Summary: Yes, I loved it anyway!
Review: Even predictable action flicks provide good escapism. Some of the predictability does not happen because the script needed another rewrite.I am a Steven Segal fan. My first choice in films is action. "Exit Wounds" did not disappoint me on either count. However, several undeveloped script elements are just ploys to introduce characters or transition locations. Many of the problems with the movie belong to the screenwriter or film editor. I would have liked to see deleted scenes, which were not included in the DVD special features. Segal's fight scenes are not overdone: he goes in, gets the job done without excess violence, and walks away calmly. He could be considered a knight of the round table, a Jedi master, a starship captain, or your average guy with extraordinary qualities. This movie is action driven, but the intelligence that Segal brings to all of his characters shows through. Detroit cop Orin Boyd is a maverick officer, and his one-man shows frequently get him into trouble. The opening scene depicts him using his gut instinct, which is based in deductive reasoning and observation skills. He sees a cop, with a scraped ear, wearing an earring; the patrolman is one of the entourage who is escorting the Vice President from the podium, where he spoke about gun control, back to his hotel. Boyd rescues the VP from an assassination attempt, but instead of gratitude, he is sent from one precinct to another. Who are these assassins? That inherent question is never answered, though I thought it would be before the movie ended. I see this as an opening gambit to create the plausible impression that "bad cops" were involved. However, even scene setting should have a reasonable answer. Jill Hennesy is the captain of the new precinct and requires that Boyd attend a "rage class." In the class, he meets Tom Arnold, who is the comic relief, and never fails to do his job right. The classroom and meeting were also just a tool to provide a trusted resource when the investigation of a drug ring left no one to trust. Completely undeveloped is the romance between Hennesy and Segal, though innuendoes and quips pass between the two. A beautiful woman and a virile man, obviously attracted to one another, may have added the sparkle that is missing from most action films; it would have been so natural here, and not taken the focus away from the plot. DMX, like Segal, carries an aura of calm assurance. He is dynamic and sexy, and could well be another superstar and box office draw. His character is quiet, and his reasons for the involvement in the drug investigation are excellent. Even with the problems, I know I will watch this movie many more times. Therefore, I give it four stars. If you do not like violent, action packed movies with undeveloped script elements, then you might not like this one. Victoria Tarrani

Review: Dmx.All i have to say is that dmx is one of the best rapper slash actors out now.Dmx is the main character in this movie.Dmx makes you wounder whats gona happen next.oh and big props to the whole crew and cast. I had no idea of the ending.This movie is easy to follow butit is interesting and not boring.Peace

Summary: Stevie is back as we know him
Review: First of all i'm a big fan of the Akido Master 'Steven Seagal' so i wont give the movie bad ideas.But honestly i think why this movie went to a big sucsessfull movie is that Steven didnt make the movie by himself, but Joel Silver did the magic work.If u go back to The Patriot(not much action) and The Glimmerman (horrible act of work) they didnt were that much cashtakers in the cinemas.So Steve was getting low till Exit Wounds come up.
The Movie itself is great, when i saw it for the first time i thought Yeah!!! Steve is back. His fighting style and short but powerfull 3/5 min action scenes are damn good. Nice wiremoves also. In a short term EXIT WOUNDS is a real asskick movie lot of action and Stevies BIG SMILE is back(remember the scene in the resturaunt with Jill Hennessy. I'm really looking forward to his new movie, Half Past Dead. Way to go Steve

Summary: Most Under-Rated Film of 2001
Review: If you like Seagal's earlier films from the late eighties and early ninties, and thought the work in recent years has slipped, buy this movie and see the man come swinging & kicking back. Complimented by a convicing DMX, funny Tom Arnold and a kick-[rear] soundtrack, this movie is no doubt the best action flick of 2001.

Summary: This movie is off the chain!
Review: When I first went to see exit wounds, I thought it would be pretty bad. But I was mistaken. This movie delivered a punch as soon as it started. Some of the action was a little hard to believe, but after seeing it, I have to admit it looked really cool. The only scene that I found really hard to believe was when Latrell(DMX) tied his belt to a shotgun, threw it in the air, and killed 2 people. The DVD is really a good buy. There aren't as many special features as other DVD's such as Gladiator, but the ones on there serve their purpose.

Review: Steven Segal used to rule at one time in the theatres with his string of movies like "Hard To Kill" and "Under Siege" but then again by the 8th or 9th action flick they begin to look alike after. As for the movie "Exit Wounds" I found it to be stimulating actionwise. There is an exciting scence at the beginning that captured my attention so I was already in tuned and ready for more. Segal briefly stopped making movies and I hate to say that Steven put on a bit of pounds here. He can still [has his] technique in fighting does show here in the movie and co-star DMX his character this time is an improvement from his previous role in "Romeo Must Die".

Review: This movie was absolutely great. It combines DMX and Seagal, which is very original. It truly shows the "New" urban side of seagal. DMX truly shows a great acting role in this movie. Along with Isiah Washington, Tom Arnold, and Michal Jai White. If your up for a new original movie, you'll love this one. I have watched it 5 times, and I love it. If your looking for a stable "thick" plot movie, this is not yours. Offers great martial arts and comedy provided by TK. Also, a GREAT collection of cars are used!!

Summary: OLD SCHOOL MEETS NEW SCHOOL
Review: Steven Seagal + DMX= serious damage. Exit Wounds is an above average action film in line with some of Seagal's best...Steven plays his usual tough guy cop character and kicks some serious tail with insane martial arts. DMX is actually a pretty good actor who seems very natural and comfortable playing both the hero and villain role. Look for him to be a MAJOR STAR in the future. Much like [other movie], Exit Wounds deals with the issue of Police Corruption and Drug Trafficking. There is also some great comic relief provided by Anthony Anderson...and Tom Arnold. Seagal has aged a bit but he is still a very believable hero with the karate chops to back up his tough talk. Overall, a fine addition to any serious action DVD collection. Recommended.

Summary: The Worst Film I've Ever Seen
Review: Just moments ago I wasted two hours or so of my life watching "Exit Wounds." I think that all i need to do to review this movie is summarize it. Don't worry, the plot doesn't matter. Steven Seagal (we dont learn his name until much later in the movie) is a renegade cop who uses unorthodox methods. In the first scene he saves the vice president's life by shooting traitor cops and blowing up a helicopter with three shots from a 9mm pistol. Then he throws the VP over a bridge, somehow saving him (?) If you're confused so far, you should be. So next it is revealed that "some Michigan militia" was to blame. Anyway, after all this Seagal is chewed out for his disobedience, and demoted to the worst precinct in Detroit. There he somehow interrupts some undercover operation and gets demoted to traffic control. After a shootout, heroin is stolen from a police station. Steven Seagal is then voluntarily shocked with a taser on full charge by a fellow police officer for no apparent reason. Somehow he ends up investigating DMX, although its never made clear why. Along the line theres a highspeed chase where Seagal abandons (in perfect condition) his dying Superior Officer (both Seagal and the SO were in the same car crash.) DMX appears to be a big heroin dealer. However, hes actually a dot-com billionair computer whiz dedicated to exposing police corruption, and uncovering a drug lord. Seagal, DMX, and three other guys who are barely metioned in the rest of the movie then join forces and go in shooting. Throughout the battle there is a sword fight between the druglord and Seagal. In this scene the drug lord somehow does a full flip and attacks Seagal. The same drug lord then blocks Seagal's sword attack with his bare hand. Somehow he ends up dying. Next Seagal chases someone who's trying to get on a helicopter by climbing the rope ladder. The ladder gets caught on a sprinkler pipe and the helicopter is stuck until the bad guy gets half way up, at which point the rope breaks, causeing the badguy to land on a pipe and be impaled. Meanwhile, DMX somehow sets his shotgun up so that he can fire it by throwing it in the air and pulling a strap, which he does with deadly accuracy... The above is a completely accurate description of the plot of this movie. It makes even LESS sense when you have to watch it. Sure, this movie was intended as an action movie, but really, a SWORD FIGHT!? Even by action movie standards this move is terrible. Watch this movie only if you're into severe masochism.

Summary: Seagal ain't never gonna fly
Review: This film was not very good. The best aspect of the film was the highly underused Micheal Jai White who plays the films villian, it was him and his short sword fight with Steven Seagal that made this film partly watchable. Steven Seagal is so old and obviously carting a gut that he brings no class to the film at all, I mean lets face it the best film that he ever came in was probably Marked For Death which is followed closely by Nico and maybe Hard To Kill but now he's just past it completely and looks stupid when he tries to do action scenes. DMX is nothing to write back home about either. He's such a boring actor with no on screen charisma or heroism at all, he maybe better suited as a drug dealer that gets used by the main villian and then killed-quickly ! above anything lese though I don't think that DMX is going to win any awards for his acting or fighting. Exit Wounds was a very poor film from the director of Jet Li's Romeo Must Die... Micheal Jai White however looks good as the villian and comes across as calculating and powerful at the same time. This is something like Three-out-of-ten film and is best watched on the T.V programming rather than buying it.
