Rating: Summary: really 4.5 stars, but i'd rather give it 5 than 4 Review: a great indictment of a seemingly ubiquitous american pop culture media that glorifies and perpetuates human vice (namely violence). though the focused antagonist is the media, stone isn't too shy about pointing the finger at all of us as well; that we all maintain the "demon". the sybolism is over-catered and pretty thickly blatant (stone, as always, would have done well to use a subtler approach), but his point is no doubt driven home. and perhaps such a conspicuous rendering was intentional and serves more as a mirror of the overwhelming barrage and adornment of violence in this society (maybe not). anyway, watch this movie. hopefully someday it, and others like it, can be taught in schools and america can finally break free of its soul stomping capitalistic love of violence. i doubt it. and i doubt it. stone seems to suggest as the picture comes to a close that the "death" of media will be the death of violence. and though that serves well cinematically, philosophically the problem is deeper and much more ingrained in us (a mere less-than-fortunate-consequence of evolution). anyway and in any case, this is an achievement. visually and artistically.

Rating: Summary: What's all the fuss about? Review: I'm so glad I - or rather my Dad - got this DVD so cheap, otherwise I would have mighty disappointed. I wasn't particularly that fussed about watching it - I mentioned it, because one of the Tru Calling episodes was similar in a way. (I can't see HOW, my Dad pointed that out) And then my Dad ended up picking it up dirt cheap for me.
I lasted 46 minutes, before finally giving up.
I've seen worse films than this (Halloween, Last Broadcast, Lost Highway *cough*), and managed to last through them, but this film was bad. Worse than bad. Even worse than Lost Highway, and that's saying something! I lasted through that!!! I couldn't understand it, and it was severely disjointed, and made no sense to me whatever. I didn't like either Juliette or Woody Harrelson in this.
I don't know what I was expecting from this, but certainly not what I got. Is it even worth wasting my words on? Well, here's my review ... !
Rating: Summary: my favortie movie ever Review: watch, or don't watch it I could care less.
It's the best movie I have ever seen. With the greatest soundtrack I have ever heard. ( the Downward spiral and NIN.. are also my favorite album/band .. with out question)
I love even the tiny little details and even the cinimatic mess ups in this movie. ..
I grew up in oklahoma city when this movie came out, and it really captures this feeling or rage and contempt you get growing up surrounded by all those corrupt bible hugging freaks that in reality are the scum of the earth. They plague your life constantly with the Candy Coated hate-mongering and close minded view of life. Don't know if it was intended or just a part of the great choas of life, but this movie just really speaks to me. I really don't care if it speaks to anybody else anymore.
Rating: Summary: A so-so black comedy,Not for all tastes.2 and a half stars Review: When Oliver Stone gets down to work he can produce some amazing things, it shows with Natural Born Killers. This film has gained quite a reputation for being an influentially violent films, it apparently makes crime and murder look innocent and was therefore said to be responsible for a rise in crime - this even resulted in it being banned in the UK, until recent years where it has been developed into a director's cut and a cut version (although I think potential criminals would buy the ultraviolent copy.
Yet this copy actually does not glorify violence in any way, it merely tries to convey the media's obsession with it. Mickey and Mallory Knox are presented as two
hard-assed, lovey-dovey, stonecold serial killers. With acting talents such as Woody Harrellson and Juliette Lewis, with a brief appearence from Tommy Lee Jones, this film was destined for cult status and deserves it, from the pen of acclaimed director/writer Quentin Tarantino it is no wonder this film is so good and no wonder I love it so much - The only let down is that terrible reputation.
Rating: Summary: Trully Excellent Review: Can i just say this movie is excellent!!. Everybody thinks it just evolves around violence but their is the whole issue of the love relationship that Mickey and Malory have.yes it does glorify violence to a certain exsistant but it make good viewing,Also just one last thing i think the animation and real movie work well together as it draws imagination to your eyes of what the characters are like and how they interact within their environment.
This movie is well worth the watch and money EXCELLENT
Rating: Summary: *Get Your Kicks on Route 666!* Review: Oliver Stone is one of the greatest filmmakers of modern times, carrying with him an in-your-face style and revolutionary attitude towards the American landscape. This film encompasses most of Stone's fears, anxieties, and bitter commentaries on the state of America in our 'modern age'. This film was misunderstood by many, understandably as it paints a very lurid and menacing portrait of American family life as Mallory (played smolderingly by Juliette Lewis) is mistreated by her abusive father and ignored by her brainwashed mother. Into this picture walks the unstable and animalistic felon Mickey (a tour-de-force performance by Woody Harrelson, probably his best acting role to date). After a vengeful and liberating killing of Mallory's parents and a symbolic, snake ring marriage over an archetypal bridge, Mickey and Mallory become a Gen-X Bonnie and Clyde in their nonstop barrage of death and destruction down a lonely wasteland desert highway.
What gives the most food for thought in this film, however, is Stone's cynical and biting (and diabolically dark) satire of the Media's power and influence in the minds of the American public, as Mickey and Mallory become an almost deified, heroic couple whom 'audiences' everywhere are enamored by and fascinated with, teenagers especially, whose fixations on Mickey and Mallory are inspired by the materialist propaganda marketing by manipulative media hounds like Wayne Gale (played hilariously over-the-top by Robert Downey, Jr.) However, Stone does not stop there as he also deconstructs the prison system, law enforcement, and morality itself in the characters, such as fame-feeding, tyrannical warden Tommy Lee Jones or Tom Sizemore's portrayal of the equally sadistic and troubled detective, just as obsessed with the death and capture of Mickey and Mallory, as he is obsessed by their 'image'.
Incorporating a literal blitzkrieg of cinematographic techniques and camerawork (from handheld Super 8 to animation to garish, filtered-color psychedelia hallucinations to gritty, grainy black and white) and bookended by a microcosmic, stylized drive through America's past and present in the beginning of the film to a macrocosmic, philosophical, and ultimately bleak (yet strangely adrenaline rushing) ending: a montage of the 'future' marked by Leonard Cohen's urgent, plaintive song of the same title.
In the end, Natural Born Killers is one of the most unique (and some would say disturbing films) ever made, one of the few to truly touch on the issue of violence and human nature so unwaveringly since those such as A Clockwork Orange and Straw Dogs. Except this one goes one further, as it stares US in the eyes and asks us some piercing and burning questions that we may or may not want to answer about ourselves or the world we live in. Although Stone's paranoid outlook on life may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is presented undiluted in this (his most enigmatic and maverick of films) and Natural Born Killers is (whether one likes it or not), when all is said and done, an intensely visceral experience of the greatest kind.
Highly Recommended.
Rating: Summary: Killing spree mayhem!!! Review: i have watched this movie repeatedly and love it.the story is that theres these 2 people, mickey and mallorey knox.they were both abused as children very badly and fate brought them together.then they killed malloreys dad and mom,got married and went on a mass murdering rampage.woody harrelson is mickey.his last movie before this one was white men cant jump.he had to put on 80 pounds to play this part so hed look like a hard [case] instead of a chump.juliette lewis is my favorite actress.she plays mallorey knox.i heard that she did a video for melissa ethridge and she had to play like she was having a nervous breakdown.she was so convincing the directors stopped the tape to see if vshe was ok.theres also tommy lee jones as...........youll never guess...........an authority figure!hes the warden at the prison where they end up.theres tom sizemore who director oliver stone called his 5th leg as a hot shot cop gunning for mickey and hot for mallorey.who was the 4th leg?maybe rodney dangerfield who raped mallorey as a child.that we could have done without.oliver stone has his crowning achievment here.hed done the doors, apocalypse now and jfk previously.jfk totaly sucked.apocalypse now was alright.the doors was cool.but this is my favorite movie ever!on tape one theres the movie with like an hour of new footage put back in.some of the scenes include malloreys longer fight in the bar,a reporter getting a hole shot through his hand,a far more brutal riot in the prison, woody raping a hostage,a longer rodney king style beating of mickey,a longer fight between mallorey and tom sizemore in jail, mickey breaking all of a cops fingers at once and the warden being beheaded and made into a trophy.[to name a few].the second tape is full of interviews and scenes that werent cut so much as they didnt fit into the movie.theres a longer talk with the psyciatrist about them, the trial,a longer desert scene,an alternate ending where the bad guys lose,a special guest appearance by dennis leary and a extended mushroom-rattlesnake scene.love and a .45 came out about the same time but its not as good.it is good though.road killers also had the same basic idea.it was ok at best.theres something for almost everybody.theres a woman who kicks butt for the fems, action, violence, romance, poetry, vivid pictures, nudity, sex, humor, cool cars, hot babes, cop killing, artistic parts, showdowns, old sitcom style scenes, western type scenes and all kinds of other cool stuff.the only part that wasnt good was when rodney dangerfield was after his daughters booty.the scene is unforgivable but passes quickly.the idiot gets brutaly murdered a few moments later too.the person who really needs to be brutaly murdered in a movie so seldom ever gets it. [...] i think the marriage part is the best marriage part in motion pictures history.there are 2 people who knew they were in love from the moment they meant like all true love is.shes beautiful.it doesnt matter that theyre just in thier street clothes or that theyre along side the new river gorge.all that matters to them is that theyre there together.the background song is very pretty too.however, its not on the soundtrack.thats crappy.however,it on the cowboy junkies album"black eyed man" and its called "if you were the woman and i was the man".its not what it sounds like and is a very romantic song.then they make it official by making a very painful blood oath.oh yeah!right before he proposes he throws all thier old stuff into the gorge and says"the past is behind us now.we got the road to hell in front of us.............................................dramatic pause.........................mal,will you marry me"...........what a set up line!it was released in 1994.10 years later its stil my favorite movie.the chick in this movie is mallorey.shes abselutely heavenly.she has a pretty smile.she looks even better with her long blonde wig and trashy skirts on.mickeys rape victim is kinda sexy too,but its hard to see because shes all tied up and gagged for a lot of it.tom sizemores character is a real pain in the butt.hes just nasty.he sniffs malloreys panties, wears bikini style underwear when he strangles a hooker and even cuts mallorey very badly to get mickey to surrender.tommy lee jones is a mouthy idiot who needs some down time.theyre both very obnoxious.theres a book out there somewhere that this was adapted from.i forget what its called but its in the credits.the soundtrack has music for everybody with patsy cline, bob dylan, nine inch nails, leonard cohen, rap and even muslim chanting!mallorey knox is in my top 5 favorite characters from a movie of all time.in at 4th.the second if you only count human characters.the entire movie is really intense but if i had to pick out THE abselute most intense part,id say when they cook a cop during the riot.this is easily better than any other woody movie like cheers, white men cant jump and play it to the bone.its better than any juliette lewis movies too.shes really underutilized for as good as she is.all rodney dangerfield movies ive ever seen are substandard.tommy lee jones should thank whoever got him this role because the way hes going itll be the only good one he ever has.all his movies suck.except this one,of course.the special effects are cool.theres a lot of images floating about and symbolism and stuff.it adds to the chaotic nature.oliver stone hints in the second tape about a possible nbk2,but says nothing definate.and lastly id like tomention that the great quenten tarantino helped out too,so you know this one is guaranteed to be two things.GOOD AND MESSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
