Review: I know action films are supposed to be unrealistic, but this is absolute trash. This is the worse action film I have seen from Hollywood. Nicholas Cage's voice is so annoying the whole film, he sounds like he's on drugs or something. The Amazon film reviewer got it right with this one, it is absolutely terrible.

Avoid like the plague. Unless you like self-mutilation

Summary: Great Action Flick!
Review: After reading some of these reviews, I have to get on my soapbox. Sluggish action? That person must have lied about seeing the movie. Racist? That reviewer must have missed the beginning when a white male (Cage) gets sent to prison for YEARS for a case of what was obviously self defense. Also, like books, movies can be divided into fiction and non-fiction. This movie, folks, is FICTION. Finally, I'm tired of the folks who become omniscient AFTER they've seen the movie, and claim that is was SO predictable. In the Boneyard, you have the convict's plane that is mired in sand, the drug cartel's jet hidden in the hanger, Cusack has arrived, and the FBI is arriving in the distance in a cloud of dust. If I stopped the movie at that point and ask people what was going to happen next, I would have gotten a zillion different answers and none of them would have been right! I KNEW Buscemi was going to slice and dice that little girl in the Boneyard, but it DIDN'T happen! For you folks that don't like action movies (or the violence), don't watch it and don't rate it! I'm certainly not going to click over to Wuthering Heights and rate it low because it was "a predictable love story that lacked any semblance of action."

Whew! Sorry about that, appreciators of action movies. This was a great action movie with great characters and great special effects. Buscemi was fantastic ... "Define Irong ..." It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Summary: Great film if a little predictable at times
Review: This film has it all - an original plot, great action sequences, humour and lots of guns and explosions. The plot, although original is very predictable at times and the DVD lacks extra featues, but overall a great movie.

Summary: Tragically bad rubbish
Review: Don't get me wrong here, I liked 'The Rock'. I thought it was beautifully filmed, honest, well edited and convincingly well enough acted. 'Con Air', however, was another kettle of fish, to use the saying. The plot was just far far too implausible, even for a member of the dreaded action genre. The message was, well, I'm not really sure if there was one to be honest. Apart from good people stay good and bad people stay bad. Deep huh. The cinemanographic techniques (slow motion, etc) worked well in 'The Rock' but here, as in 'Face/Off' (which is also equally bad), they just don't cut it. They seem tacked on just to give the movie a more 'arthouse' feel (which would no doubt lost on the average action fan anyway). Scripting was ridiculous, dialogue was appalling and dialogue was even worse. Avoid this movie. Try 'A Simple Plan', 'A Clockwork Orange' or 'Apocalypse Now' if you really want to delve into good and bad.

Review: I had the director wrong, it's not Brian De Palma it's Simon West. My comments still hold though.

Review: NOT AS GOOD AS THE ROCK OR FACE/OFF BUT STILL WAY UP THERE IN NICHOLAS CAGE'S MOVIE'S. A VERY GOOD ACTION THAT DESERVED MORE THEN THREE STARS WHILE IN THE THEATER. IF OU DON'T HVE THE ROCK OR FACE/OFF THROW THIS ACTION MOVIE ON YOU'LL LOVE IT.

Summary: ACTION-PACKED ROMP IN THE SKY!
Review: When I first heard about this movie, it's title kind of threw me off guard. "Con Air"? They're making a movie about a hairdryer? Not at all! I finally rented it not expecting much, and I was totally blown away! I don't really even like action movies, (like the whole Steven Seagal type flicks), but Nicholas Cage is one of my favorite actors so i just had to eventually see it. Not only that, but Steve Buscemi is also in it?!? Come on now, you know it's gonna be good!

Con Air is non-stop, heart pounding pure fun. Even the storyline is intelligently written. The characters in this film are also scary but fun, each one has his own quirky personality. If you're in the mood to be entertained and need a good cure for boredom, this is the movie right here.
