Summary: I can't wait for the DVD
Review: I have been waiting for this title to be released in DVD format. After owning the Sinbad Collection and Jason and the Argonauts this is the movie I need to wrap up my collection.

Just the scene of the medusa is worth the whole movie. This is great entertainment for children and for those who grew up watching these movies. For some reason I prefer special effects made with dynamation than the heartless ones made by computers nowadays.

Summary: Needs to be touched up a bit
Review: I know some might find it upsetting, but this film would look better if the effects were reshot, this film's effects are dated big time, why it didn't have better effects to begin with is a mystery to me, films like STAR WARS,EMPIRE STRIKES BACK,ALIEN,SUPERMAN,FLASH GORDON,BATTLESTAR GALACTICA,& RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK came before it and had superb special effects, maybe MGM did not want to spend the money, but it would have played out better i think, As a kid i liked it, as an adult it is hard to say, it has a mythical story about ancient Greece & is interesting to watch the story unfold, everyone is cast perfectly, but the effects really should be polished, that is my only problem with this film, if you want good storytelling, its a winner, if you want superb special effects, you will be disappointed big time.

Summary: Clash of the Titans
Review: One of the best movies ever made. It made a star of Harry Hamlin. The movie has some of the best special effects, for back then. I can highly recommend this movie to any fan that are into fantasy type movies.

Summary: Stands as the Greatest of the Greek Myth Films
Review: With Jason And the Argonauts(special effects also by Harryhausen), Clash of the Titans stands as the greatest film version of Greek mythology. As great as this film is visually and story-wise, there are many inaccuracies. I.E. Pegasus sprung from the blood of the slain Medusa, the Pegasus story here; that he was the last of Zeu's winged horses is not true. Calabos does not appear in any of the Greek legends and is therefore an invention of the film's director(though a very well-made lie, Calabos is sure to scare you, horns and hooves!) the Kraken was never a mythological figure and finally we see Cerebrus, the dog guarding the Underworld, with two heads when it is supposed to have three. But such faults can be overlooked. Harryhausend truly outdid himself in the glorious creations and special effects in the film, including a golden robotic owl sounding much like Star Wars' R2D2. The music is provided by the London Symphony Orchestra and great performances delivered by Harry Hamlin(Perseus), Maggie Smith(Thetis) Claire Bloom (Hera) and the talented Laurence Olivier as Zeus. Visually stunning, it is a film you must own, right up there with great fantasy films.

Summary: One of the BEST Mythological Movies Ever Made
Review: This is one of the few movies I watched as a child that stayed with me into adulthood. In my opinion, if a movie can bring about a feeling of great imagination, interesting plot twists, AND teach you about the history of a culture's basis then you have a movie of great proportions. To me Clash of the Titans brought about all of this. Mythology and Greece have always been a large facination for me, and to see many of the Greek myths fleshed out on the big screen was a true piece of magic. Movie buffs will be pleased to see many Hollywood actors in this gem as well. From Laurence Olivier and Harry Hamlin, to Maggie Smith and Burgess Meredith. Considering the time in which the movie was made, the special effects were outstanding as well. Even the imaginary characters of Medusa, Cerberus, Pegasus, Calibos, and the Crikon stand out and bring quite a bit of humanism to a very fictional film. I highly recommend this film to anyone with imagination and lots of heart.

Summary: Kinda fun, but very dated
Review: I bought this mainly because I remembered seeing it as a child and kinda wanted to see it again. I guess you can't go home again. The plot of the movie still holds up OK, but the special effects seem extremely dated by today's standards. They were probably above average for the early 80s.

The movie is a "coming of age" story of Perseus. The movie starts with his mother Danae and the infant Perseus being exiled by the king. Zeus is upset and destroys the kingdom. Perseus is tested in lots of ways and ends up marrying the beautiful woman (of course).

Acting is above average at times, below average at times. But it's still fun to watch once in a while. Another greek myth that is pretty well done is the modern (2000) Jason and the Argonauts that was on NBC by Hallmark entertainment. It's better overall and the central theme of that movie is clearer and cleaner. The DVD also has some nice extras on it.

Summary: le choc des titans
Review: This IS a great movie. I almost know Clash of the titans by heart and everytime i see it i enjoy it a lot. As it was the first movie my parents ever videotaped( with our very first video recording machine!), i've watched it many times and almost grew up with it. My favorite is and will always be the little clockwork owl making this funny little noise and turning its head around! anyway, enjoy yourself, this is an all-stars movie, and don't forget the popcorn!

Summary: Fascinating Special Effects
Review: I saw this movie when I was 5 years old and as a child was fascinated with the special effects and until today it is my favorite fantasy-adventure movie. The story is romantic and Andromeda(Judi Bowker) and Perseus (Harry Hamlin) are wonderful as lovers. The special effects are unique and it's all tied to the Greek mythology. Medusa's head of snakes, the sea monster, scorpions, vultures, statues that talk, sea monsters, etc. I always wondered how the special effects back in the early 80's were so good and so realistic and today with all the technology I don't see movies that are as well done. The movie is a great romance and the story is well written and I learned alot about Greek mythology from it.
