Summary: Jet Li is just too cool......
Review: When you watch this movie, you will know why I rated it as 5 stars. Even for non-action fans, I'm sure that they will be impressed with the excellent choreography and martial art skills displayed in this movie. I only wish that this movie can be released in America because I'm sorry to say, but Lethal Weapon 4 and Black Mask does not do Jet Li any justice. This is by far the best martial arts movie (next to Jackie Chan's Drunken Master II) I have ever seen, and I have seen many good ones. Although the plot seems like a typical martial arts movie (it is Jet Li's tribute to Bruce Lee), there is plenty of second-to-none action scenes to keep you hooked. This is a must see for all martial arts fans and anyone, especially for those who have only seen his American movies!

Summary: Fist of Legend
Review: Being a big fan of Jet Li, I first saw this movie a few years ago and my opinion has not changed since. If you are a fan of Jet Li's flawless fighting form, then THIS is the movie for you. Some of his best fight scenes are in THIS movie and you WILL NOT be disappointed when you buy it. If Lethal Weapon 4 and The Black Mask are the only movies of his you have ever seen, all I have to say is, "I'm sorry". Although those movies were good, they DID NOT show what 'The Man' is capable of. This is one of the few movies where he is able to show the full extent of his breathtaking talent and unblemished form. I can't say enough about this movie! It is a MUST SEE for all martial arts movie fans!

Summary: A Chinese Connection remake
Review: Some may balk at the fact that this movie is a remake of the Bruce Lee classic, "Chinese Connection" (originally entitled "Fists of Fury"--the current "Fists of Fury" was originally entitled "Big Boss Man"--don't ask me why they created this confusion), this is perhaps one of the best martial arts movies of all time, and certainly one of Jet Li's best offerings.

It would be nothing less than gross negligence for a self-respecting martial arts fan to go without OWNING this movie.

Summary: It's A Good Jet Li Action Flick!
Review: This remake of The Chinese Connection (starring Bruce Lee) does not really live up to its original storyline and comedic performance by Bruce, but provides unparallel, dying for more martial arts action sequences performed by none other than Jet Li himself. It's a story of a martial arts master who is poisoned by Japanese militia who see his academy as an obstacle in their conspiracy to take over China. Jet plays the dead master's top pupil who vows to investigate and settle the score?...Jet does not really shows his vengeful side as good as Bruce in Chinese Connection (I like this title better than Fist of Legend) and not as funny as Bruce, but his display of martial arts kicks and punches really satisfy even the most jaded action fans! The film could be toned down a bit to get rid of some unnecessary boring scenes like they did to Rumble in the Bronx. Nevertheless, Jet Li is the star to watch in this film just like he was in Lethal Weapon 4.

Summary: One of the best Jet Li movis out there!
Review: Definitly one of the best. No flying, no imposiible stunts, just strait up fighting. HOT!

Summary: One of the greatest martial arts movies yet!
Review: Fist of Legend is one of the greatest martial arts movies ever. Jet Li's fighting style is unique, captivating, and very abundant in this masterpiece. I highly recomend this movie to action lovers and fellow students everywhere.

Summary: My Favorite Time Period
Review: Ive noted people dislikeing the style of fighting in this movie claiming "its not Kung Fu" those people probably think that Kung Fu one style well there are hundreds of Kung Fu styles. By the time period this epic story is set the chinese had already seen wester boxing and japanese styles, which prompted the evolution of a new generation of styles (Higher staces ect). This allow for a greater variation of realitist and exiting styles of kunf fu and karate ive ever seen in a movie. (except maybey Drunken Master 2). I could keep going on and on about this movie but everyone else has already done that so at least i might have cleared a few things up.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Epic and beautiful.
Review: To the naysayers: Look. Let me just tell you, this movie is a fine testament to those that came before it. It doesn't lose sight of its roots. It doesn't disrespect martial arts or kung-fu specifically. I mean, that's like saying Bruce dissed on kung-fu. "Take what is useful..." and well you know the rest. That's not a knock on other arts or styles (or styles of no style). People are entitled to and maintain an opinion. It is hard for me to see how one could look down on this movie. I fondly remember Bruce and Chinese Connection when I watch it. And while I feel that Fist does tell the story better and more fully, I tend to hold Connection dearer because of the impact that it had on people. It was their first. Yet it's story is timeless. This movie is in some ways tributory and yet still manages to forage out on its own, creating likable characters on both sides of the fence. I care. You care. Chen Zhen cares. But anyway. I like the Cantonese/Mandarin thing. I don't care if i have to read subtitles. The story could tell itself visually and for the most part does. Plus, I get to hear the peoples' real voices. I get to feel their real emotions. Ah, a really nice film. Nice moves. And people that you care about. A fine addition to the genre and to movies in general.

Summary: Wrong Japanese Uniforms?
Review: Fist of Legend is one of the best films I've ever seen from Hong Kong industry. With the star of "Once upon a time in China" - a highly recommended film, the story is very interesting.

It would be good to mention the bilingual all-the-time use of japanese and chinese in the film. Also, the no-prejudice view of japanese and chinese is very important.

But, there is one strange thing: uniforms of japanese soldiers, in that age, if I am not wrong, were black, not dark-green. It seems to me that the japanese uniforms in this film are from the Popular Army of China.

Summary: One of the best martial arts movie ever made!!!
Review: Well, I only can say that it is very highly recomendable!!! If you are a Jet Li Fan you gotta see this movie... I mean, the plot is very good (better than the one of "Fist Of Fury"!) and one fighting sequence follows the other.... And Jet Li looks so cool while crushing the Japs... Well, the "Japanese" actors are very good, too... All in all ... buy this video and ENJOY!!! (I think I already watched it at least 5 times!!!)
