Summary: The best kung-fu movie you will ever see!
Review: I've seen this movie so many times and I'm sick of watching it. This is Jet lee best movie and I'm sure of that because I seen a lot Jet Lee movies. The great action!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Bruce Lee Would Be Proud
Review: Jet Li is off the hook in this movie. This movie is perhaps the ultimate tribute to the force of life known as Bruce Lee and Jet takes it to another level. Respect is given where respect is due as Jet incorporates the up&down, side-to-side movement in some of his fight scenes that Bruce pioneered. Little time is wasted before Jet starts wreckin' shop and the wreckin' is nonstop. The plot is a good one with many intense scenes. Trying to compare this movie to other old or new school fu-flicks is wasted time. Just sit back, enjoy, and feel the azian persuazion of this Ragin' Azian. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Not that good of a movie!!!!!
Review: I just don't understand what the hype is about? First of all its not dubbed in english so you have to read a script at the bottom of your TV screen. Second its just not that good of a movie. their are plenty of other Kung-Fu movies alot better than this one!!!! May I recommend INVINCIBLE ARMOR one of the best Kung-Fu movies ever, and blows this movie away in a heartbeat.

Summary: Should be on the shelf of any kung fu lover
Review: This movie was awesome. Finally, a semi-realisitic martial arts film. I believe why some people didn't like this movie was because Jet Li didn't fly around making a monkey out of himself. The fighting scenes were great, and they made the story believable. They depicted the Japanese people as human and equal, that is very rarely seen in a chinese boxing movie. There were even some good guys that were Japanese!!! Great movie, and highly recommended.

Summary: what the....
Review: What is this. This is barely kung fu. Look how Jet li holds his hands in this movie. What is it, american boxing? Well it sucks. Why would Jet Li dis kung fu like this. Shaolin and Wudang styles are so great. They could destroy some street fighter in a second. If you want to see Jet Li watch Shaolin Temple, Tai Chi Master, or Dragons of the Orient. This is too American.

Summary: Overrated, yet still absorbing.
Review: The fight scenes in this movie were much ballyhooed. To me, it's the same slow-motion, often sluggish execution as Lo Wei's chop-socky granddaddy films. Director Gordon Chan has shown his remarkable good taste and deft action direction in The Final Option and First Option, so I'd have to attribute the poor execution to choreographer. Yuen Wo Ping. In an interview with Chan he's also mentioned how Yuen would interfere with the cinematic handling of the fight scenes (eg. "We gotta shoot this one in slow-mo", and so on). That would explain the dated execution of the martial-arts sequences.

That aside, this is a remarkable martial-arts film -- in-depth characterization, a refreshing lack of xenophobia (finally, a Chinese fight movie that doesn't portray the Japanese as foaming, brain-dead villains), good solid dialogue, and good acting all around, even from the token love interest. Jet Li is lovable as well as kinetic, mixing aggressive tendencies with his trademark endearing presence. And Chan's script is high-quality, leading to the final confrontation gracefully (until the bad editing and cinematic choices, unfortunately, make this final confrontation unsatisfying and clumsy).

However, definitely one for the history books, if only for bringing so many non-martial-arts-film virtues into such a firmly martial-arts movie, transcending its innate generic conceits.

Summary: To add to the positive reviews...
Review: Classic. The last two fight scenes are truly memorable and realistic. I do not understand why some argue against the plot. I was surprised by it. It has pretty good character depth (small side stories that add realism), it deals with the very real issue of inner-asian racism, and Jet Li does a good job away from the fights. Everything else has been said - it is a must see.

Summary: Jet Li at his finest!
Review: An incredible movie by Jet Li! A must have! Li dazzles his audience with the range of styles in martial arts in this action-packed movie. Taking Bruce Lee's original movie, "Fist of Fury" aka "The Chinese Connection", Li further twist the plot by including Japanese and Chinese politic and inter-nationality romance. Many people try to weigh the pros and cons of both Bruce Lee's classic and Jet Li's remake, but I consider both benchmarks in martial arts movie making. It's interesting (and funny) to watch one and then the other and see how much the story basically remains the same but the way it presented changes through time. But overall, Jet Li's tribute to Bruce Lee's movie ranks one of the best martial arts movie out there. Get it and see it for yourself!

Summary: add me to the other 44 folks who this it's great!
Review: I decided to become one with 44 of my fellow men and tell the world how fine this movie is. The fight scenes are more realistic than in other Jet Li movies (another awesome one, though, is My Father is a Hero). The final fight in which Jet has to fight a guy that's stronger, taller, and doesn't fight fair is great--how does he do it? Watch and find out! A sympathetic and thoughtful telling of a story that seems like it really could have happened.

Summary: Best martial arts movie ever!
Review: Although this movie didn't really have a plot, is that what we're looking for in a Jet Li movie? I think not. The martial arts ruled, using both Chinese kung-fu and Japanese jujitsu. I must have rewound the scene where Jet Li is fighting the Japanese general and does a jump kick where he kicks the general three times in the chest and does a backflip-kick right in the general's face. It was unbelievable. Plus, the choreography ruled in "Fist of Legend", and the same man that choreographed "Drunken Master" and "The Matrix" did it. AMAZING MOVIE!!!!
