Rating: Summary: Great special effects Review: Ignore the guy earlier that said the special effects were not good. The special effects rule. It was even nominated for an oscar for it. Obviousely the special effects are good then.
Rating: Summary: Muckraker! Review: This by far has to be Roger Moore's worst James Bond film. Obviously released at the height of the Star Wars craze, this movie is just plain sad. The special effects are laughable and the love scene between Jaws and the girl who looks like the Swiss Miss, is just so incredibly stupid that it's just embarrassing to watch. This is probably the worst adaption from Ian Flemings original novels since "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". If you want to see a decent Bond film with Roger Moore in it buy "Live and Let Die" or "The Man with the Golden Gun". Avoid this waste of celluloid like the plague. It's a shame they didn't wait 'til now to do "Moonraker'. With all the new advances in technology and special effects, they could probably do a smashing film. Unfortunately, we're stuck with this.
Rating: Summary: James Bond heads into outer space Review: James Bond once again returns in "Moonraker," one of the most succesfull Bond films in the series. I personally enjoy this movie because Bond has to save the world from extinction. Bond's enemy here is Hugo Drax, a person who wants to rebuild the world with a race of superhumans, which he has selected to re-inhabit the world. This is one of my personal favorites because it takes Bond and the Bond lead, Holly Goodhead, into space to stop Drax and his deadly plan. Bond uncovers what will happen in Venice, Italy, and in the beautiful location of Rio de Janiero. When Bond and Goodhead are in Rio, they find out where the products are heading, into space. In "Moonraker," it will be nice to see how MGM/UA specially enhanced this classic Bond DVD, since it was released when DVD was available to the market back in 1998. I love this movie very much, set apart from the fact that other people think that this is a cheesy "TSWLM" remake. I really don't think that "Moonraker" is that type of movie. I think that "Moonraker" is a movie where Bond has to protect the world from the human race becoming extinct. Bond has to go out into space to do that, because Drax sends his deadly probes from his space station orbiting the earth. I'm really looking forward to this movie coming out to DVD. I really enjoy watching this movie and am anxious to watch it on the widescreen 2.35:1 aspect ratio. It will be neat to learn more about the movie from the "Inside 'Moonraker'" documentary as well as the audio commentary tracks available on this Special Edition. I recommend this movie to all Bond fans who are looking to complete their DVD collection, such as myself. It's a good edition to your James Bond DVD collection.
Rating: Summary: the best james bond film Review: this movie was great...i espically liked when jaws appeared. moonraker is the best james bond movie and i totally recommened it to you. if you dont like it, your different.
Rating: Summary: cool Review: The space parts were corny, but take those out and you've got a great James Bond flick.
Rating: Summary: Quite Possibily the Best Bond Film Ever Produced Review: What an outstanding film! Sure the final scenes were pretty corny, but thats what sometimes makes movies good to watch. I found that this was a very well produced and well directed movie. Roger Moore isnt my favorite, but the movie was great! I recommend this movie to whoever enjoys action movies.
Rating: Summary: One of the best James Bond films of all time Review: This is Roger Moore's best 007 film, and one of the best in the series. It takes 007 into heart-pounding, non-stop action like getting thrown out of a plane without a parachute, experiencing near death in a G-FORCE simulator, a fist fight against Chang, Drax's right-hand man inside a clock tower in Venice, two dangerous boat chases, surviving a python underwater, almost getting burned by rocket fire, and a big showdown in Outer Space. This film has everything you expect in James Bond 007.
Rating: Summary: Moonraker Review: Roger Moore's fourth film,Moonraker, was not his best but still good. After the razzle dazzle The Spy who Loved Me comes outer space.Hugo Drax is a good villain.Jaws was okay but bringing him back was a mistake. The space scenes are good but the laser guns are weird for a Bond movie. The climax was pretty good. The other action is a great boat chase through Venice, a boat chase in Rio were OO7 dispatches his foes with a torpedoe, a fight in amuseum were Bond takes on Drax's henchmean who is armed with a large stick. The opening stunt scene is one of the best in the series along with GoldenEye's where OO7 jumps off a dam.Lois Chiles does a very good perfrmance as CIA agent Holly Goodhead. Some other good scenes are when Bond and Goodhead are in a cable car and Jaws snaps the rope and when Bond is in Drax's building and is next to a pond. When he steps on a rock, it launches him into a pond where he kills a vicious anaconda. An entertaining line is when Drax asks,"Why did you kill my pet python" and OO7 answers,"I discovered it had a crush on me".Shirley Bassey's title song was haunting and beautiful.Though not better than any of Moore's movies except The Man with the Golden Gun, it's still good.
Rating: Summary: Not bad, but not up to Bond standards. Review: I don't think this is as bad as people make it out to be. I mean, at least it doesn't have J. W. Pepper. It has great laser effects and Jaws is cool and they brought back the 007 theme from From Russia With Love (Not to be confused with the James Bond theme. One goes du du du du du du du du and the other goes du du du du du du du doo du. Remember that.) I loved the laser war at the end. Anyway, if you like sci-fi or 007 or action, the you should check this movie out.
Rating: Summary: Moonraker Review: The fourth entry in Roger Moore's movies was certainly not his best but was ok none the less. Bringing back the character Jaws was a mistake however, even though he was excellent in the Spy Who Loved Me. Michael Lonsdale makes a decent adversiry for 007. The space scenes were fairly good, but the action on Earth was much better such as the boat chase in Venice and the fight in the museum. This movie was a galaxy away from the Sean Connery exploits of the 1960s. This one was good but if you want better performances by Roger Moore check out For Your Eyes Only, A View To a Kill, and The Spy Who Loved Me.
