Summary: The Book of the Dead is a *gasp* BOOK?!?!?!
Review: If you know anything at all about ancient Egypt, rent this movie for laughs. My husband an I watched the flick and laughed ourselves silly. Anyone who can set a multi-million dollar movie in ancient Egypt, yet show us (in all seriousness) the "Book of the Dead" in a HUGE leather-bound edition, has *got* to be kidding!

The plot itself is contrived, the CGI is probably the worst I've ever seen (the Scorpion-Rock creature looks like Claymation), and there are abundant gratuitous historical inaccuracies and misinformation. But if you don't take things too seriously, you'll find yourself entertained enough to make sitting through it worth your time....albeit, not for the reasons you might think!

Summary: when will Hollywood learn.....
Review: No plot, no credible facts. King Scorpion and Imhotep didn't even live in the same time frame. When will Hollywood learn?!

This is a pathetic sequel to the first film, The Mummy (which was much more fun). It is also a film which make several references to older films in some scenes oh! so cliché (the jet airship?!?). The scriptwriters obviously did not care about making any sense when writing this junk. Alex's mother would worry but not the father?!?!?! Oh pleeease. The kid seems to have been, at first, a copy of Ramses Peabody (see the Amelia Peabody series written by Elizabeth Peters); however this dissolves after his meeting with the mummy.

A film as full of oh! so phony special effects as possible. Some scenes even look like video games. It is so incredibly gory too.

The two stars I give for making me laugh from beginning to end, and for its unbelievable stupidity throughout the story.

Summary: Don't buy this DVD
Review: Unless you want to line Universal's pocket, I'd advise you to stay away from this video.

Don't get me wrong though, I like the movie. It's pretty good escapist entertainment. I don't try to read to much into such movies. It was fun. But Universal is most likely going to release this title in an Ultimate Edition package just like the last one. They also created Ultimate Editions for American Pie, Meet Joe Black and a few others. So if you like this movie wait for the Ultimate Edition.

Summary: "Way better than the first one"!!!!
Review: "The Mummy Returns" was a fantastic movie. I loved it, and it also shed some light on the first "Mummy" movie. I think this movie is severly underrated.

Summary: Folks it is only a movie
Review: These reviews are more heated than a political debate. This sequel is not as good as the original, but still good entertainment, which is what it is suppose to be. It has action, romance and good special effects. Also has an excellent cast. I bought it, and I think it is worth the $20.00 I paid for it. How can you not LOVE MUMMIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Good Film
Review: I really had a good time with this film. Yes, it's not the greatest film ever made but it does get the job done in the thrills department. I even think that it's better than the first movie in some ways.Good Job to all the actors involved, and to the guys behind the special effects. Well worth a place in your DVD Collection.

Summary: I Guess You Can Call Them Extras
Review: Most of the special features on here are either boring, and I normally love the extras, or they are about the upcoming Scorpion King movie. It's mainly promotional stuff and worthless unless you are interested in the upcoming movie. Universal better fix all this if and when they release this movie as an Ulitmate Edition like they did with the first film.

Summary: The BEST Action-Adventure Movie Ever!! I ROCKS!
Review: I saw this movie expecting it to be as good as the orginal hit. It was a HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN I EXPECTED!! Stephen Sommers-GREAT JOB. You give us MORE-LOTS MORE-that we loved the first time around. BETTER than the original. I bought it and I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS Action-Adventure movie. SHOULD'VE been PG. IT's GOTTA win BEST PICTURE (though I've also thought of AI, Pearl Harbor, The Princess Diaries and MEGGIDO for BEST PICTURE). Buy this movie, you'll love it. The action is SUPER HARD-HITTING, the romance is HOTTER, the suspense is GRIPPING, the comedy is LAUGH OUT LOUD HILARIOUS and the special effects are OUT OF THIS WORLD!! THANK YOU to EVERYONE who worked on this movie and worked to make it a SUPER-SMASH HIT SEQUEL. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. I'm writing a sequel to your movie (a book) and I plan to release it in bookstores in 2010. Best of luck, guys; woohoo!!

Summary: Loads of action, not enough plot
Review: This was a good action movie, if that was what they intended it to be. The other was more of an adventure horror film. And the other one had some pretty good comedy. Unlike this one where ther'es a few one liners. But back to the sequel. It takes you to many different places instead of just egypt. It's got sand elements, city elements, and now it's got Jungle elements. Which make the movie very colorful, aside from the special effects. The action is really good. Their's some very good gun fights, more explosions, and some pretty good fist fights/weapon fights. Their is more female action in this one too, with some dagger fights. 2. Anyways, if you're looking for a good action film, that's feel good the whole way around, and a little bit of Indiana Jones in it, then this is the movie for you.

Summary: Not as good as the original but well worth a watch.
Review: The biggest problem with this movie is that it is a sequel to one of the all time great films. If you only compare it to the original it is naturally going to suffer. But compared to your average horror/monster flick it is at the very least average and in my opinion a little above average. There isn't a huge amount of character development. But then these are characters we already know. As long as you judge this movie on it's own merits and don't compare it strictly to the original I think you will enjoy viewing it.
