Rating: Summary: bizaare movie Review: This film never really knows where its going and to be honest it is a pretty terrible movie, although it is slightly saved by two good performances from Cameron Diaz and Ewan McGregor.
Rating: Summary: Love it! Review: This movie was highly enjoyable. Why it was trashed by the critics is anyone's guess. I am so glad I ignored all the bad reviews, cause this is a great movie that I completely fell in love with.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: This is a funny and cool romance! Nice directing
Rating: Summary: A turbulent ride with love on the run! Review: This is the most swoon-able movie I have ever seen! Yes, that's right, I've made up a word: swoon-able. Normal words cannot describe my reaction to this movie which combines vivid imagery, interesting symbolism, romanticism, nihilism, and ultimately, optimism. And the average joe wins out in the end! It's perfect. It doesn't hurt that the average joe is Ewan McGregor, either. I love the theme of destiny -- it adds a big chunk of hope to the bleak, materialistic world portrayed in the beginning. My parents thought it was a silly, strange movie, but I think it possesses a clever buoyancy not found in other movies. It's like one of those people that always winks at you and then does something completely outrageous. Well, I'm not very articulate, but I must say that if you're not a complete stone-cold bore and you find the idea of robbing banks with a cute Scot strangely exciting, this movie is for you.
Rating: Summary: Refreshing... every single time! Review: This movie is a romantic comedy and it isn't, at least not, thank goodness, in the genre of all of these half hearted ones in the theater lately, where a plot that should last about ten minutes is stretched out with honestly funny one-liners and quips that make the heart of a mostly unmemorable film. But THIS! It's funny and it's romantic and it's just weird enough to keep you from being grounded. I fell for just about all the characters, and going back and seeing the movie again is like going back to an old favorite book, where the fact that it's familiar just makes the whole thing better.
Rating: Summary: I love, love, love this movie Review: Brilliant! This movie has got to be one of my absolute favorites. The outrageous situtations Ewan's character get himself into!!! I think I wet myself during the telephone booth scene. Holly Hunter! Ohmigod! Who knew she could be so funny!?! Not since Raising Arizona has she been so good. This is a great movie not to be missed especially by a Ewan McGregor, Cameron Diaz or Holly Hunter fan! I wish there were extras on the disc, but oh well, I loved it!
Rating: Summary: Great movie Review: This is not the greatest movie ever made, but I enjoyed it very much and bought a copy. I watch it once a month...okay, every three weeks. If you are in the mood to be swept away by a directors style, great music and even a dance number, this is for you! The cast is great, especially Diaz and Ewan MacGregor.
Rating: Summary: A great movie to watch when you have the flu. Review: Cameron Diaz and Ewan McGregor are star-crossed lovebirds on the lam in this twisted romantic comedy from the creatores of "Trianspotting". Celine(Diaz)is a spoiled, rich young woma whose worst nightmare is having her credit card rejected. Robert(McGregor) is a hapless janitor whose greatest dream is to write the Great American Trash Novel. They have nothing in common-except the burning desire to live "a life less ordinary." When Celine is kidnapped by the inept Robert, a pair of celetial cops are dispatched to earth to make sure that they live that "life less ordinary." together. Co-staring Holly hunter and Delroy Lindo, this irresistable romantic comedy is proof that love overcomes all.
Rating: Summary: I love this movie Review: This is now one of my favorite movies. There are many priceless scenes, none better than the one in the telephone booth. I cried at the end!! It was beautiful!!
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite movies Review: This is one very good movie. Usually I don't go for romantic comedy type movies, but this hooked me when I saw it at a friends house...so I bought it. Cameron Diaz is...beautiful, but Ewan McGregor did some great acting in this! Delroy Lindo was great, while HOlly Hunter was...odd. I honestly can't make up my mind if her performance was brilliant or horrible...it was just weird (but she looked amazing...). Great story, had an element of unpredictibility, and a great soundtrack too! My fave scene is the sequence where Diaz runs into the forest saving Ewan right before he's shot...very well done scene as is the movie! Buy it!
