Review: To start off, Director Andrzej Bartkowiak and Producer Joel Silver's last teaming together of ROMEO MUST DIE, was a great action fest for the eyes. Now they have returned with DMX and are bringing some light back to old-timer STEVEN SEAGAL. I expected a lot, especially from JOEL SILVER who's past credits are DIE HARD, PREDATOR, THE MATRIX, COMMANDO, and many others.My first thought here, when bringing an ancient karate legend back from the ashes that had been spread upon him way back in 1996's EXECUTIVE DECISION (A Silver Pictures Film), it ought to be something big and explosive. STEVEN SEAGAL is in his mid-40's I believe and still thinks he can pull off the success he once had, back in UNDER SIEGE day. After going through several, direct-to-video blah films, SEAGAL had gained weight and was putting his own self in the dark. And because of the success of THE MATRIX, Joel Silver has pulled together action projects that now have a small collection of action sequences that MATRIX has. SEAGAL isn't freestyle anymore. His fire is gone. Sure he can flip someone on their back, wrap a chain around his hand and make a man bleed, or even raise his leg to someone's chest, but it isn't enough anymore. This new century is JET LI time where CHUCK NORRIS, JEAN CLAUDE VAN-DAMME and SEAGAL are out of the picture. Besides martial arts, there isn't anything wondrous or half descent about SEAGAL's performance anyway. He can shoot a gun, give a hard punch, or fall off a motorcycle, but it doesn't surpass. In DMX's case, being a hip-hop artist coming into the action hall of film, his performance is acceptable and predictable. He has moved up from a small, side-dish role to a bigger role where he is actually noticible. He plays a secret officer trying to stop police corruption on SEAGAL's side. There is only a few glimpse-type scenes where he does anything remotely related to martial arts. The trailer of this film tricks you into thinking the movie is pure action-adventure almost the whole time. Don't believe everything you see. In the beginning, you think you are going to get pumped with a big shootout that takes place, but the problem is that the sound is very disagreeable. (Maybe in the theater it would be different) The gunfire and explosions aren't really loud and thrilling. Nothing exciting or new really happens. Nothing builds around the characters, and there really isn't any suspense whatsoever. TOM ARNOLD is the only agreeable actor in the film. He comes off like a comedic gem, sort-of returning to his TRUE LIES role. On the action scale, sure there is some- nothing we've never seen before. There is some puches, some kicks, some flips and some gunshots- but it is overall just a rebound shot of ROMEO MUST DIE and THE MATRIX. A plot of just "police corruption" and Orin Boyd (SEAGAL) trying to "stop" it, is terrible. It's worthless. Who's good? Who's bad? The ending result is garbage. SEAGAL better come back with something and get some more make-up to get rid of those wrinkles so he can come back with something better. DMX is still learning, and did a rather okay job. He's still young, and still has many projects ahead of him. ANDRZEJ BARTKOWAIK is just a cinematographer gone director when Joel Silver was looking for someone to get the job done with ROMEO. His debut rocked, and now his next freethrow isa miss-"could-have-been." JOEL SILVER will rise again with THE MATRIX RELOADED coming out and his 13 GHOSTS remake in theaters. "EXIT WOUNDS is a film mixing together previous successes with some old action bloodwork, hip hop phenomenons, and meaningless story. Give it some credit for the action it contains, the cars, and TOM ARNOLD's humor, but don't expect it to be great. STEVEN SEAGAL definetly isn't back, and he may never be."

Review: dmx and steven segal ARE YOU KIDDING ME? that cast SUCKS. they dont have any CLUE as to how to act. i will tell you i started this movie and i very rarely stop a movie because it is bad. but i couldnt even CONSIDER watching this movie any longer then 30 minutes it was absolutly HORRIBLE. the action was completely unbeliveable the acting was CRAP. it was a downright stupid movie.

Review: This movie was typical Segal. No need to explain much more on that. It was a decent movie, with an okay plot, and enough humor thrown in to make it mildly entertaining, but that's about it.
DMX plays an introspective thug that just doesn't cut it. The acting looks forced, and you don't believe his character.
Tom Arnold is added into the flick for comic relief, and he does his normal stuff.
Not much about the movie is original. All the action scenes are predictable, and the only plot twist comes so late in the movie you really don't care anymore.
It's not a bad movie, it's just not a great movie. Segal has done better in some of his other flicks.

Summary: Exit The Room
Review: This is a cliche, by the book, action movie that I only saw in the first place b/c I was told that Seagal dies in the first half hour. If only that was true. The actual purpose of what is going on in the movie isn't revealed until around the last half hour or so. This could be seen as creative...trying to keep you guessing as to what is going on till the very end. In the case of this movie though, it was prolonged till the very end because of an unoriginal and weak script. I'll take this review through three categories, script, acting, and action sequences. Since the script has already been explained as generic, the next category is acting. The name actors are Steven Seagal, DMX, and a cameo comic relief role with Tom Arnold. Seagal is his typical self: stoic, good but with an attitude, and nearly invincible. DMX is out of place in the movie. He's introspective, well dressed, rich and yet also hard core. If not for the first point, he'd fit the stereotypical rapper profile from a music video. Most likely he doesn't want to get stereotyped as strictly a thug but as someone who can act bad as well as respectable. However, in this movie his melancholy good/hardcore persona seems too forced. It just doesn't seem natural and it takes away from the movie. Tom Arnold (Radio Talk Show Host with anger problems) is used in perfect moderation. You get a little dose of humor but not too much so that his ranting becomes annoying. In fact his humor is most amusing at the end of the movie during the credits as he, and DMX's sidekick (the most vocal of Jim Carey's black sons in Me, Myself and Irene)jabber back and forth on their new talk show. The remaining unnamed actors give standard action movie performances. Lastly, the action sequences were...generic and often too contrived. The opening action sequence is just too unrealistic to be enjoyable. Though not an action sequence, DMX and his sidekick stroll into an exotic car dealership and buy a very, very nice car for $300,000 and do it with cash. One of my favorite parts b/c seriously, how sweet would it be to do something like that? There is the typical filler action sequences that lead up to the finale, which is action filled but it fails to provide satisfaction. DMX does a creative trick with a shot gun and belt during the end sequence making it one of the only inventive parts to the movie. The bad guys die gory deaths and Seagal and DMX make out of it in good shape. How nice. To conclude, if you like Seagal or DMX then go ahead and rent or purchase this movie, though it is not nearly as good as other Seagal flicks. However, if you want a good action movie then you should probably look elsewhere.

Ive been a Seagal fan for many years and this is one great action movie! Seagal actually puts up some nice 'attitude acting', though the idea of DMX being a computer wiz was kinda hard to believe. :) If you like good action and dont pretend to be some movie critic who looks for screenplay ditches and fantastic acting, get this movie!

Review: Crooked cops. Blown drug deals. Steven Seagal. Yeah! Seagal is back Big Time. After a flimsy supporting role in "Executive Decision" a few years ago, Steven Seagal returns to the big screen in force. Looking healthy and trim, he struts and pounds through this fast-moving police action flick.Rapper DMX is very cool as his co-star crime-fighter, and his video "Ain't No Sunshine" is Bad. The opening shoot-out, an attempted assasination of the vice-president on a Detroit bridge, is a clear signal of the mayhem to come. There's no brain-food here, but Seagal fans will thrill to the big guy's return. I sure did.

Review: Not being a big Steven Seagal fan I wanted to pass on this one but my brother being a big DMX fan wanted to rent it so we did and I actually sat though it. The script has some flaws but then again it's a Steven Seagal movie which means that the script really doen't matter what matters is the action scenes well If you've seen one Steven Seagal action scene you've basically saw them all. DMX acting was horrible at times but most of it was O.k. No oscar that's for sure. So to sum it up the fighting scenes are O.k., the script is O.K, the acting is O.k well I expected alot worse. Bottom line this movie entertains it really does. I hate admiting this but there is a chance that my "Under Siege" dvd may not be the only Steven Seagal dvd I own.

Summary: Entertaining, but normal Seagal
Review: The movie starts with Seagal's character Boyd, a police officer, rescues the Vice President of the USA from a very elaborate plot. His reward is to demote him to the worst pricint, 15th, in the city. We lose what looks like the begining of a good plot. The 15th turns out to be a very seedy shop, with more corrupt cops than straight ones ' looks like our boy Boyd has arrived not a moment too soon. Isaiah Washington plays his awestruck partner, Jill Hennessy is his flinty boss, and hip-hop hero DMX is a mystery man who defeats Seagal in hand-to-hand combat. There is a lot of action, and Seagal fans will love it. The only extra on the DVD worth anything is the Music video; DMX's "Ain't No Sunshine"
