Summary: Quintessential Bruce Willis - tough guy wins in the end.
Review: I have watched this movie at least a dozen times. I never gettired of Bruce telling the bad guy, "Hit me again and I'll killyou." Then he does it. If you're not a Bruce fan (Die Hard,Fifth Element, etc.), this movie may not be for you. For the rest of us, it's definitely a winner. A lot of action and some low-key humor. This is not great acting, great writing, great character development or great directing - just great entertainment.

Review: I'm a female who happens to love action movies. In fact I watch action movies over chick flicks anyday, so this movie is for fans of good action movies. I would love to see Bruce and Damon in another movie together. I thought they had great chemistry. This is a good film if you are looking for laughs and a good action flick. Halle Berry has a small part in the film also. I thought the actress who played the little girl stole the movie. She was spunky, but if I were her parent, she would have been punished until she was full grown for all that talking back she did, but she was brave to go through everything she went through.

Review: if there is anyone who has not seen this film then i strongly suggest that you find a copy and watch it! it has everything you could possibly want from gripping action to hilarious humour. a deffinate must for all action and Bruce Willis fans.

Summary: Good action without the ham
Review: In this movie Willis plays what has got to be barnone one of the baddest good guys action movies have seen in a long time; I'm not talking Die Hard here, but an even worse attitude. Some people he lets off easy with a swift, hard punch, and even gives them the choice of where to take it: "Head or gut?" And then there are some who earn "Hit me again and I'll kill you," which is more than a threat. His constant harassment of the greasy Senator Baynard, who got him kicked off the Secret Service years earlier, is hysterical.Wayans puts in a solid performance as a player ousted from the NFL for drug abuse, mixed up with Willis after his fiancé is murdered. Somehow it doesn't work quite like a buddy movie; the characters move in different directions, but when they decide to work together they make great partners; it's a role they grow into over the course of the movie. One thing I really like about this movie is that the bad guys aren't the usual mad scientist take-over-the-world fare. The head honcho is just a very rich man with a mission to get even richer by legalizing gambling in his state; it's as simple as that. Perennial supporting actor Taylor Negron is downright frightening as the villain's right-hand man Milo, who's a little more on the psychotic side than his fellow henchmen but shows it only with extreme violence and a twisted sense of humor. Think of an old western with the corrupt ranch owner hiring a ruthless killer leading a similarly ruthless but less intelligent band of thugs, and that's pretty much the picture. They're not glamorous, just evil. Of course to really throw a monkey wrench into the works, Willis also has an estranged wife who he found out just a day or two before this mess was... entertaining his best friend (he took it pretty well), and a problem daughter who's basically just a product of her parents' rocky marriage. When the daughter starts to follow her father around, things really get out of hand. It's not non-stop action but it's pretty good, with a decent story to back it up. The Last Boy Scout reminds me a lot of a western or some old noir detective film in some ways, but with a few more twists and explosions thrown in. Definitely worth seeing, and worth watching again.

Summary: Don't listen to the critics
Review: It's funny how every critic sees this movie as an all-out attack against women, when every female I know that saw this absolutely loved it. What the critics fail to realize is that when you watch a movie, you are drawn into that movie's world. These two men exist in the sleazy underbelly of L.A., where men are portrayed just as badly as women (did everyone forget how Marcone treated Halle Berry like garbage, so she left him and he ended up killing her?). Is that a favorable light? No. Everyone in this movie has an ulterior motive, usually for their own benefit. During the 90's, these are the heroes we are treated to: a drunken private eye who hates himself and a drug-abusing football player who seems to be waiting for death. Everyone seems to have forgotten the 90's version of 'redemption' at the end. . .No spoilers, but any action fan (or student of the human psyche) should watch this film.

Summary: Bogart, move over
Review: No guilt involved. A snappy, violent, very fast moving action fest. Full of one-liners, fast editing, and "tough - guy" humor. I wouldn't let my children watch this movie, but I like it. Especially late at night when I want explosions, gunfights and not to much intellectual baggage. In my opinion this is one of Bruce's best flicks.

Summary: Not for the Faint of Heart
Review: One of the most brutal, foul mouthed, and unrepentent action movies to come out of the early 90's. Adding the child to the action scenes and profanity laced screaming matches is gutsy, to say the least. Last Boy Scout is also smart, funny, fast paced & intense. Willis is a drunken P.I. & Wayan is a banned football QB. They're both losers. Most of the movie involves them running around L.A. shooting and punching people. The plot is some nonsense about legalizing sports gambling. Worth repeated viewings.

Review: Probably the only action film of 1991 that people will remember in a couple of years and one of the film cop-buddy films that didn't spawn a sequel ( which it should have ) A great film with a great cast and a good storyline. A terrific blend of action and comedy.

Summary: the action film is carried to surreal extremes
Review: the action film is carried to a rather intriguing extreme with THE LAST BOY SCOUT, a movie that pushes the world-weary detective stereotype to new, surreal levels. Joe Hallenbeck (Bruce Willis), is a shamus hired by his best friend to protect a stripper who is subsequently killed. her washed-up football playing boyfriend (Damon Wayans) hooks up with Joe to find out whodunit and why. Willis' performance and Black's screenplay combine to produce a portrait of a guy who is so down and out that our first glimpse of him is a shot of him passed out in his own car while being harassed by snotty neighbourhood kids. throughout the whole film, Willis delivers deadpanned one-liners while constantly getting the crap kicked out him. BOY SCOUT is a guilty pleasure. it is mindless, formulaic, and particularly hateful towards women (and men as well) in spots with an uncompromisingly un-PC attitude that is very unusual in this day and age... and very funny. action films don't get any nastier than this one.

Review: The best action movie of the 90's hands down! All this crap about the film being misogynistic is ridiculous. Willis' character is a burned out, embittered, down and out, has-been PI and former secret service agent ("a long time ago he saved the president's life" )who has seen too much and who has no faith left in anything. He is in a bad marriage, never home, drinks too much, a victim of marital infidelity. But he is still in love with his wife. ("I wish the sky wasn't blue, I wish water wasn't wet. I wish I didn't still love my wife.") He is a man's man of the old school; strong and ever silent with a black and white morality. He is loyal to a fault, taking on the case of the stripper and her boyfriend to avenge the car-bombing death of his best friend (who was sleeping with his wife.) His foul mouthed daughter is screaming for discipline which she finds (and drinks in ) at the end of the film. The one liners are great. The action scenes are awesome. The justice meted out in the end is fitting.
