Summary: Before The Crow, He was a Cop
Review: This film here was the first Brandon Lee American movie. He had done some limited TV spots and a film in Hong Kong prior to Showdown in Little Tokyo though. For a low-budget film, it's sure to keep both Lee and Lundgren fans enthralled. The fight scenes are well choreographed, and the banter between Lee and Lundgren adds some humor as well. Watching Lee's budding talent, it makes you wonder what would have been had he not died on the set of The Crow. Don't expect the quality of The Crow here, but Showdown in Little Tokyo is definitely worth picking up. It would have been nice if the DVD was offered in widescreen, and if some extras had been thrown in, but the film alone is worth the price of admission.

Summary: Non stop action and lot of fun
Review: This film is so naive, full of mistakes and too short. I love it!!! Dolph never looked better, and of course Brandon's moves are great as always. The plot is simple: two caps in Little Tokyo figting against japanese mafia and one of them is looking for his personal revenge (Dolph, of course). The greatst thing about this film is that Dolph is the one who is born warrior and live by samurai codes, and Brandon doesn't have a clue about his culture! Martial arts are on the level and there is a lot of funny moments (such as the scene where Brandon told Dolph that he has the biggest d..k he had ever seen on a man!!!). Also, there are many mistakes (tatoos are wipping off, doll in the car instead of man...), but it's doesnt't matter. This film is very cool and you must seen it!

Summary: Great movie for Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee fans
Review: This is probably Dolph's best role. This is also one of Brandon's best film roles as well. A fun movie.
Dolph Lundgren is a man, and he's not afraid to act like a man! Dolph simply oozes masculinity in this film. He's in great shape, he's confident, he picks up gorgeous women , he eats a traditional Japanese style lunch (even the old Japanese waitress can't help but to flirt with this man!), he has two residences. He is such a man that he even built himself a Japanese style home with those rice paper type walls complete with a hot tub and equipped with Japenese ninja type weapons.
Tia Carrera and most of the other women here simply ooze feminine sexuality in this film!
The very fact that Brandon Lee is in this film adds a lot. This is probably to only film he made where his good natured personlity and sense of humor come across so well. Dolph's Japanese upbringing and Brandon's style contrast perfectly.
They should bring this out in a widescreen version and add some extras. The picture is not bad, but could probably be improved.
Note: the Yakuza here were originally introducted in 'The Punisher', but they perfected their role here. This movie deals with the violent Yakuza and some of the sword scenes are intense.
Also I own both VHS and DVD versions of this movie,and they kept the front cover the same, but they changed the back cover. The original VHS back cover shows a nice shot of Brandon in the coffee shop, and Dolph carrying Tia in his arms. They should not have removed those shots, as they capture the film far better than what they replaced it with.
I have noticed that they are changing the covers on both the front and back of a lot of movies they convert to DVD. They are removing pictures of things like guys carrying women in their arms. If a guys has his shirt off they replace that. And they are also removing any pictures with sexy women and replacing them with shots of just their head. (they did that with Tia Carrera on the inside cover. In this movie she's very sexy but they only show her head in the inside DVD movie cover. And she has this stern expression on her face. In the entire movie she's sexy so that picture is out of place. Politically correct.

Summary: Unintentionally hilarious...
Review: This is the best bad movie I think I can remember seeing. It's so silly, so predictable, and yet it's somehow holds interest. Maybe that's because we want to see if it gets any worse. Lundgren stars as the cop equivalent of Superman. He can jump over cars, defeat sumo wrestlers in hand-to-hand comment, woo Tia Carerre, lift a car on its side and then blow it up with one shot, and he can also build a house by himself. He is partnered with Brandon Lee, who is actually quite funny and entertaining, despite somewhat limited screen time. The two join together and bring down the Yakuza in a part of LA called Little Tokyo. This movie is filled with cheesy moments so bad you'll die laughing. I enjoyed this film's badness because it seemed so serious in what it was trying to produce. My favorite part was when Lundgren jumps over the convertible. He must be about eight feet in the air! Michael Jordon couldn't do such a stunt without scraping his feet on the car. "Showdown in Little Tokyo" needs to be seen to be believed. Is it tons of fun? You bet. Is is also very ridiculous? Of course.

Summary: ALL FIVE STARS GO TO BRANDON LEE
Review: This movie is a pretty awful cliche of the buddy/cop/martial arts film genres, but be that as it may, it was a real pleasure to watch Brandon Lee in the fight scenes and one can only imagine how good he would have been if he had practiced martial arts all of his life instead of coming back to it more than a decade after his father's death. A friend of mine who loved The Crow didn't even know Brandon was Bruce Lee's son, but you could have guessed it watching this movie being that Brandon's moves are so reminiscent of Bruce's; in their films, both float like dancers, but when they deliver their punches and kicks, you know you're watching someone who knows real fighting. I won't promise you'll like this movie (I didn't like it myself, especially the part when Gary T. kills the blond woman with a sword: that went far beyond being merely gratuitous to repulsive); however, if you practice martial arts, you'll appreciate the authentic martial arts performed by Lee.

Review: THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT TWO COPS. ONE IS A ALONE MAN WHO'S PARENTS WERE KILLED IN TOKYO BY A JAPANESE MOBSTER RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. NOW HE IS OUT FOR REVENGE. THESE TWO COPS ARE OUT TO CATCH THIS JAPENESE MOB AND HAVE A FUN TIME. THIS MOVIE HAS A HOT ACTRESS TIA CARRERE AND SAME AS A LOT OF OTHER GIRLS STARRING IN IT. BUY THE MOVIE TO SEE THE ACTION.

Summary: First rate show for Lundgren and Lee fans
Review: This movie is very well-rounded. You have lots of action, drama, humor and even a bit of a love tale. Brandon's humor really makes the movie more enjoyable, not to mention his style conrasted to Dolph's. Their talents are really put on display here, this seems to be the most martial arts- oriented movie either one of them have done, and they do not disappoint. If you are an action fan, Lee or Dolph fan, this movie is for you. The love scenes are a little cheesy, but the movie is very good and I never get bored of watching it over and over again.

Review: Tia Carrere NEKID, a pretty stoner decapitated by a samurai sword, nude women buried in sushi? Sure sounds like a porno film, don't it? Well, it's not. It's got nudity, kung fu, and Brandon Lee and that's more than what you'd ask out of this film. The Martial Arts scenes are excellent, ranging from a brawl in a bathhouse, to a duel in a street fair. There's also twice as much comedy here as you'd expect, most of it delivered by Brandon ("In between cooking cycles, your'e supposed to baste us."). Dolph Lundgren is also fun to watch, and he sometimes rather inadvertendly contributes to the comedy ("Take this, point it in the direction things are, pull the trigger and they'll fall down.") For nudity, kung fu, and a very good film with Brandon Lee, SHOWDOWN is exceptional. Oh, speaking of Brandon, here's another of his humorous lines ("Kenner, just in case we get killed, I wanted to tell you, you have the biggest
---- Iv'e ever seen.")

Review: Tia Carrere [bare], A blonde stoner decapitated by a samurai sword, strippers covered in sushi. Sure sounds like a [skin] film, don't it? Well it's not. This is proof positive that the standard Lethal Weapon formula (To polar opposite cops trailing drug lords) can be made into more with the drug lords being Japanese, and more kug fu fighting is inserted. SHOWDOWN is very well made, very funny, and very action-packed (although it would only have helped if it were 10 or 15 minutes longer.)All the action scenes are well done, ranging from a brawl in a bathhouse, to a duel in a colorful street fair. At there's twice as much comedy here as antone could expect, mostly curtosy of Brandon Lee ("In between cooking cycles, your'e supposed to baste us."), who if he had not become an action star, would easily have had a future in comedy. Dolph Lundgren is also alotta fun as a vengence-driven samurai detective, and at times, rather inadvertendly cotributes to the abundant humor ("Point this in the direction that things are, pull the trigger, and they'll fall down.") On the level of blending action, comedy, kung fu, and gratuitous nudity, SHOWDOWN works like a charm. And just for grins, one more hilarious quote from the legendary Brandon Lee ("Kenner, just in case we get get killed, I wanted to tell you, you have the biggest ---- I've ever seen on a man.")

Review: TWO COPS [DOLPH LUNDGREN AND BRANDON LEE, THE DECEASED SON OF BRUCE LEE] GO AFTER THE YAKUZA IN THIS VIOLENT LIITLE MARTIAL ARTS ACTIONER. AS ALWAYS, THE ACTING IS MEDIOCRE. BUT, THE ACTION MAKES UP FOR IT. HAS LOTS OF EXPLOSIONS AND LOTS OF NUDE SCENES TO KEEP THINGS LIVELY. THIS SHOULD PLEASE MOST MARTIAL ARTS FANS.
