Rating: Summary: Loved it Review: I absolutely loved this movie. Great board action..Nia's debut film.. Best Photography ever in a surfing film.
Rating: Summary: Genius Review: To those of us who understand, the Shore is simply the most important cult film ever made. It teaches us about life in a way the Karate Kid never could. Following your dreams ("Mom, Lance Burkhardt makes over $100,000 a year, if that's not a career, I don't know what is"), timing with the ladies (Rick puts the moves on Kiani far, far to soon, to disastrous results), having fun ("Alex, get up and dance with 'er"), sticking by your boys ("friends on the North Shore treat each other more betta") and the sweet nostalgia of lost love ("eh, I got this girl for you, so hot!" "Turtle, my plane's about to leave." "eh, try look!"). The makers of the film knew to add endless little inconsistent moments which will provide seekers of Shore knowledge a lifetime of discovery. Incredible.
Rating: Summary: Great entertainment for surfers or surfer wannabees Review: I grew up watching this movie. I love it. The surfing is great. I'd have to recommend it to anybody who enjoys the sport of surfing. "Beat in howly buddy this is our wave!!" There are a lot of great one-liners too!
Rating: Summary: The bible Review: "You took his stuff, you pound him." This classic line spoken by Vince Mohaloka(Gerry Lopez), alone should have sealed an Oscar nomination, but mainstream society just does not comprehend the complexity of his character. This work of art is truely the bible to all surfers. After I watch this movie I have enough stoke to paddle out through anything.
Rating: Summary: Go Ahead...Go Shread! Review: THis is one of my all time favorite movies despite its inconsistancies (e.g. one minute the guy is riding facing the wave then later on that same wave he's riding backing the waves) and its improbabilities(e.g. from wave tank to Waimea in one season...YEAH RIGHT!). Turtle makes this movie. Iwould REALLY like for it ro be released on DVD since the surf in the movie is KILLER!
Rating: Summary: Surf,Sun and Sand!! Review: I'm not really a surfer, but there is no doubt in my mind that this movie tells every surfer's dream. I can appreciate this film and the awesome Hawaiian backdrop that it is set in. From Rick Kane's start in wave tank in Arizona, to his adventures around the North Shore of Ouahu, this trip is one in a million. I encourage anyone who enjoys the thrill of the ocean to partake in this incredible wave sliding film. Filled with great characters, surfing footage, and beautiful women, North Shore shows it is the ultimate in Surfing movies!!
Rating: Summary: This mans dream Review: The movie takes me there where I want to go. That is what movies are for.The surf, the babe ,the party. 2nd. only to POINT BREAK. Both great surfing movies Nia peeples is awsome.Total babe. 2 Thumbs UP.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie! Review: Great Movie & Killer Waves! Check it out
Rating: Summary: best surf movie ever! Review: This is one of the best surf movies ever! It has a great plot, superb acting, and the dialogue is amazing. Not to mention the great surfing and surfers. I just wish there was a sequel.Everyone should watch this movie then go learn how to surf. Just watch out for the reefs, because they can cause "heavy scar for sure, scar for life kook." The only problem is that this movie makes Laird Hamilton look like an idiot, but I guess that is just good acting. Well get this movie and have fun, Barno.
Rating: Summary: Friends treat each other mo-betta on da North Shore. Review: Good movie. Predictable, but fun. It has most of the variables in the good-movie formula; location, location, girls, and bitchin' waves.
