Summary: Battle
Review: I'm a Highlander fan -- movies and series. Also, I love swordfighting and jousting, and I LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS! This movie was a fairy tale fantasy about true merit, true love, and true friendship overcoming anything and everything! To me, it was very enjoyable entertainment. It got me out to a movie for the first time since "The Patriot". I definitely want the VHS (DVD) when available. Incidentally, "Chaucer" was delightful! However, he did not speak in Middle English. I learned Middle English so I could read the Canterbury Tales in original form. For this film, Middle English was not necessary and not missed. The movie was fun to see and left me with a good feeling as I left the theatre. I wish more movies were like that! -- Dr. Ruluff D. McIntyre, Sir Baron of the Baronial Order of Magna Charta

Summary: Great!
Review: This movie was a great blend of medevil and 20th century. I thought the music went great with the theme of the movie. I recommend this to anyone who has an open mind about movies. Those people who don't like mixing times shouldn't see it, but I still think it's great!!

Summary: Good: Of course not! Fun: Heck yes!
Review: This movie is a ball. Heath Ledger was charming as the lead, and the cast generally had excellent chemistry. The references to Pro Wrasslin' and the arena-rock soundtrack helped the movie achieve its goal: To be fun, engaging, entertaining eye candy.

On a tangent....

I'm always irritated when people review "period" movies, and point out all the myriad historical inaccuracies. But attacking the "arena-rock" soundtrack to A Knight's Tale as anachronistic is patently ridiculous. If anyone attempts to tell you with a straight face that it detracted from the movie, say this: "Would an orchestral soundtrack, written by a 21st century composer, have been any _more_ accurate?" The answer: Of course it wouldn't! It would, in the end, be just as anachronistic--we just wouldn't recognize it as such, because we've been trained to associate modern string music and modern English accents (regardless of the geographical or temporal location of the piece) with historical accuracy. In my opinion, the jarringly inaccurate nature of the soundtrack helped send the perfect message: "Relax, have fun, and headbang a little, people! We're out to have a good time, not teach history!"

Do you ever hear these complainers talk about how Prince Edward died a few years before Chaucer's birth? How about the incredibly important fact that both Chaucer and the entire House of Plantagenet were LONG dead before "jousting" even became as popular and formalized an event is it is portrayed? No, because that would require some _real_ knowledge of history, and the bulk of the people who complain about historical inaccuracies in films in which it is patently clear that historical accuracy is not a goal, are just trying to look smart and informed...they're not _actually_ smart and informed. I've got news for said people: If you're reviewing A Knight's Tale as if either A) it were _trying_ to be historically accurate, or B) you were expecting accuracy, you don't look smart. You look either stupid, or pedantic. I tend to think the former.

Summary: A New Favorite!
Review: A Knight's Tale is filled comedy, action, and even a bit of romance! It has it all! It is filled with dazzling sets, authentic-looking costumes, and the script is wonderful! I think that everyone should see this movie. I saw it three times in two days!

Summary: Save Your Money
Review: This movie ranks right next to Red Tomahawck as one of the worst movie I have seen. The acting is not bad but the story was as cliche ridden as the fifth sequeal to a Rocky movie. You see better stories in old Tarzan movie's. How many time's can you watch a knight get struck while riding a horse. Heath Ledger is the Babe Ruth of knight's. There are no odd's he cannot overcome and man those he overcome the odd's. Superman better watch out. Now if Sylvester Stallone was a knight then you would have a contest. Give your money to a charity or pay off an old debt and avoid this rubbish.

Summary: I already knew this movie was AMAZING before i watched it
Review: Starring Heath Ledger, Mark Addy, and the director? the one and only Brian Helgeland! Why didnt i give this movie a 5/5 stars? Well, the action, romance, and comedy was all balanced, but one thing i dont think many people like about this movie, the language!

thy, thou, etc.etc. u get wat i mean, that is wat people dont understand sometimes and they also use many complicated words from the Medieval Time, that is another hard thing to understand in that movie. ive said what the bad things are, now, to the good things!

The lancing tournaments are just dazzling, and the comic relief is common, its just very well balanced! And you would probably be on the floor laughing or even crying from listening to the comedy and watching the romance!

o yeh, i forgot to tell u wat this movie is actually about :P.

its basically about a young poor boy who becomes a knight, and soon meets the queen while fighting another knight, and u no the rest, just like the normal Medieval time stories, but if u dont know, too bad :p, dont want to spoil it for u :P!

Summary: You can nap !
Review: This has to be one of the worst movies of the year. It's in a no man's land between Monty Pythonesque humor and Gladiator-type drama but it doesn't pull off either. This plot is so predictable that I fell asleep several times but each time I woke up, I could pick up the story without feeling like I missed anything. Near the end, the hero (Heath Ledger) has a lance planted in his shoulder almost all the way through, but beyond the 3 subsequent minutes when he pretends to grimace, he carries on as if nothing happened to him.

Summary: More of a teen-age flick
Review: I thought this was a pretty good movie. But they modernized it too much for my taste. I would recomend this to the teen-agers more than anyone. But it's still worth a look if your in the mood for a pretty good movie.....

Summary: I LOVED THIS MOVIE
Review: I loved it beyond all comparison. I'm a large movie person, and I know my stuff. This movie was a mixture of hard action, romance, hot men, and a great soundtrack! I think everyone should see this movie, and forget what the critics say. You know what you like. And I think you'll definitly love this movie.
