Summary: Farewell, Mr. Bond
Review: After Tina Turner growls the tuneless title song, the movie begins with Pierce Brosnan's James Bond getting away in his Aston-Martin with yet another luscious babe... only now, in the politically correct '90s, she puts him down for his smoking, drinking, and womanizing. Sean Connery would have given her the ejector seat, but poor Pierce just sits there and makes his standard I've-just-bitten-a-lemon face. It only gets more incomprehensible as this pathetic, pure plastic attempt at a Bond movie grinds on.

Summary: THE BOND FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM!
Review: This is the first of Pierce Brosnan's 007 films and his best so far. Brosnan is the perfect Bond, he has the look, charm , and that tongue and cheek humor needed for any bond. Its to bad he could'nt have done it sooner instead of Timothy Dalton. The movie has a world record bunjee jump as an opening scene, and Tina Turners Title song gets you reved up for this action packed, well acted, and simply awsome movie. The story brings you into the crubling Soviet Union and revisits the Cold War in a modern setting. I've been a Bond fan for a long time and this film is in my top 3 of ALL TIME! Goldeneye is pure Gold.

Summary: Well, it's okay...
Review: I thought Brosnan did very well considering this was his first Bond movie - indeed all the actors were very convincing. The trouble was though that about 3/4 of the way through this film I got bored. It was just too predictable - fight, fight, kill bad girl, fight, fight, kill bad guy. Up until they got to Cuba I was really enjoying it, but afterwards it just got a bit dull. However the bit with Boris clicking the pen was really clever and tense, and I liked the bit when Bond went to see that gangster guy in Russia. Not a bad film, but The World Is Not Enough was better.

Summary: Bond in the Grand Tradition Has Returned
Review: After much time, and a few rough movies, Goldeneye brings James Bond back to his roots, as the Cold War-rior that he has so oft portrayed. Pierce Brosnan as Bond is magnificent. I won't waste your time relaying the plot and storyline here, you've all seen Bond films before. By the end of the film, Bond has foiled the master plan of some devious miscreant, and gets the girl. This DVD release features some very cool bonuses as well. There's a running audio commentary, and two rather entertaining documentaries. So sit back and allow your escapist fantasies to run wild as you enjoy this film.

Summary: New Bond New Music
Review: "GoldenEye" is Pierce Brosnan's first film as James Bond. I think many of the older Bond fans expected a performance in the vein of Roger Moore. Surprisingly, Brosnan seems more like a hybrid of Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton, combing the best elements that each brought to the role. He possesses intelligence, wit, charm and dedication and delivers these with no-nonsense passion and drive. However, Brosnan's facial features lack maturity and he appears too physically lightweight for the role. Unfortunately, his physical presence undermines his performance in several scenes and weakens his overall interpretation of Bond. The nice looking production is also undermined. The rambling script leaves the film looking for a plot, which really never does develop. The film's high points are the miniatures by Derek Meddings; probably his best work in the series, and Eric Serra's excellent score. Serra's interpretation of "The James Bond Theme" over the opening gun barrel trademark is powerful and very innovative. One can not appreciate Serra's contribution to this film unless the DVD is played through a surround stereo system with a good amount of bass. The original music he composed for the St. Petersburg tank sequenced should have been used instead of the obviously ghost written piece heard in the film. Speaking of DVD, this is the nicest looking print of any film I have seen in this format. The sound quality is equally impressive. It will just blow you away.

Summary: Hey, I think we've found a winner!
Review: James Bond is by far the one of the best movie franchises in history. And unarguably the most successful. All this coming from a Star Wars fan. Yeah, Star Wars is great, but would it be as successful as Bond after 19 films? I'm not sure. But after Timothy Dalton's poor display as Bond, I was beginning to move away from 007. However, the birth of a new 007, a better 007, soon changed my mind. I watched Goldeneye, Pierce Brosnan's first attempt at the legendary agent, and I saw something I had never seen before. Bond was back, and better than ever. He had now made me a believer that someone could play Bond, James Bond better than Roger Moore. Pierce Brosnan did a terrific job, and soon, I was playing the video game based on the movie, trying to be like him as much as possible. Was it the plot? No, I don't think so. I actually believe that Goldeneye has one of the weaker plots in the Bond series. The idea of satellites taking out entire cities doesn't seem like a Bond mission, but what're you gonna do? However, with 006 as his enemy in the film, it actually gave him an enemy that made me say, "He could kill James." We've seen enemies in the past that just couldn't cut it. Take Goldfinger for example. You knew he couldn't take out James, so he had Oddjob. Or Drax in Moonraker. He couldn't kill Bond either, so he had Jaws try for him. But now there was an enemy that could actually hold his ground and fight 007, not have some other guy do it for him. That really excited me. Good call on that one. Second, I think that having Natalyia fight back a little, like when she knew how to use a gun and could really destory Boris if she had the chance, was a nice touch. I've seen Bond girls that were harmless....but don't take me wrong and try to get rid of 'em. That would be fatal for all us guy 007 fans. But it was nice to have someone actually helping Bond out a little, even though he wouldn't need her held in the first place. This was a great movie, and in my opinion, the best 007 movie to date. Although a little disappointed with Tomorrow Never dies and the wimpy bad guy in Elliot Carver, Pierce Brosnan is the best Bond ever. And he proved it when I was The World Is Not Enough opening day. You can tell that he finally feels comfortable playing 007, and in only three films. It took Roger Moore and Sean Connery at least five before they were completely believable. And that is just one more reason to see Goldeneye. Great action, great acting, great film. (The end battle between James and Alec is the best! I won't tell you who wins, but considering there have been two more films since, you should figure that one out with no problem.)

Review: Goldeneye does suffer from a weak sript,but you have to admitt that Pierce Bronson was born to play James Bond. he does the role justice even if the story in this and the next two films were weak.I feel the world has changed so much and so also have the movies that someone like James Bond just does not fit in anymore.

Review: I thought that this was the best Bond movie I've ever seen (I've seen all of them). This one had the best plot and the most interesting characters. Movie Plot: Bond must stop former agent, Alec Treveliyan from using the the space weapon "GoldenEye". The acting was excellent, and there was plenty of action. It's a must see and I highly recommend it. Buy it today!

Summary: '90's Bond with classic '60's feel.
Review: My favorte James Bond movie. I've seen them all from Dr. No (1962) to The World is Not Enough (1999). Up until I saw Goldeneye, my favorite Bond was Goldfinger (1964) which is now a close second place. Goldeneye was the second-best movie of 1995 next to Braveheart. A movie set in modern times, stunts, technology, actors, and characters, but still managed to preserve that 1960's feel that 007 movies are known for. Martin Campbell did a magnificant job!
