Summary: Boring Angels
Review: This movie is just...OK.It didn't deserve all the attention and gloss,or the months and months of filming or the actresses spending time in boot camp.

Summary: My Compliments To Miss Drew Barrymore!
Review: CHARLIE'S ANGELS is a fantastically fun film for me. I enjoyed every frame of it and I applaud Drew Barrymore for getting the ball rolling. If you didn't know Drew Barrymore was the Executive Producer of this film and she is also helming the sequel with all three returning! Yahooo!

This face paced, special effects ridden, technically advanced design, free-spirited rock'n'roll adventure is filled with humor and energy that left me bouncing my seat. Directed by MTV music video director McG (short for Joseph McGinty Nichol) the film is magic potpourri of fun and adventure. McG is also in pre-production of Charlie's Angeles's 2 as this review goes into writing.

How could you go wrong with a cast like Drew, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu teamed up with Bill Murray as Bosley and the original voice of Charlie from the TV show - John Forsythe. You have the perfect villain (you think) like Tim Curry and other nasties really well played by Sam Rockwell, Kelly Lynch and Crispin Glover (George McFly from the Back To The Future movies.) It's got everything and is a lot of fun!

The story is simple - in amiss-directed ply Charlie's Angles are guided to a wrong goal for the wrong purpose only to find themselves trapped and control and almost...well let's just say the way they get out of everything is fun, fantastic and very much sur-real Matrix like.

The DVD extras are very cool. Music videos, deleted scenes, bloopers, extended scenes and the commentary is hysterical to listen to. There are stills and lots of behind the scenes interviews that give you another inside into film making from props, costumes, stunts and special effects. Drew and the girls must have had a great time making this one because I had fun watching it. Hats off to you Drew! Get this DVD! (8-25-02)

Summary: Should've and Could've Been Better
Review: "Charlie's Angels" is based on an old action TV show starring young women who go out on missions to save the world. This movie is a comedy (action but mostly comedy). By the way, these Angels are totally different than what you saw in the old TV show. The name "Dylan" was never mentioned in the old TV show, only in the movie. All that is Charlie's Angels in the movie is the title and the concept of three women taking orders from a billionaire to go out and save the world.

But that's not the bad part about the movie.

In my opinion, if they would have chosen other actresses to play the Angels, the movie would've been much better... and much sexier. Definately Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu are terrible choices! Drew Barrymore is OKAY but still they should've chosen different actresses like Hallie Berry or something.

And for non-comic book fans, this can be a little lesson to all. The 7-issue spanning comic book series "Danger Girl" has the same concept as Charlie's Angels: three young women (in Danger Girl, they're spies) who go out on missions for an old man unable to do the job. Although "Danger Girl" is kind of a copy of "Charlie's Angels", still, it is much better, much sexier and the girls are much younger.

Too bad the movie wasn't based on "Danger Girl".

Overall, "Charlie's Angels" is a pretty good movie besides the stupid Matrix s**t and bad special effects.

Summary: An awesome kick-[rear], girl power movie!!!!!!
Review: This is my new favorite movie!!! This, Legally Blonde and Clueless are great grab-your-galpals-for-a-slumber party movie! Cameron, Lucy, and Drew are awesome! I definitly recomend this for anybody, except for children ages 8 and under. This movie can be watched over and over again, without getting boring! If you buy this movie you won't regret it!

Summary: Just what it was supposed to be.
Review: Come on people, this film was SUPPOSED to be over the top. It delivered a lot of laughs and action, too. The people who said it wasn't realistic didn't get the point of the movie. How could you be realistic when doing a film on Charlie's Angels? I have seen the movie two times in a row and laughed wholeheartedly both times. That was the point of the film. Do have a fun time watching a spoof on an old TV program. The DVD is excellent and has TONS of extras. You'll enjoy it!...

Summary: Fun, Fun, Fun.
Review: Pure Popcorn. The girls are hot. The movie whizzes by. It's action packed and even though it's a little silly at times, the source material wasn't a televison masterpiece.

A complete update of a premise that was not that great to begin with. I'll watch these girls for as many sequels they put out. As long as it stays this much fun.

Summary: McG's Angels
Review: T.V shows can be tricky to translate into films (The Avengers, anyone?). So when word got around that a movie based on the series Charlie's Angels was to be made, sceptics, purists and jaded critics were waiting for disaster. But what eventuated was less than disasterous, and despite some negative reviews, was a huge box office hit (one can probably attribute the film's B.O to Drew Barrymore's low-cut top and Cameron Diaz dancing around in her underwear). Regardless, the end result is somewhat dissapointing, considering the effort involved during the "troubled" production. The holy trinity of Barrymore, Diaz and Lucy Liu provides for some serious girl power action, and the main audience (guys) like it for the ever-present eye-candy.

What does let the film down, is that this is one of the countless subsequent action flicks put into motion after The Matrix, that over does the "flow-mo" action styled-high kicks. The thing is, the Matrix worked, because it's an alternate reality, a video game of sorts, wheareas Angels is supposidly set in reality. Nagging aside, is it any fun? Well, if you like unrealistic action, a plot so thin it almost pales to the insignificance and so many implausible moments it's hard to take it seriously. And that's the film's main problem, as much as you want to like it, there are so many little nagging annoyances that spoil the otherwise sporadically frenetic fun. It does work, however, if you're just looking for a flick that's good-natured, brainless popcorn, but if what you want is a solid action film with REALISTIC action, look elsewhere. But it is Hollywood flash-trash at it's most enjoyable.
