Summary: Great flick - average DVD
Review: I'm not going to pretend to be a movie reviewer for the New York Times or anything - I'm here to give people my impressions of the overall quality of the DVD release. If you didn't like the movie - you wouldn't buy it.The video transfer is quite nice. Even though the packaging states that it is an enhanced amporphic transfer, there are noticeable scenes where they simply trimmed the top and bottom off the shot to give it the letterbox effect. An example of this is when Utah is confronted by Bunker and those punks at the shower. After Bodi and Utah kick some booty, Pappas runs into them "accidentally" and quickly asks if they have seen someone with a car stereo. Normally, after this he continues walking and you can see Pappas wince like he almost blew Utah's cover. In the DVD, all you see is the top of Pappas's head beacuse of the letterbox effect. Now, I'm not sure if the entire movie was simply a cropped version of the pan-scan and enhanced - but some parts definately are. Don't get me wrong though - this does not ruin the movie! In terms of sound, they did quite a nice job. The DTS track goes very deep in the surfing scenes. Nothing bad to say - nothing astounding. Simply a good soundtrack. What bothered me a bit was the extremely poor quality menus and the lack of any "real" extras. This alone dropped the disc a star. Basically - if you liked the movie - you'll love the DVD. They did a good job compared to most DVD's out there!

Review: Ok, A little reality check here. I am seeing way too many dvds on Amazon that are rated pathetically high. Please, this was not a good movie. It could only be rated good because it is not as bad as one might think. Keanu Reeves gives his typical performance (overacting, yet underwhelming). Help me out here. Amazon star reviews need to mean something. The unfortunate trend here on Amazon is that if people like a movie, they give a review. Otherwise, they do not bother. Therefore, most reviewed movies garnish five stars. I apologize if this review offends you, but it needs to be said. Five stars for POINT BREAK! Ugh!

Review: if your a bank robbing flick keanu patrick or surfing kind of person you should check this film out what is the worst that could happen besides laughing at keanu the whole movie also be sure to see if you can spot some one from the red hot chili peppers in this movie

Summary: Intelligent and intense
Review: I remember when I saw the trailers for this film so long ago I thought how stupid could a film get. A bunch of guys robbing banks in masks of the ex-presidents. So I never bothered to see it in the theater. I missed out. This film is phenomenal. And I have to give Keanu Reeves credit. He has a good understanding of what will work on film even though his acting talents are less than exemplary. But he was great in Point Break as a young hot shot FBI agent assigned to hunt down the ex-presidents. Point Break has all the elements that make a film for alot of guys: action, conflict, comedy, some sweet chicks, and ultimately redemption. It just grabs you from the start and never lets you go. Makes me wish that I could surf and chase bad guys and lay up with Lori Petty. Patrick Swayze was great as Boedi the self appointed leader of the ex-presidents. A can't go wrong film!

Summary: Enjoy the natural high of Point Break¿
Review: When this movie was released in the theatres, T2 was the #1 movie. I loved T2 and when someone told me Point Break was a better movie, I thought they were crazy. Now I own both movies and I watch Point Break all the time while T2 gathers dust. Point Break is about a struggle between a rebellious surfer tribe with chief Boudy (Patrick Swazye), who lives life by their own terms, and 'the system' lead byFBI agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves), who wants them to become productive members of society. You're never quite sure whom to rute for. You'll love to love these bad guys. Packed with action and even some comedy ..., this underrated movie ranks among my all-timefavorites. The beautiful beaches with powerful surf, one of the best chase scenes ever (right up there with Raising Arizona's) and high flying skydiving scenes make this movie perfect for DVD. I'm glad the producers have taken the time to create a quality DVD withwidescreen anamorphic picture and DTS sound. Pick this one up when you get the chance, it's a great movie with excellent replay value.

Review: If you like excitement and action this movie is for you! If you enjoy the FBI (robbery division) you will enjoy the suspense of following a adrenaline rush of unlimited stunts. Not only is this movie entertaining, but it is also just plain old fashion fun. I can finally say that someone actually gave it some thought when it came to disquises.
