Summary: Don't miss this one
Review: I highly recommend seeing this movie. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this movie at first and I delayed seeing it. After I finally saw it, I wanted to turn right around and see it again. This is a must see movie. Do yourself a favor and go see this movie. You will not be disappointed.

Summary: Incredible movie.. Worth every cent!
Review: I highly recommend that you see this movie. It truly brought the book to life, and what I imagined the characters and settings to be like. The acting is amazing, especially the hobbits. Lord of the Rings has some of the most awesome action scenes and edge-of-your-seat scenes I've ever seen. There were several parts where I remember the audience oooohing and ahhhhing loudly. :) Go see Lord of the Rings today!!

Summary: Cutting some of those scenes was a sin!
Review: I highly recommend this edition of Lord of the Rings to anyone who enjoys moviemaking at its best. Peter Jackson has created a masterpiece, which will be revered for generations to come much the same as Star Wars.

Why the extended edition? Anyone who hasn't read The Hobbit or the Fellowship should get the extended edition. Woven into the movie are many deleted scenes which provide more background to the plot, helping the viewer to understand the movie to a greater degree. One of the many deleted scenes, "Concerning Hobbits," provides an especially important background of the main characters. This was cut for time limits by the studio -- a grave error. At least we can watch it in this edition.

The "play-by-play" commentary is, well, cool. One can choose between actors, producers, special effects supervisors, and writers and listen to their takes on the movie and the filmmaking process. VERY INTERESTING.

Also, the two extra discs of documentary are superb. Anyone interested in moviemaking, specifically special effects, will be in for a treat with more than four hours of footage and commentary on the two DVDs.

Summary: Pretty Good!
Review: I honestly have no idea as to why everybody hails this movie as a masterpiece. I think its a good movie but not as good as all the hype makes it up to be. Anyway I like the action sequences and other stuff but one downside is it's WAY too long! It does have its good points to it. It's very emotional like when Sean Beans character dies I cried and I was sad when I thought Sam was dead. But anyway its pretty good but in my opinion not great.

Summary: Holy .....
Review: I ignored this film for a year. I just was never a fan of the saga of middle-earth. And, even now, I probably won't be reading the books anytime soon. But DANG!

This was an awesome spectacle and a beautiful film. The characters were well drawn and the action nearly non-stop. Was it faithful to the book? I don't know and sure don't care. It was a fine picture, the best fantasy epic I've ever seen.

Harry Potter needs to go home. This is real fantasy, not the flavor of the month.

Even if you don't like fantasy films, see this picture.

Summary: Simply Astounding
Review: I initially had reservations about seeing this film. Most current Hollywood product is overproduced, overhyped, and marginally entertaining. Besides, I was never a big Tolkien fan. So it was a pleasant surprise to discover a film that was long but never overlong, and one that was both inventive and emotionally involving from start to finish. This expanded edition not only does justice to the film, but actually provides a richer, more involving experience than the original version. The additional 30 minutes of deleted scenes expands the characters' relationships and explains some of the more obtuse Middle Earth references. In addition, the added features are plentiful and intriguing without pandering to product mongering (there's scarcely a reference to "The Two Towers"). The numerous documentaries about the making of the film are like an education in filmmaking itself, and the generous background information on the works of Tolkien is a delicious bonus. Most of all, this is a sumptuously packaged DVD that deserves to be a part of every movie lover's collection. I was simply astounded with all of the special material: dozens of documentaries, three commentaries, thousands of production stills and drawings, extended scenes incorporated into the film, and some of the handsomest packaging ever to grace a DVD release. One could literally spend a weekend discovering all of the exciting goodies within. So...got a free weekend anyone?

Summary: The Trilogy comes to Life.
Review: I just couldn't believe my eyes. Tolkien's, "Lord of the Rings"
actually comes to life with the scenic New Zealand settings, with the characters lifted from the pages, the mystery of the power of the ring, the mission, the fellowship, the battles, the gore, the evil, the brotherhood, the chivalry. You could almost feel the darkness of Mordor creeping all around you as you sat absorbed into the story. I just left the theater and cannot wait to see it again.

Summary: way too long
Review: I just do not get it, why people like this movie so much. It is way way way too long, I mean come on people. People give this movie too much money and way too much credit. I was dragged to see this with my family. To anyone reading this, do not see this movie.

Summary: NEVER WATCH THE ORIGINAL AGAIN!
Review: I just finished watching the extended version and it was like watching a whole new film! In every way, this version is superior. The thirty extra minutes are not wasted. The characters are fleshed out, the battles seem more desparate and the agony of the journey both to Rivendale and beyond is made plain. I urge anyone who hasn't already purchased the theater version to skip it and get the extended one instead. Anyone who already has the theater version.....well this one is definately worth forking out the extra dough to get.

Summary: Wow! What an awesome movie! One of the best movies ever!!!!
Review: I just finished watching this movie, and it is just as exciting the sixth time. Really! This movie just DOES NOT get boring. And that's a good thing. So I saw it five times in theatres and now once at home on the DVD. Wow! This movie just rocks sooo much! It is a great adventure movie, and also a movie that deals with different and really cool characters. I can't say how this movie is compared to the book. I haven't read the book, but I totally want to. You don't have to have read the book to enjoy the movie totally, though. No matter what, this movie is very interesting. Even after almost three hours, it's still interesting. Yeah, it's waaaaaaaaay long, but who cares??? It's cool. That's what matters. This is one of the best movies I've seen. Even if you're not a Lord of the Rings fan, this movie will totally make you one. So I finish my review by saying that I totally reccomend this movie. For anyone. See it. It's awesome. And, I can't wait for the second movie. Only four more months.........
