Bigger and Badder Review: This film is released on October 5. I have to say I have seen the trailers a couple of times. Well good news everyone, Arnold is back, from disapointing movies such as End of Days. Arnold plays Gordon Brewer, a retired firefighter who one day is walking to pick up his son and wife, and then a bomb explodes killing them. Arnold decides to then take the law into his own hands by getting the man who did this. Intense action sequences and explosions, Arnolds back with his main idea a good plot with lots of action. Elias Koteas and John Leguizamo co-star. Wait for this one to come out and be blown away.
Rating: Summary: October 5th means packed movie theaters! Review: ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER's new film, COLLATERAL DAMAGE, his first hard "R" rated action film since the rather disappointing to many: End of Days, sets him to the ultimate 'blast', when his wife and child are killed in a terrorist bombing. After becoming obcessed with finding the killer known as "The Wolf", Brewer (Arnold) teams up with the most unlikely ally in finding him, the wife of the terrorist. MY REVIEW: "ARNOLD better make up for his previous SIXTH DAY, and still hasn't made up for JINGLE ALL THE WAY and BATMAN & ROBIN. This new film, COLLATERAL DAMAGE looks like the ordinary action-flick that ARNOLD would do. Being the bulky firefighter out to track down some terrorists and blow up some stuff with a hot chick is average. In the trailer, which is attached to JURASSIC PARK III, there isn't a whole lot of shoot-em up action sequences like you'd hope, but this film, which is somewhat out of the ordinary for an "action" film, has a plot, and what seems to have acting. Though it sounds like the plot could be described in one word [revenge], it looks a lot better. So, ARNOLD is back to hard-core with this new rated "R" movie, which is rated so because of STRONG VIOLENCE and SOME LANGUAGE. The first cut of the film was runned at 115 minutes. So let's hope it is a good one! So get ready for this fall, because ARNOLD is coming to town in the action packed form!"- MJV & the Movies.
Rating: Summary: Collateral Damage movie imitates real events Review: Collateral Damage is the great and partially real action film in which Arnold Schwarzenger plays a fireman hell bent on getting his hands on the Terrorist who killed his wife and kid and many other citizens near a shopping mall. With the attacks on Sept 11 , movies have tried to cash in but Collateral Damage is different. Arnold even dedicated the movie to firefighters everywhere in an interview with Byron Allen. The movie is brilliant in showing what only what the motivation behind terrorist attacks , but the depiction of slow agencies like fbi to counter these terrorist attacks. Basically, the FBI and CIA tell Gorden Brewer(Arnold Schwarzennger) that they are working to bring down the terrorist who killed his family, when in fact they have no good leads on the suspect. Rather, than sitting on his butt, and waiting for the FBI to do something, Gordon takes the law into his own hands and seeks to get justice for his family by going into Columbia and getting "The Wolf" as the terrorist is called. There is a great scene in which Gordon goes crazy and literally beats the hell out of a cold-blooded radio news reporter who says that the victims are pure garbage by saying their "collateral damage". The radio reporter explains the reasons behind terrorist attacks but shows no feeling for victims. I loved this scene, because this reporter clearly has no remorse for the dead. He probably has no family of his nose, and doesn't know the meaning of life, except to cover his own. Now you might say to yourself what's the difference between Arnold's character (who is going for justice) and the terrorist well here is the big difference from Arnold himself: "The difference between me and you is that I am only going to kill you". Unbelievable action and twists at the end, that you're literally be on the edge of youre seat, and just when you think the movie is over.... it's not !!! Director Andrew Davis not only gives a fact type based movie based on Columbia, but also a factual based type movie that deals with Terrorism and the lessons that we must learn to see that things like this don't happen again. In fact, most people will remember the horrible case of Wall Street Reporter , Daniel Pearl, who was executed after the U.S. failed to meet the demands of the Middle East terrorist holding. The U.S. should have gone after these terrorists like the way Arnold does in this movie. However of course not all terrorists are MiddleEastern like some racist white bigots like this person named Nate Howard, an Army Ranger who has been harassing people says. In fact alot of Terrorists have been born and bread here in the US, Timothy McVeight, the UnaBomber and God knows how many others. This is a great action film that you must see
Rating: Summary: It was Great Review: Firefighter Gordon Brewer's (Arnold Schwarzenegger) family is the "collateral damage" of a terrorist bombing in Los Angeles. When the U.S. government turns to peace talks with the perpetrators instead of justice for his family, Brewer heads to Colombia intent on payback. But when he meets the wife (Francesca Neri) and child of his family's murderer (Cliff Curtis), nothing is as it seems, and all hell breaks loose in true "Ah-nuld" style.

There is a great scene in which Gordon goes crazy and literally beats the hell out of a cold-blooded radio news reporter who says that the victims are pure garbage by saying their ''collateral damage''. The U.S. should have gone after these terrorists like the way Arnold does in this movie. but then the U.S. does not have a great track record when it comes to nailing terrorist even going back to the 1970's the U.S. supported and backed up
madmen like General Pinochet in Chile and dictator Samoza in Nicaragua. Both of them killed hundreds of people with U.S. backing and funding.
Still though ''Collateral Damage'' is a great action film that you must see.
Rating: Summary: Where's The Action ? Review: I Bought This Movie On DVD And Now I Wish I Didn't . First Of All Where's The Action And Adventure ? The Movie Is More About Arnold Searching For The Terrorist Who Killed His Wife And Child Than About Him Getting Revenge On The People Who Did It. I Expected To See Arnold Shooting It Up And Kicking Butt . Save Your Money And Stay Away From This Borring Put Me To Sleep Movie !
Rating: Summary: Bad Acting, Bad Story, Bad Arnold Review: But what are we to expect from an actor turned Governor (see Ronald Reagan for more bad movies). This movie is typical Schwarzenegger stock, lots of violence, no real substance etc...
Arnold wants revenge and he wants it bad, on some South American guerilla leader who is so consumed by hate the audience cannot build up any sympathy for him. He is so despicable that his wife even left him for the governator. Soon enough the Americans come, as they do to so many other Latin American countries, and blow stuff.
The funny thing is that even though the antagonist was made out to be really evil; I still wanted him to be win. Arnold failed to take any moral high ground as he was also obbsessed with revenge. And the wife, don't get me started on the wife. The directors tried to make her out as an innocent victim of a tyrannical partiarch. However her character was so flat and at times straight nauseating. All in all the good guys were just as irratating as the antagonists.
John Leguizamo was in it.- that should be enough not to see that movie.
Not recommended due to the incredibly irratating and at times outright painful plot line.
