Summary: WHO'S WHO ?
Review: That's the kind of movie I like. Great actors, action, suspense and some food for the mind.

The director, Christian DUGUAY, made this "B" sci-fi movie SCREAMERS which was already terrific. Here, in THE ASSIGNMENT, he mixes real facts, the terrorist actions of Carlos, and a complex plot of the C.I.A. in order to eliminate him. And the mixture works !

And there is the final scene in a lake which deserves to stay in movie history.

A DVD to discover. You won't regret it.

Summary: The Assignment
Review: The Assignment is one of the greatest movies I've seen. Already one of the top 250 movies in the USA according to us.imbd.com. This movie has it all: action, mystery, suspense, and a little bit of romance just enough to make the movie interesting. Donald Sutherland is great and so is Aidan Quinn playing a double role as the malefactor and the benefactor. Truly a great movie, I give 5 stars for its acting, plot, action, and its historical elements. Well-written and crackling with suspense, frightening plausibility and realism, The Assignment is a harrowing look at the world of international terrorism and specifically at Carlos the Jackal, possibly the most ruthless terrorist who ever lived. With its heart-stopping moments and just all-around excellence, it has earned five stars.

Summary: Real Carlos has Brown Eyes, Imposter has Blue Eyes
Review: The movie opens with the real Carlos showing dark brown eyes. The Imposter (USN-LCDR) has blue eyes. It may seem like a small point to many. But to me it ruined the entire movie.

Summary: A mediocre film.
Review: There is nothing spectacular about this film. Adian Quinn and Ben Kingsley have acted decently, but overall, the film fails to deliver. Aidan Quinn's training scenes, which take up most of the movie, are pretty lame. Ben Kingsley dies unnecessarily and Donald Sutherland's acting is awful, at best. The plot could have been utilised more fruitfully and in the end, one is filled with huge disappointment for having wasted it.

Summary: Good
Review: This is a decent thriller that I saw in really limited release in the theaters, after which--in only about a week--it was pulled. That it's about a real terrorist hightens the experience of viewing the film. It's a bit contrived in spots, and the narrative is out of balance. It's a bit of a B movie through much of it, but a decent B movie that perhaps didn't deserve to be so overlooked.

Summary: Wonderful real life drama
Review: This is a great movie that mixes international intrigue with great acting and real life drama. Anyone who likes mystery, politics and action with a historical backdrop will enjoy this fast paced film.

Summary: There is really not much plot
Review: This is a predictable spy-espionage movie. I bought this movie and was fairly disappointed because I'm a Ben Kingsley fan. Acting is mediocre and you can tell that this is budget-constrained movie.

Summary: Exciting action flick.
Review: This is an exciting action flick about how the CIA, through the use of a look-alike, supposedly ended the career of the famous terrorist/assasin named Carlos. Aidan Quinn is excellent both as Carlos and as the naval officer who is Carlos' reluctant double. Ben Kingsley and Donald Sutherland are also quite effective as the Israeli and American Intelligence officers running the operation. There are some great scenes of teaching the naval officer how to "be" Carlos, and a terrific chase sequence. I really enjoyed this movie. END
