Summary: Classic Bond thriller but has faults
Review: After years of enduring Roger Moore as OO7 comes new life to the series with Timothy Dalton's debut in The Living Daylights.The plot is sophisticated yet muddled and confusing and there are some scenes you just don't understand. Screenplay is weak, and film is overlong. This is partly made up for with a terrific climax at a Russian air base, a thrilling hand duel between Bond and Necros while hanging out of a plane and an entertaining car chase through Ausrtian highways where Bond beats out his pursuers with the help of his Aston Martin. Gadgets include lasers, rockets, machine guns, and skis. Dalton gives a serious, controlled performance as Bond, which helps the film greatly. However, Necros is too bland as a henchman, and D'Abo is dull as a Bond girl. Kuscov is spirited as head villain, yet is not memorable or menacing. Whitaker is also somewhat spirited yet has the same problem as Kuscov. Watch Diamonds Are Forever if you want to see a witty, spirited, and classic villain in Charles Gray's portrayal of Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Love that pre-title where Bond uncovers foul play during a British Secret Service training course on Gibraltar. Stunts are great, especially the car ones and where OO3 goes of the cliff. A-ha's title song is good, and Barry delivers a heart racing score, which is also his last one. However, settings are drab and dull. Overall, good yet Dalton's second and last shot at playing OO7, Licence To Kill, is better overall and more entertaing.

Summary: Not Bad at All
Review: The Bond series came briefly back to life with this film, the first to star Timothy Dalton. After years of that stick-legged mannequin Roger Moore, it was a revelation to see someone actually giving a performance as Bond. And there's a whiff of Ian Fleming in the beginning, before the plot goes off spinning in the usual directions (nice action climax, though). It's a pity Dalton didn't get a chance to grow into the role and use some humor; he showed that he had the stuff in "Flash Gordon" as the hero's Robin Hood-like ally. After this, the series died; whatever Pierce is doing, it ain't Bond.

Summary: A few good things
Review: The Living Daylights isn't a bad OO7 film, it just isn't very good. The two good things are the song and Dalton. Everything else, P-U! D'Abo is one of the worst Bond girlz, and the villains aren't good. This film doesn't even have a Bond feel,it feels like you're watching some big TV-made drama. The henchman is SOO bland, and the villains are FAR from menacing. The plot is so confusing that I finally figured it out after seeing it six times! If you want to see GOOD OO7, check out Diamonds are Forever, Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, Thunderball, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your eyes Only, Octopussy, License to kill, or Tomorrow Never Dies. Avoid The Living daylights, The Man with the Golden GUn, A view to a kill, Live and Let Die, and Thw world Is Not Enough.

Review: I liked this film mainly for two reasons. They are the stunts and Dalton's performance. Everything else is poor. Myram D'Abo is dull and very boring, Kuscov and Whitaker are spirited but not at all menacing, there is about no action, the script is very thin, the plot is very confusing, the settings are not exotic, and John Barry's score is his worst. The gadgets are okay, yet many other OO7 filmshave much better gadgets. If you want my to see some good OO7 films, check out From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, The Spy who Loved Me, GoldenEye, and A View To a Kill. Avoid You Only Live Twice, The Man With The Golden Gun, Moonraker, The Living Daylights, and The World is Not Enough.

Review: this is a poorly done OO7 film and here's why: The acting is done without much spirit and humor except for Krabbe's Kuscov, the song is very annoying and you could fall asleep listening to it, the film is extremely boring and the dialogue is weak and theis film is way too overlong

Review: The Living Daylights has a few things going for it and they are good acting, a good plot, suspense, and great stuntwork. The bad things are an annoying song, d'Abo's dull Kara, a weak script, about no action, the plot needs a genius to untangle, and this film is VERY boring and goes on WAY too long.

Summary: OKAY DEBUT.....BUT JUST A NOVELTY
Review: After YEARS of Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton's The Living Daylights came as a breath of fresh air. But that breath of fresh air quickly turn stale. The Living Daylights had a plot that needs a Rhodes scholar to untangle. Despite Kell Tyler's Linda Collier in the pretitle sequence, Maryam D'Abo's dull and colorless Kara Milovy is the only Bond girl in this romp.As for Tim himself. He gave a good performance, but it is a performance that cannot sustain the Bond series for long. He is way too serious and tries to put Bond back to the way Ian Fleming wrote him...,a mistake considering the series became successful when the movie made a departure from the novels (unless it is a good novel, like On Her Majesty's Secret Service, or Dr. No). Oh, did I mentioned that it is quite boring? Yes, it is also bone dull in parts, especially when the action switch to Afghanistan. Dalton's second Bond, Licence To Kill, is more entertaining.

Review: Talk about underated. This movie has the best plot. It's got a lot of twists and turns. The character development and the script development is absolutely outstanding. Timothy Dalton is the best Bond ever. Dalton is way too underated. The best Bond movie ever. Perfect amount of plot and action. The stunts are terrific. The best stunt scene is when Bond and Necros are hanging out of the back of the plane when it's flying and they are fighting. Awsome stunt work. 2hrs 11min almost 2hrs 12min of pure excitement and entertainment. I recommend it to any Bond fan, action fan, movie fan, or Timothy Dalton fan.

Review: I would have to say Dalton is the best James Bond. a lot of people will say Connery was the best, he was the best at being the suave 007 but the new 007 movies have a lot of action to them and I would have to say Dalton is the best Bond ever .

Review: This is one of my all-time favorite Bonds. Timothy Dalton is great, as is the entire cast. The story is gripping and there are great henchmen, villains, and locations.
