Rating: Summary: The Rock is simply the best. Review: I have seen this movie at least, oh, 15 times, the most recent of those being the DVD version. The DVD version's sound kicks. It makes a difference. This movie is so incredible, with great camera angles, memorable one liners, a plot that isn't particularly bad (if you want plot, delve into this wonderful medium known as "literature"). There are some great gunfights too. This one and Faceoff are probably the best of the 35-odd action films I've seen in the past 3 years.
Rating: Summary: Smash! Boom! Bang! Now that's what I gotta see Review: The best movie of 1996. Excellent VFX, great actors, alot of action & alot of humor....And yes this magnificient work of art is brought to you by the original "B/BAD" BOYS of summer entertainment...Michael BAY & Jerry BRUCKHEIMER!!!
Rating: Summary: Truly AC-3 5.1??? Review: I love this movie but I'm wondering if I'm the only one that bought a copy that says 5.1 but isn't. When I press DISPLAY on my DVD player it says AC-3 2.0 and I can't change it. Fluke or what? the ASIN No. is 1558907270 and I was robbed.

Rating: Summary: Great action movie. Review: This movie has one of those plots where there is a overwhelming bad guy and there's only one man that can stop him(Connery)it's a great film.Cage has a good role, and very funny.
Rating: Summary: You've got to love it Review: While I award this movie only 4 stars due to the extremely unlikely plot, you have to love Sean Connery as the unjustly jailed, never tried British operative that the US govt now needs to help them divert a catastrophy. Even more excellent than Connery, however, is job done by Cage as the chemical weapons expert. I love it when he responds to the jibe that he's a "chemical freak" by saying, "No! I'm a chemical SUPERFREAK!" After all, if you're going to be a freak, I say you better be a superfreak!
Rating: Summary: It's got all the story a movie needs Review: Few words are necessary to review this movie. It's almost one of a kind. The best thing is probably that Ed Harris plays his role so well, that everybody is on his side at the beginning of the movie because of the reasens he takes over The Rock. Sean Connery remains a briljant actor, and in this movie you can see very clearly why Nicolas Cage has been asked to play so many roles in a very short time lately. Top movie
Rating: Summary: The rock of action!!! Review: Now this movie is a movie we can call the real rock of action. We can all say that the story of this film is kind of simple, but almost all of the action movies have a week plot. The difference is that how much that the director can express the frantic, the thrill, and the action. Some people say that The Rock is one of the best action movies of the century, and I think so too. Micahael Bay and Jerry Brukheimer, these guys are real clever. These kind of action films are hard to find in the video shop. I give it 4 out of five.
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest movies ever made. Review: This is definately my favorite movie. It is an action packed thrill ride!! The acting is superb and boasts performance by Sean Connery that is outdone only by his performance in The Untouchables. Absolutely Nicolas Cage's best movie. Anybody who is wondering what to rent tonight: RENT THIS! You won't regret it!!
Rating: Summary: More like "The Pebble" Review: I was dissapointed in almost every level of this DVD. First the movie. The plot was a little hard to believe. Yeah I know action movies are not supposed to be all that beleivable, but come on, Marine Corps veterans spend their entire lives protecting Americans and now they want to kill them all. Now the acting. Connery was a waste of talent. He is set up as this regal, refined british agent, but then has ridiculous lines like (said with an accent)"your beshd, losers always wine about their beshd, winnas get to go home home and f**k the prom queen". When I heard that I almost replaced the disc as a coaster for my kool-aid. Now the action. Some decent shootouts, but the car chase had so many continuity problems it was insulting. Just look for the scene when the hummer first slams into another car, you could see right there that it was stopped in its tracks, but no it kept on going. Micheal Bay couldnt direct a car chase if John Frankenhiemer (the master of car chases, please see my review of his film Ronin) held his hand. Now the disc itself. It has trailers and a chapter search. Thats it. The bear minumum. No behind the scenes, no audio commentaries, Hollywood Pictures home Video should be a little more generous. They charge about $5 more than the average for their discs. Thank The Matrix I only paid $4.95 for this one (and I still think I was ripped off).
