Summary: Woo Hoo!!! It's here! (almost)
Review: A friend of mine told me I might like this film, and man was he right. The only film I wanted on DVD was WIND. Had it been available I would have bought my DVD player a year earlier. I've always found this is a great film for inspiration for people who build things; in my case: software. Design, testing, manufacturing, use, competition -- all done in glorous colour, magnificent sea scenery, beautiful boats, helpful commentary, and exceptional musical score. But until March 2003, my VHS copy's low resolution made it revolting to play in my home theatre's 10' screen. I'm so happy.

Summary: The Thrill of the Spinaker
Review: If you love sailing, there is no better movie out there. Not only does it have an entertaining plot line, with well developed characters, all sailors crave the thrill of putting up the spinnaker; this movie fulfills the craving. For a movie that makes you feel like you are at the helm and you want to feel the spray against your skin... THIS IS IT!!! Starring Matt Modine and Jennifer Grey this is a tale of tradition, love, betrayal, and reconciliation. With gorgeous views of Newport, RI, and exciting up close sailing action you cannot go wrong with this movie.

Summary: Need this on DVD
Review: I agree with all the reviews on here as it is one of my favorite movies of all time also. The studio needs to be informed of the demand for the DVD of this movie, I'm not sure they are aware of its following. Somebody needs to get a petition going or something along those lines.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: I love this movie! Although the acting is not the best, the action scenes totally make up for everything, and more. I have watched this movie to the point of obession, and will continue. I can't wait till it comes out on DVD!

Summary: PLEASE... bring WIND (Widescreen + Extras) To Region 1 DVD!
Review: Wind, simply put, is one of my all time favorite movies.

The story, music, cinematography, acting, adrenaline, and spirit make it a deeply moving film and a must have DVD. Anamorphic widescreen, cast and crew commentary and interviews, trailers, and deleted scenes would be much appreciated.

I was fortunate enough to recently acquire the two best versions presently available which are the 1992 USA Widescreen Laserdisc Release (For $300.00... yes, ouch, but it was DEFINITELY WORTH IT to see WIND in it's original widescreen format!) and then more recently the European Region 2 release which while competent is neither Widescreen, NTSC, Region 1, nor is it in English.

As the on screen titles weren't in English either it's a fair bet this was the version released to the European movie and then rental market. Seeing Matthew and Jennifer dubbed by Euro actors did not sit well with me at all.

It's kind of sad to realize that the best version of this movie (Widescreen - English) is on a technically dead format much the same way the best version (The Director's Cut) of Peter Bogdonavich's sequel masterpiece Texasville is only available on Laserdisc. Hollywood needs to get a better system in place for finding out what older films people want to see brought to DVD rather then just guessing or waiting for product tie-ins like the Bourne Identity TV Mini-Series which was only released because the Matt Damon Theatrical ...-Fest did well at the Box Office.

Summary: An appeal to the Producers of ' Wind'
Review: ...It's a wonderfully inspiring film, that shows us mere landlubbing mortals that adversity can be overcome with teamwork. It reflects so accurately the difference between rich & poor and that soundtrack is awesome. Without a doubt, this is one of those movies that stirs the soul and is probably in my list at least, one of the ten best movies of the 20th Century...

Summary: I can't forget this film
Review: .... You will love it even you don't like sailing. Beautiful camera shooting. Maybe the reason of the director is a camera man before. About the SoundTrack. I have found it at internet. But it told me that has stop producing. It really make me disappointed.

Summary: This movie has it all!!!
Review: This movie is sure to please everyone, even if they don't like sailing. The cinematography is exquisite. The plot carries you through from beginning to end. This movie has drama, action and comedy.

Jennifer Grey and Matthew Modine put in fine performances, as does the rest of the cast. Rob Lowe looks spectacular as usual, even though his part is a small one.

I would recommend this movie to everyone.

Summary: Simply an extraordinary film
Review: We've been waiting for years for this film to be available on DVD. The VHS edition is fine, for VHS, but the experience would be so much more enjoyable in a widescreen DVD version. The film itself is just breathtaking. The mix of beautiful cinematography, thrilling sailing action, interesting characters and fine acting make it one of my all-time favorite films. To the studio: please release this film on DVD.
