Summary: A Fantastic Look At The Early Melvin Gibson
Review: I saw this movie when it was originally released in the early 1980s, and thought it GREAT, simply superb. I definitely remembered Kurt and Michelle appearing in it, but I had completely forgotten that it was an early Melvin Gibson flick. At this stage of his career, even for his exemplary "The Road Warrior," Melvin presented a rather low-key stage presence. Melvin had not yet perfected the face-making, eye-rolling, occasional chicken-cackling histrionic techniques that imbued his "Lethal Weapon" series with such Oscar-quality richness.

Melvin Gibson fans will enjoy seeing this, a snippet from Melvin's earlier days and a testimony to how much Melvin's acting stature has grown since then. He is a Theater Titan, a National Treasure of American Cinema. Melvin Gibson is what other actors such as Lawrence Olivier, Marlon Brando and Buddy Hackett only DREAMED of becoming.

Summary: Fantastic Movie
Review: If you looking for a movie with talented actors at acting this is the movie you got to see. If you want to watch a movie with some comody mixed with crime and action with a touch of romance this is the one for you. I am not a huge fan of action movies that always have to have love in the air but this movie isn't bad with the plot it has that the action and romance fall into. If I and other reviewers give this movie five stars you should believe and say so yourself.

Summary: HOT, HOT, HOT
Review: IT SEEMS TO MOVIE THAT HOWEVER MICHELLE PFEIFER SHARE THE SCREAN WITH ; IT GIVES A GOOD CHEMESTRY (PACINO, REDFORD, GIBSON, CLOONEY). THIS MOVIE HAS A GOOD STORY (AHONEST WOMAN NAVIGATTING BETWEEN A NOT SO HONEST COP & A NOT SO DISHONEST "EX"-DRUG DEALER). THE SCENE IN THE HOT BATH TUB AND THE CELLLAR ARE VERY HOT... GOOD MOVIE

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A great movie from the 80's
Review: Mac McKussic (Mel Gibson) is an ex drug-dealer wants to go straight. Maguire (JT. Walsh) is an agent determined to put Mac in jail. He got the chance when he heard about Carlos (Raul Julia) an old friend of Mac, who also a drug-dealer himself, is coming to California...and Mac is the only one who know him. Nick Frescia (Kurt Russell) in the other hand, is the police who is responsible for the case. He is reluctant to pursue Mac since he is Mac's best friend. He believed in Mac but if Mac screw up he might have to put him in jail. Mac is attracted to Jo Ann (Michelle Pfeiffer) an owner of a restaurant and their relationship becomes a little complicated when Nick also trying to get close to Jo Ann.

I guess this is one of the best 80's movie I've seen. Mel Gibson and Michelle Pfeiffer's chemistry was awesome. Raul Julia gave one the finest performance. And I never really like Kurt Russell with his action movies...but it's an exception in this one.

Summary: The best movie Phieffer, Gibson, Russell, or Walsh has made!
Review: Movie is well worth the cost. I loved the scenes between Gibson and Pfeiffer and the scenes between Pfeiffer and Russell. It seems her chemistry was great with either man. Movie had a great ending, and I thought the plot was sooo believable. You must see this movie. It will quickly become one of your favorites.

Review: One of my favorite Mel Gibson movies. The look is gorgeous, pure eye candy. The hot tub scene is worth the price!

Summary: good movie and well acted
Review: Reviews have been fair to poor; however, I enjoyed it. Friendships and conflicts abound and the plot is well constructed for the subject matter. Raul Julia is excellent and displays the charisma and range despite his limited role. Gibson and Russel pull off the friendship roles convincingly, and Michelle Pfeiffer, who I understand dislikes this movie so much she won't mention it, is dazzling as a restauraunter who is a perfectionist. The late J.T. Walsh noted as a fine actor by everyone is also convincing. I am not quite sure why the movie is rated so poorly compared to many movies in this class that are not as well acted. Perhaps this is a movie that requires personal moorings that reviewers like Maltin could not possibly have. The movie is a worthy weekend rental. The reason I reviewed this movie is that I have been looking for the soundtrack. Dave (Grusin) please send me the soundtrack (Smile).

Summary: Surrender to Me
Review: Saw this movie at the theatre, beleive it or not,
fell in love with this movie from the get go, what more can
this movie offer you, California,Sun,Beaches,Good Food, and
of course Drugs...
The movie has twists and turns, it could possibly be a real life
role, that of Dale M, real drug dealers during late 80's and
early 90's really lived like this, not like (Scarface).
LOW KEY...ON THE BEACH.
Robert Towne, could not have scripted a better screenplay
or story.
It's a story with values,characters,
friends.
I can promise you, you will go to the Blockbuster store
the next day and start looking up other (Towne),(Russell) (Pfeiffer) & of course (Gibson) films,
and start eating at Chic Los Angeles Italian Eateries.
This is an independant film , before they became popular,
my hat also goes off to: Mr.Mount who brought us Dale,Nick,
Joanne,Carlos, for all of us to enjoy....thanks Thom.

enjoy it.

Summary: A master piece among crime movies
Review: Tequila Sunrise is an excellent crime/action movie. It has suffered a bit from bad press, which in my opinion is totally unjustified. People have said, that the actors were wasted on this kind of movie. This is nonsense! Tequila Sunrise is one of the best movies in its genre BECAUSE it was made with good, instead of the usual mediocre actors. It shows clearly, that with good acting and a somewhat complecated script a rather unasuming movie can rise to unexpacted heights. Mel Gibson and Kurt Russel are particularly well suited to their respective roles as sympathetic ex-crook and not so sympathetic police officer. Michelle Pfeiffer in a somewhat unusual role as the woman in between these two lends a depth to the part which females in this kind of story usually lack. Finally Raul Julia as a mexican dope smuggler is a very enjoyable sight. You can never really hate him even when he starts issuing execution orders. A pleausre to watch.
