Summary: Pure stupidity
Review: This is a complete waste of time to watch. First of all it drags WAY too much, is uninvolving and often boring. Do your brain a favor and stay clear.

Summary: ME AMY!
Review: The most ridiculous movie of all time: The movie wherein an annoying gorilla (Played by stagehand in costume) who remembers, via the old, dull, semi-frightened, glazy-eyed flashback expression, the jungle, long ago when she was but a wee gorilla... But Amy (Gorilla/stagehand) was rescued and donated to research, which is how Dr. Elliot (Walsh) got a hold of her, and teaches her sign-language. But seeing as how everyone who watches the movie probably wouldn't know how to read sign-language, they (the monkey/diretor) decided to invent a mechanism that says, in a computer-sounding little girl voice whatever Amy signs. And she usually only signs: "Me Amy. Amy good gorilla!" Which was cute up until the second time she said it. Anyhow, the story is, Amy and Dr. Elliot go into the Congo with an expedition team to look for another expedition team, and also to find diamonds, and to - why not? - find the answer to the question: "Why is Amy having bad dreams?" It turns out that Amy is having bad dreams because of the super-gorilla, man-eating, Great Gray worshipped gorillas that terrorize the expedition. The movie really hits its peak when Dr. Elliot tries to fight off the evil gorillas, and Amy saves him. Also with a neat-o laser thing that can shoot satellites to boot, makes Congo just a whole heck of a lot of fun.... If you happen to be sleeping while it's on. If you're awake it's quite painful.

Summary: Nothing like "Jurassic Park", but good
Review: Many people compare "Congo" to "Jurassic Park" because both are adaptations from books by the same author, Michael Crichton. However, the two movies are nothing alike in any way. While "Jurassic Park" is about man vs. dinosaurs, "Congo" is about a talking gorilla and a few people that go on an expedition to the Congo of Africa to find diamonds that are good enough to function as a laser weapon. The explorers are unaware of it, but they'll have to survive a few twists and turns along the way.

I thought "Congo" was a pretty good movie although parts of it are predictable. I was real impressed with some of the special effects toward the end of the movie. Luckily, it should be interesting enough to keep you from getting bored while watching it, so I recommend giving it a try.

Review: What in the world was this movie about. Gorillas, with super Ape powers? It was more like "Bonzo meets Dr Frankenfurter".. This movie was a complete waste of time, and all the hype that surrounded it .This film was a joke. All I want to know is, did anybody get fired ?

Summary: Comedy/Adventure
Review: I laughed my hat off when I watched this movie. The relationship between Amy, the gorilla and her trainer is unique humor. Ernie Hudson is great as the leader of the expedition and it's hysterical how the natives relate to him being in charge. Ernie's accent adds to the humor. I didn't read the book but found the movie quite entertaining. Some technical stuff thrown in there that I found interesting also.

Summary: THIS IS A SPECTACULAR MOVIE-IGNORE THE CRITICS
Review: Congo is exciting, entertaining, scary in parts, and the acting IS good. I have seen countless movies rented during times that I was snowed in, so I KNOW by Odin. The critics came down way to harsh on this film and need to learn how to enjoy movies. The look of vicious anger on the gray gorillas' faces was terrifying. Watch it and watch it again

Summary: Congo
Review: Ok, do yourself a favor and read the book. Now you can watch the movie! And you find out, after reading the book, that the movie is horrible. Ok, do yourself a favor: Don't read the book, because books are often a lot better/different than movies. So, just go RENT (I could not stress the word rent anymore) it and watch it. It's also terrible. The way I see it: you can't get to like this movie. If you want to see it just because you've read the book, rent it, although believe me, it's a BIG let-down. Or if you're just looking for a good action-adventure, Jarrasic Park-style movie: don't look anywhere near this. The gorrila is absolutely the most annoying thing that has ever graced the Silver Screen. (Yes, even surpassing good, old Jar Jar!) The acting is bad. The special affects are bad. (Plus, there wasn't any reason to put them in the movie, but someone thought it'd be a good idea... shame on that person.) There is a lazer gun that can shoot satellites & looks oddly like bad sci-fi. A big let-down, and pretty much a waste of time. Unless, of course, you're the director of this movie, and want me to be in one of yours: in which case, I found the movie very good and enlightening!

Summary: Absolutely Terrible
Review: I had high hopes for this film when it first came out but the result is a complete waste of time.

The Actors look like they really dont want to be there and the "Gorilla" is totally unbelievable. To make matters worse, halfway through the film they seem to throw in some pointless special effects which although very pretty ( I think they were done by ILM ) serve no purpose.

Avoid this one or you'll stink up your dvd player

Summary: A great Action/adventure/sci-fi/thriller!
Review: I like this video. It has some great laughs as well as some great chills. I think the acting is great and I hope that they come out with congo 2. Buy this video!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: This film is worse than the book
Review: I read the book in highschool and enjoyed it somewhat. A few months later I rented the video and was upset at how bad it was. Outside of The Lost world this is the worst adaption of a Michael Crichton novel that I have ever seen. The only reason that I give it two stars is that if you haven't read the book you may actually like it.
