Rating: Summary: MEGA TOP THIRD RATE MOVIE Review: It is certainly the worst movie I have ever seen in all my life. Vin Diesel (so good in "Saving Private Ryan" under the direction of Steven Spielberg) plays so bad in this third rate movie (under the direction of Robert Cohen). Vin Diesel looks so rigid with no facial expression and no acting. He is tatooed as a Christmas tree or a Casino fitted carpet (your choice !) and he simply looks ridiculous. When you consider the natural presence of Vin Diesel (when he is himself), what a pitty ! His clothes in this motion picture are certainly coming from a recycling clothes shop...The scenario is completely empty. No dialogs, no drama, no unexpected scenes ! Just a ton of "cliché" or "déjà vu" or "one thousand times seen" scenes. This movie is just a pretext for ridiculous stunts...I am waiting when the US movie industry will propose to us a competition between a motorbicyle and the space shuttle at launch !!! (Could be a nice stunt) Directing actors was an option in this movie (Director which can not be found. He was sunbathing in Bahamas certainly)...So why shoot scenes that we do not accept as possible... After few seconds of analysis, this movie is a pure "product" for the 13-16 male young people target. I can not consider such product as a motion picture which must propose a scenario, dialogs, drama, directing and an artistic point of view. This product is "only" a marketing commercially designed PG-13 product. If you want to see a MEGA TOP THIRD RATE MOVIE and laugh a lot concerning one of the "US movie industry" most terrible products, just watch this product. It is going to become a master reference !!!
Rating: Summary: A Better Movie Than Expected Review: I'm not much of a Vin Diesel fan, I liked him in Pitch Black and that's it before I watched this. Having said that I was quite surprised with how enjoyable this film was, as long as you don't try to think to hard during it. Your best bet is to turn off your brain. As the phrase goes "it has enough plot holes to drive a sequel throgu" (and you know they're going to do that). If you're looking for a good relax, blow ... up film then you have found it. No where near as good as the film series it tries desperately to emulate (James Bond), but on it's own merits XXX is a pretty decent film. The story goes that Xander Cage (Diesel) is an extreme sports nut, who considers himself untouchable, and is until he is busted by Samuel L Jackson. He is given a choice imprisonment or help the country. From there it just becomes one big action sequence with some of the funniest dialog I have ever heard: "Stop thinking Prague Police and start thinking PlayStation." The explosions are big, and gadgets are neat, and has actors for the guys (Asia Argento) and the girls (Diesel). I just have to mention the transfer, the video is beautifully done, and rarely suffers at all. The extras are almost second to none, packed with everything from deleted scenes to music videos to an intro for the GTO, it's quite hard to not waste time with the extras. To sum up: -Fun film (whether Diesel fan or not) -Excellent film transfer -Tons of enjoyable extras BUY THIS FILM!!!
Rating: Summary: Wants to be James Bond, but he isn't Review: As an action movie, it just isnt quite enough. It tries hard, pulling all the usual strings, but aside from the avalanche scene (which is worth seeing), the rest is pretty predictable and boring.
Rating: Summary: The best movie I ever seen Review: I give 5 stars to the movie XXX because it has alot of action and it has alot of action and its a good 2 hours long and if you like Vin Diesel than you will like it alot and I think the XXX series will become the next 007 because he is a daredevil plus he is a agent and James Bond is just a agent so I can't wait for the second movie that comes out 2004 of may when spiderman 2 comes out so they will face off at the box office so over nall it is a very good movie.
Rating: Summary: It was better than staring out the window on a plane. Review: I can only describe this film with the same word I would describe the Fast and the Furious as well - "cheese". I'm a tough guy- stunt man, social advocate, party guy, now turned spy. I've uncovered secret plans of an elite enemy organization in Prague - the government is going to wait around just long enough to act so I can do my thing and stretch the movie out a bit. OK - suspending my disbelief with this hyperbolic story, I was still amazed at the absolute lack of talent on the part of Vin Diesel. This guy is hired for the way he looks and his scratchy voice - but he can't act worth a darn and he doesn't even make a convincing tough-guy. Besides the extreme one-dimensionality of the characters, the dialogue is actually painful to listen to as well. Thank god there is a minimum of it. The pacing is aweful for an action film - there are huge slow spots where they try to cram some "plot in". Hint to the producers - have the writers killed. I gave it it's second star because the action was very interesting, and because I saw it on a plane and it kept my mind off teh flight for an hour and a half.
Rating: Summary: Likeable Cast, Lukewarm Movie Review: The cast is likeable, but the movie is lukewarm (at best). Vin Diesel comes across as a tough but likeable guy, somewhat like Steven Seagal. His acting is pretty good, too. However, the movie lacks in most other respects. Even the special effects look contrived (and some are rather poor) and expected. It was only borderline watchable, which surprised me because of some of the reviews I had read. One said that it "seems to be inspired by video games". I would agree. However, I would rather play a video game than watch a film inspired by them.
Rating: Summary: The Xander Zone Review: There is something inexplicably excellent about the blantant mediocrity of XXX. It kind of makes me proud to be an American. Nowhere else could a film like this get made, and then have everyone go see it. I mean this film is ABSURD! I bet they call the sequal "XXX 2: Hardcore." In any case... Vin Diesel is Xander Cage, a thrill seeking, extreme sports exhibitionist, with a political agenda. Samuel L. Jackson comes out of nowhere to recruit him for a secret mission because none of the N.S.A's guys are capable of pulling off the discrete assignment of flying through the air on motorcycles, out running avalanches, and delivering essential one-line banter with criminals. Of course, Cage accepts because his life will finally have a purpose. Actually, the mission is just an excuse for Vin to pull off the aforementioned action sequences. Now I'm all for throwing reality out the window when it comes to action flicks just as much as the next guy, but seriously, shouldn't there be a line drawn somewhere? Apparently the filmmakers of XXX thought no. So, I got a kick out of XXX, it's terrible, but it delivers the cheap thrill it promises and you have to respect that (I guess). Only in America.
Rating: Summary: A little waste of my time Review: I have to admit when I head that this movie was like a Bond film I went to rent it and after watching it I have say that dose have elements in that movie, but that is the only good thing about this flim. I have to admit his one-liners won't that funny and the music with the expection of the main theme song were bad, and didn't even fit the action scenes that they are being played with. Even the effects were also bad. The only good thing about this was the fact that I didn't go and see this movie is the theater to wast my money.
Rating: Summary: Low jack James Bond Review: Be warned, this is not in the same class as any of the James Bond series of films. Initially advertised as a new age, or hipper James Bond film, this one does not deliver. This was like K-mart James Bond with horrible dialogue, flat acting, and unbelievably bad stunt work. There wasn't a single stunt in this movie that impressed me, I was left thinking oh wow, I can't believe there was that many explosions and it still stunk. Even the gadgets were goofy and unbelievable. You know its bad when the gadget guy manages to outfit an old GTO with a warehouse full of gadgets in an afternoon and provide a thick hand drawn instuction guide with it! A total waste of time.
Rating: Summary: Unleaded Review: Probably one of the most pointless films with one of the most pointless stars of today....and the best thing is we can expect a sequel. Could someone please explain to me the appeal of Vin? I mean, he did show some promise in far superior films like Pitch Black and Saving Private Ryan but enough already.
