Summary: Stunning visuals, but a forgettable plot
Review: If all you are after are some great SFX, some tough-guy action scenes, and a gorgeous Pontiac GTO, then by all means, buy it - this is the movie for you.

If not, well, stay away.

The reason it gets 3 stars from me is that there were plenty of opportunities to make this movie a real winner. But like the Scorpion King for The Rock, the producers relied a bit too much on the up-and-coming-replacement-for-Arnold status of Vin Diesel to make this a hit.

Several story development lines fell flat - Vin was like every other typical hero, even though he was presented as a "bad guy". Give him a tux, and he could have been James Bond.

IMHO, they should have taken his baddie act further, and tried to distance himself more from James Bond - if not in effect, then at least in character development and through his actions.

If there is ever a third installment of this - it will be because Hollywood throws us more of a bone in the sequel: a believeable main character whose motivations and actions make sense.

Summary: PARTY HARD!!!
Review: This movie is so extreme! It's so extreme it has to have 3 x's in it's title!! That's how extreme it is! Oh yeah, plus the opening scene has Rammstein blowing fire!!! HOW EXTREME IS THAT YOU ASK?!?!? REALLY EXTREME!!!!

Anyway, Vin is a highly entertaining individual and this movie is recommended for massive amounts of extreme fun!!!!!YES!

Summary: .....................Yuck
Review: I remember when this came out and it was all over the place. More often then not when you see a film being pushed as much as this one was you know it is no good. Fortunatly I was wise enough not to see it in the theater and when seeing it listed on a tuesday night with nothing else to do I decided to watch it. From start to the end....(well close to the end cuz I turned it off after about an hour and a half) the movie was filled with idiotic plot/action scenes that only a child or fool could enjoy. I don't think it is fair to single out just a few examples of why the plot in this movie was so stupid because I wouldn't even know where to begin. It would be one thing if any of the actors/characters were enjoyable but they aren't. Vin duschbag or whatever his name is has got to be one of the worst actors working in Hollywood. I would give a part to the dude that plays stiffler from those pie screwing movies before I would give one to this guy. You know a movie is bad when you can't stand watching the whole thing if you've never seen it before and it is on television for free.

Summary: Mindless Action....But Fun
Review: I can't say that I loved or hated "xXx", it had it's high points and it's low points. There were a ton of little things I didn't like about the film, just tiny little things that I would have liked changed. Other than those little things, the movie was pretty decent, for the most part.

The action and stunts in this movie is most definitely an overdose, I couldn't believe how much flashy stuff was in this film. If you like to see stuff get blown up then you'll surely like this movie.

The only major complaint about the movie that I have is the scene where he's in Columbia (or where ever he is) and is riding around on that motorcycle. He was just flying all over the place with that thing, and no ramps or anything in sight. That scene kind of bugged me, but it was over fairly soon and the movie went on.

As for the story, it was nothing terribly complicated, pretty much your typical bad-guy-wants-to-create-chaos-and-good-guy-has-to-stop-him sort of story . Lots of cookie-cutter bad guys and what not, but it's all in good fun.

In the film's defense though, there were a lot of cool things to see. Some of the stunts were just phenomenal and a few scenes in particular that just made me grin like an idiot because I liked it so much. Also, seeing Rammstein in the film was a pleasant surprise. AWESOME music (I kind of wish they'd have used a different song in the film though)!!!

As for the actors, they all pretty much did an ok job. Vin Diesel was just what you'd expect, although he did have some pretty bad dialogue in the film. I'm really shocked that Samuel L. Jackson agreed to do this film, but hey, that's just fine with me. I thought he did an ok job, nothing extraordinary, but good enough for me. The rest of the cast was good, nothing to complain about.

One other thing I'd really like to mention is that the trailers gave away WAY TOO MUCH!!!! I didn't see a whole lot of television commercials, but I did see the trailers in the theaters, and they gave away just about every cool scene. I was a little bummed, but I'm sure a few months from now I won't care.

This review is getting a bit longer than I had expected, so I'll wrap this up. I thought the movie was pretty good, not as good as Vin Diesel and director Rob Cohen's last film, "The Fast And The Furious", but still a fine movie. I've noticed a great deal of people comparing this film to the James Bond films (as is to be expected). I would definitely agree that this film is better than some of the older Bond films, but I wouldn't dare say that this one is better than the more recent Bond films. So, anyway, if you're into action movies with lots of explosions and some crazy stunts or just want to see Vin Diesel with his shirt off, then you'll definitely want to see this film. If you're looking for a movie with some real substance to it, this is not the film for you.

Summary: Bizarre and braindead
Review: THis movie is one of the dumbest that I have seen in a long time. It is completely lacking in sense or logic. THe beginning was cool becase of Rammstein, but it went downhill from there. Its fine for a movie to have attitude, but this was just too over the top. And the acting was pretty bad, too. No doubt that it is a showy film, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they like dumb action movies.
