Summary: Amazon.com's Editorial Review has a mistake in it...
Review: I haven't seen this flick, so I have no opinion on it. I just wanted to point out that Sean Bean HAS been in a major film. He played Boromir in Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Summary: A great, enjoyable movie...
Review: I liked this movie a lot.... I have read the book and have heard the many stories, but till recently never saw the movie. This movie is great and gives you a more in-depth insight to the world's finest (one of) crack regiment in the world.

What makes me more than just a movie, is that fact that it is based on a true story of "bravo two zero" and shows both the heroism and courage these operators faced. Also it gives you another side and aspect of war, being a POW.

I also saw "the one that got away" but i didn't really care for it much because it is written by another fellow and seems to be one-sided towards his views and actions. I felt in ways he disrespected his fellow mates and made himself to be glorified.

In any case I found "Bravo Two Zero" to be really enjoyable, and gave you great visuals to go along with the famous operation. It was nice to see how SAS operators play out their tasks and how they react to certain situations.

As for realism its pretty close in many aspects because Andy McNabb, was actually a part of Bravo Two Zero in Iraq and was the lead technical contact and helped with the direction of the movie. And if you know anything about McNabb, well his is no joke! I highly recommend this movie to other special operations nuts... beats most that is in the market....

Summary: Made for TV is no excuse...
Review: I remember seeing this movie a few years back when I was a teenager, I hadn't read much about the SAS or other elite forces around the world and was quite impressed by the story the movie had to tell. A few years later I started to gain an interest in reading and came across Bravo Two Zero the book by Andy Mcnab, I soon followed that with Chris Ryan's 'The one that got away' and various other books written by ex SAS troopers.

The resemblance the movie has with regard to the book is all superficial; there are obvious flaws in the movie (at one point it shows Chris Ryan walking down an Iraqi highway during daytime talking to himself).

Its obvious that the film was made with a seriously low budget, it shows dramatically in the sound quality, the dubbing is awful and in some points the actors speak and the words don't come for several seconds, the relationship between sounds and events on screen are sometimes many seconds apart.

But if you look past the movies short comings its still a representation of the tale of heroism and survival in extreme circumstances that gives Brits worldwide a warm feeling inside that while we have these boys on our side we'll always have something to be proud of.

I like this movie but I can only give it 2 Stars, it has to many faults to get anymore, but if your sentimental towards all things SAS, go for it.

Summary: Bravo Two Zero
Review: If you are looking for one of those Hollywood cliches and extravaganzas war films. You should look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a real story then you should watch this fine film.

Based on a true story this film is basically about an eight man patrol from Bravo Squadron of the 22nd SAS regiment. Their call sign is Bravo Two Zero, there objective is to locate and destroy mobile scuds. But things go terribly wrong in the very beginning of the mission. I won't tell you what happens next because it will give away alot of thrills.

But do watch this film and read the book (which has the same name) the book is much better.

Enjoy

Summary: Great!!!!!!!!!!
Review: If you aren't moved by this film your veins must be filled with ice. And to the guy who wrote the main review, Sean Bean starred in the Tom Clancy epic "Patriot Games" with Harrison Ford not to mention "Lord of the Rings". Those qualify as major motion pictures don't they?

Summary: Great Commando Movie Based On True Story!
Review: If you like spec ops stories and movies you should like this movie. It is based on a true story of a squad of 8 SAS soldiers during the Gulf War. I really enjoyed the movie, it has lots of action, pretty good acting, and decent special effects. The quality of the action scenes is slightly below the level of the Navy Seals movie. The battles scenes are of decent quality however, meaning a lot better than those shown in cheesy documentaries. If you like this genre of movie, you will enjoy the movie.

Review: If you want an argument against the Michael Moore types who are holwing about the Abu Garaib fiasco, this is it. It is a good military adventure to boot!! Check it out.

Summary: Rather disappointing
Review: It's hard to believe that they could make something as fundamentally interesting as the SAS's Bravo Two Zero raid so dull.
The basic facts are well-known - that Andy McNab's team were dropped behind Iraqi lines in the Gulf War to find and destroy the Scud missiles being fired at Israel, the mission went wrong almost immediately and they had to fight their way to freedom. They failed and were imprisoned but became the most decorated patrol in SAS history.
With such background and a charismatic lead in the hard as nails Sean Bean you have to ask where it all went wrong. It's just poorly scripted, badly acted, confusing and a real mess. Chris Ryan's story - filmed as The One That Got Away - was a considerably better effort.
